Love the work man. Brass Monday is excellent.
If you're looking for other suggestions, i'd happily suggest either The Council or The 5th Column. Dunno why, but maybe it's cause they're ebul -
T'would be nice for the option there. Since I mostly play alts these days, un-buffed enhancements tend to miss a lot, whilst enemies tend to hit a lot when they're +1.
My point is, I would prefer to subscribe to a challenge (I.e., set to the difficulty I desire) rather than have it pushed at me. Sometimes, now I will admit, I enjoy these challenges, for a character like my pitifully weak FF/Psi Fender .. well .. that ends as would be expected.
And, to state again, this idea would be optional and turned off by default, so that people who still want to occasionally face enemies higher than specified can do so in peace.
On the 'Ramp Up' issue, I think that is sometimes the case. Though I can thoroughly say i've been on missions where the only correctly conning enemies were one at the front and one at the back.
And finally, yes. The god of Random Generators hates .. just about everyone -
Recently, i've been having entire missions spawn as +1's when i've specified for +0's. And in one case, recieved +1's on a mission set to -1.
What I sincerely would like to see is a "And I want only this level to spawn." option at the Fortunata/Hero Corps person.
Now, this isn't a way to just eliminate any sort of a challenge. If I wanted a challenge, I would agree to have a challenge set for me, not dumped on-top of me without my known. Kind of like say, a Task Force, where I sign up knowing there will be a challenge, rather than walking into a standard mission where oops, everything is suddenly a step harder than I wished it to be.
Leave the option there for people who like variation in their enemies, but for me it is beyond frustrating, as I choose to play many squishes (At low level, before SO's, dont y'know?) where landing an attack on a +0 enemy let alone +1 is a task enough. -
*An envelope arrives for the Liberty Force, sealed with black wax. The letter on the inside is even more cryptic. There's no text, save for a large, black splodge of wax, with the imprint of a skull on it.*
*After being read, the envelope and letter disintegrate into a fine black powder.* -
*The following is written on a piece of parchment. It appears to have been written in a trembling hand, for there are smudges and the text itself appears skewed*
Team-mates
I do not know what to say.
The return of Iron or Dana as Babel referred her as, was a momentus event for our team.
Whilst I do not want to soil this happy occassion, considering our misfortunes as of late, a tragedy has befallen myself.
I don't know how, or why. But my once skeletal, ethereal form has changed. It started with a simple itch, but I began to rapidly feel unwell, which was interesting for I never felt unwell.
The one called Megan 'comforted' me as I collapsed in the hall way. Like I mentioned, I know not how this has happened, but my once dead form has been imbued with life.
This is not a good thing.
I am a vampire, and I haven't fed in hundreds and hundreds of years. I believe it a matter of time before I will do something I regret ...
Do not let this soil Dana's return, though I do openly ask for help, for my concern is with you, not myself.

This is Double Time. Story? Er ... I just had to make a new character with the Vanguard Pack and the 7 Stars Emblem. He's Claws/WP and uses bright green vanguard claws. I was initially going to try and imitate a Vanguard Soldier but thought it cheap and made Double Time instead. -
*A parchment is found lying on a table*
To whoever reads this, this concerns the events of the night of the 15th of April.
I met Civil in Pocket D. He seemed .. tense. He soon wanted me to go to the base to look for bombs. I didn't find any, but I knew something was up. I'd decided to read the report on Simmons' desk and knew fair well that Civil was the only one who planted any bombs recently.
After exposing him, he tried to flee. I paralysed him with force. I took him to the med-bay and strapped him into the bed. I didn't know what I was thinking. I was angry. I can't explain. I almost killed him but I quickly stopped myself. I was making progress in trying to convince Civil to think otherwise.
Soon, I felt another presence in the room. A dark, evil presence descended upon Civil. I knew then how I could convince him. It took many attempts but I managed to show Civil what I saw.
Tyrannix is in Civil's mind, team-mates. There is no two ways about it. I feel that the base is already too compromised.
As for Civil, Dumnezeu să aibă milă de sufletul lui ... -
Heavy Commanders. A *Insert AT that is NOT a Tanker/Scrapper/Brute here*'s worst nightmare.
That is all.
*Actually, no it's not*
I can deal with everything else. Augurs, War Walkers even Commanders and heck, Marauder even (On his own, un-enraged, I imagine he'd be easy.) But Heavy Commander's? My grave has been dug and i'm already in it, they're just stamping on it.
There's no feasible way for me to beat them when i'm being chain KB'd for huge amounts of damage. My only defence is to throw a Smoke Grenade, nom a purple and hope to god that they don't hit me.
Perhaps, when the portals have been closed, reinforcements stop showing up full-stop? Or maybe he summons things other than bosses exclusively. Though I did see a Lieutenant once, when the stars were correctly aligned ..
As I said to some groupies last night "So, to win once, we must fail 25 times?"
Exaggeration, but meh >_> -
((I'm posting this because the plottage the new Liberty Force group have all devised has, to my personal surprise, interested other people, though I might just be mis-interpreting that.
To this end, to save any further questions and make easier reference for those involved, i'll just post this here. If anyone wants to take part, that's up to them. Anywho ...))
*Amongst the other arrest warrants posted in police stations across Paragon City, a new one emerges.*
WANTED: TYRANNIX
An arrest warrant has been issued on the villain going by the name of Tyrannix.
Tyrannix is suspected of associating with known wanted groups and interfering with the law.
Tyrannix is identified as a shape-shifter. No picture exists of his/her/it's true identity.
However, the following groups have been identified as having been infiltrated by Tyrannix: The Council, Void Seekers and Longbow.
Longbow personell have been informed of a traitor in their ranks and are in the processing of interviewing Wardens.
Heroes and law enforcement personell are to approach the aformentioned groups with caution, or with a psychic.
Report any unusual behaviour immediatley. The suspect must be taken alive. Be warned, Tyrannix has been known to drain the fighting abilities of foes.
The suspect is known to operate in Paragon City and the Rogue Isles.
Those with inquiries should contact Captain Harold Simmons at 555-9831 -
Captain Harold Simmons (Aerial Assault) - Personal Log #2 - Liberty Force
This is my second personal log on the Liberty Force. Things are gathering pace now. The base is taking great shape. I particularly like the briefing room and the sparring room. I sparred with Conall. He's fast and strong, I did get some decent hits in but, well, he's far more resilient than me. I have no doubt, in a melee, he'd have me for breakfast. Literally.
Vanguard offered to fashion me a better melee weapon, like an extendable baton. This is good, because a knife in a quick life-or-death scenario isn't amazing for this day and age. She also wanted me, in return, to teach her how to use firearms. Of course, i'm all too happy to help. That said, I think, unbelievably, it would make her more deadly if she could attack from range. However, I doubt even someone like her could only do so much with a standard rifle. A warrior is only as good as their weapon will allow them, as the saying goes.
I've been on the trail of Tyrannix for a while now but ... it's like grasping at shadows. He appears, then disappears. People think they saw him but it just turns out it was another run of the mill Council.
The Council representative that contacted me was .. well, he did strike a lucrative bargain but, as heroes, we had to decline.
*sigh*
I can't believe i'd even considered working with the Council, especially after ...
*There's a long pause as he seems to take a long swig of a drink*
I moved some of my old stuff into my new office. I prefer it down here. It's quiet. The ambience of the water is strangely soothing ...
I put the old AIRS photo up next to my bed. Hm ...
*Another long pause*
I also put the picture of me and Nat next to my computer. If she could see me now ...
*Another long pause*
I need to get some sleep ..

Re: A beneficial proposal
We at the Liberty Force have considered your lucrative offer. However, as upstanding heroes of Paragon City, we simply cannot accept your offer. Your reputation does not do you justice, and we cannot trust you, despite your claim to be honourable in your dealings.
Therefore, expect for many of your personell to be injured and locked away as we look for this 'traitor' through our own methods: Namely, swatting any and all Council members that come our way.
Signed, Aerial Assault.

Re: A beneficial proposal
It saddens me and my colleagues that you would turn down our very beneficial offer. I would very much like to cut down the time you spend harming our personell looking for this traitor, as would many other of my colleagues.
Is there no room for negotiation? I'm sure we can reach an accord.
And, for peace of mind, what we require will be of no consequence to you or of the fair people of Paragon City. Though it is not within my ability to disclose our plans to you, I can hint that it involves a common enemy between us, besides the traitor.
Think on this.

Captain Harold Simmons (Aerial Assault) - Personal Log #1 - Liberty Force
It is nearing my first week with the Liberty Force and I feel happy with the team. Though our first proper mission together was not a total success, failures are simply things we can build upon.
My thoughts on the other members are varied, but they are all honourable and heroic people that I am proud to fight alongside.
The Iron Vanguard is ... opinionated, I would say. Though, this isn't a bad thing, I think it could potentially cause problems if personal problems arise, as she seems to want to handle personal problems alone.
Civil Servant is a good addition to our team and one of the most hardy 'naturals' I know of. Though, I think his civility with our opponents out of the field, whilst not outright wrong, may form unnecessary bonds, but time will tell.
Donna, or Lady Babel as the others call her, is a very useful meta in our group. Though I have yet to see her powers in action, i'm sure she is capable of great things that will be of great benefit to us in a fight, as well as out of a fight.
The Thunderar is one i'm not too sure about, but by no means in a 'mysterious keep your eyes on them' manner. Perhaps I simply haven't got to know him yet.
Finally, Jack, or The Rogue Manipulator, our leader. He seems .. well, I can't put my finger on it. Very much like a leader, simply put.
I recently informed the Liberty Force on a potential threat to our group, the shape-shifting villain Tyrannix. I'm unsure why, but he seems to be .. opposed to us. I imagine any villain would, be he seems to have gone out of his way a few times to bring harm to us, whether we've noticed it or not. I've asked the rest of the team to show vigilance when engaging Council and Void Seekers, as well as being wary of Longbow Wardens.
End of Personal Log. -

I'm not a psychic, I don't know who likes to duo and who doesn't.
Edit: Right, i'm tired, aching and disappointed because my chief entertainment of the night was disappointing in every sense of the word. Just let the thread disappear, I really .. really cannot be bothered with what is effectively bashing my head off of a brick wall. -
Like I mentioned, this has been somewhat of an inconvience for me a bit after Incarnates came out.
-
Don't get me wrong, I like playing with friends. But sometimes, they're either occupied, or I want to team -now- opposed to later. Sometimes a duo just doesn't cut it for me.
Oh, and just now, on one of the global channels, someone suggested level 20+ teaming. They got no response. Not one. I would have responded, but like I said, duoing I find dull. I like groups. But finding these like-minded people only happens to me once in a blue moon.
And why don't I friend them and play with them all the time? Because this is an MMO, and I want to play with more than just the same 3 people time and time again. If I wanted to play with 2 friends, i'd hop onto my Xbox. -
Union. Non-50 things are advertised very occasionally, but they don't get much notice. Last time I did a Posi1 advertised on the global channels, it got 4 people. Four.
Before Incarnates, something like that would be an instant sell-out. -
A number of weeks ago, I made a thread voicing my concern over the lack of willingness (At least on my server) to do any non-Incarnate based activity, or generally anything that wasn't high level.
My general team-finding incompetence may have had something to do with that, but it has been several weeks now and I have been more pro-active in my searches.
And yet, teams are still a rare thing for me. At least, at a low level.
I suspect that this will continue until Incarnates is done, but how long will that take? Months (Issue 20)? I fear even a number of more years.
Though there are two new TF's announced in the level 20-40 area, I doubt it will affect the amount of people doing Incarnate based activities very much.
I've considered taking a break, however, having cancelled my subscriptions to any other MMO and having no new games to play on my Xbox or PS3, i'm left with little choice.
Finally, I would like to add to any sort of 'Official' reading this, that I subscribed to this game because I -HATE- endgame. I like making alts. I don't want to be lumped with the same two characters until Incarnates washes over sometime in the distant future. Don't become what I've tried to escape from.

Looks like i'll be aquiring a train, as I don't want to torture my brother with two (approximate) 6-hour drives. I'll be sure to pack maps, as it a) Takes me ages to get anywhere or b) I do't get to where I need to be :P
-
Huh, that reminds me of something I saw a few nights ago, but it happened so fast I didn't manage to take a screenie of it.
I was flying to the Vanguard DPO in Cap au Diable, and I swear that the guy at the door did the Praetorian salute.
Safe to say, I was sufficently creeped out. -
Well, I can add that one of my friends who recently tried out the Free Trial after several years of not playing (Since he forgot his account details) in Praetoria.
And you know what? He hated it. He found it boring. He'd already read everything he wanted to know about Praetoria and found the enemies lacking.
Now, I proceeded to show him the Shadow Shard a few days later. And I totally agreed with what he said: "They should do more of this." And that was just by looking at it.
In my opinion, let the Devs finish Issue 20, but for the love of deities above and below, don't make it all about the Praetorians. I mean, sure, smacking around a giant robot is a 'god-like' feat worthy of the notice of a sadistic mystical well, but so is defeating an aspect of a dimension devouring entity, or the leader of a large and powerful group of super-nazis or even hordes upon hordes of alien invaders.
So, whilst I do somewhat like Praetoria, i'm disappointed that the Devs current goal/vision seems to be shifted entirely to involving Praetoria given half the chance. I mean, there are other threats out there -
^Bullrush, who was being prepared since it became known that minotaurs may be part of the pack. -
Quote:I should probably have mentioned that this isn't something he can do off the fly, and to anyone. He must be 'stealthed' (Lets call it that) and the victim musn't be aware of his presence, or at least, not able to see him.I have got to ask, because otherwise this will bug me. Does this mean
a) Being able to rip the soul out of any victim that has one?
b) Being able to rip the soul out of any victim that has one, provided that they are unaware ED means them harm?
c) Being able to rip the soul out of any victim that has one, provided that they are unaware that ED is a demon?
d) Being able to rip the soul out of any victim that has one, provided that they are unaware of ED's soul-ripping ability?
e) There is one poor person somewhere in all of the realities that ED is able to rip the soul out of whenever he wants?
In answer to the questions, save D, yes. If they are alerted to his presence and capabilities, they would be spared a horrible insta-death. (Trying to work game mechanics with him here) His 'Placate' ability works by blinding an opponent to his presence: Whilst they know he's there, they aren't physically able to stop him. Though, an attack from this state is still potent, it wouldn't nearly be as deadly as the opening attack, had they survived it.
In terms of soulless creatures, it reverts to more of a attack of brute force and energy, but no less potent. Make no mistake, it is as much a physical attack as a spiritual one.
And as for D, it really depends on who he has set his sights on. This isn't a 'godmodelolkilleveryone' .. he's certainly got enough power to snuff out the life of anything from Joe Average to New Hero Off The Block, but experienced beings aren't something that he can give a nasty glance to and kill in one go. Considering each of his attacks are assaults on the spirit as well as the body, it could be a slow process or relativley fast process, though the souls of any victim applicable to have a soul remain more or less intact.
The 'soul-ripping ability' is a representation of Assassin Strike + Build Up, but IC'ly it's his way of removing a target quickly and effectivley, which can be stayed by a swift blow to his head. It takes concentration to vanquish a soul
Also, i've been awake an hour and haven't had anything to eat or drink, so if none of this makes sense, that's why -
I'll be able to make it for both days, as I don't start Uni till the 23rd September
I'll need a computer etc. though, since I don't fancy unplugging anything out of mine
Though, I'd have to secure transportation, which is either in the form of my brother being a nice person and driving me, or taking a train. According to Google Maps, its about an hour faster on the train, so probably the car, I guess. Either way, it'll be about 3 hours. -
