Thanks Lman. My biggest challenge with this character is that in order to take advantage of transfusion et ali, I tend to play pretty close to the action. Hence the (perceived) need for high defenses.
I'd love to see a build that offered other options. -

I found a build elsewhere on the forums and tweaked it to suit my aesthic requirements (no Earth Armor, looks like cr@p). But its not performing as well as I'd have expected. Any suggestions?

I usually have my Recipe, Salvage, and Vault windows open when I do this. As you open each recipe, you see a list of salvage items and for each item you see the number you have plus the number you need. I just go through each item and move salvage in or out as needed. When I get to the end of the recipes on hand, I do a quick scan for any duplicates I need and feed them in.
Since its all probably XML anyway, I bet they could build a shopping list tab like the one in Mids. -
