Haw. Enjoy!
(And if you have an XBox360 handy, go get the Guitar Hero III demo. Even without the guitar controller, I'm having a blast rockin' out to Pat Benatar, Priestess and Tenacious D. \m/) -
Pshaw, no apologies necessary. It doesn't bother me.
Sounds like a fun time! Just hollar whenever you're ready, I'mma looking forward to it. -
Flash is insanely addictive. I used to do everything in Photoshop or Painter, and then I installed it and do a bunch of stuff with it instead. Especially inking. My lines wobble too much and I like 'em nice and smooth and crisp, dangit! I may or may not also be planning some minor animation experiments with it, using some of my favorite games as guides. I CAN NEITHER CONFIRM NOR DENY
I'll let Su go into Empire at War's playstyle - I haven't played it myself, but I can watch her play it from my desk and dude, it is gorgeous and insanely fun to watch. (Also: Admiral Ackbar.) Definitely worth a demo download, though, if you can find one. The game is about a million times better once you get the Forces of Corruption expansion pack, though. It makes the ground combat a little less dull. The space stuff is always great. -
Also Sir Edmund, but then we're getting into wacky Hillary-as-a-surname territory.
Thanks for all the comments-and-interest-and-support, folks!
Plas, I always lurv drawing for you. Hassle me anytime.
Warface, I was actually considering offering myself up for that! Depending on the details, I might be up for it - if it's an actual multi-hero rumble, though, I might hesitate, if only because I have so little practice in drawing that kind of thing. I'd hate for one of my first attempts to be something someone paid for, even at a discount. -
Ahoy, ladies and gentlemen and itses of varying degrees of super-powered-ness!
The decorations and music selection in my supermarket inform me that it's the Christmas season again - and as such, I'm a-runnin' a sale on commissions from now until New Year's. My dA page has the full scoop.
For now, it's back into the trenches of classwork and house cleaning. Excelsior, kiddies. -
If you could get away with it, a few wargs playing poker would be the greatest thing on the face of the planet. But you'd probably get in trouble for that, so maybe just as a warm-up sketch. XD

I've always really dug Majesty's look (quietly, lurking, from afar!), but given how many times I've changed my hero's costumes, I can't blame you for needing a change of pace. I look forward to seeing what folks come up with!

What a gig! Well played, geek.
You could probably do a REALLY nice, moodalicious shot of Frodo with a suddenly-glowing Sting halfway out of its sheath. Do some lighting and perspective (angle the shot up towards his face from below?) work to keep your skills sharp AND have fun at the same time. -
Anytime!
It comes in handy having an artist who had required classes in copyright law in the house. -
[ QUOTE ]
If you commission and purchase a piece of art to be drawn, painted, whatever of your character, do you own the rights to it?
[/ QUOTE ]
No.
If rights are included in the commission's price, then yes - but otherwise, all you own is the copy of the artwork, not the right to (for example) redistribute, reproduce or resell it as you see fit. It remains the artist's. Unless you have a written contract that explicitly states otherwise, you get usage rights - you can display it, show it to your buddies, hang it on your wall, etc. Nothing that you profit off of.
Sort of like when you go to a con and commission Adam Hughes to draw Catwoman - all you own is that drawing. DC still owns the character and Adam Hughes can reproduce that same drawing for the next guy in line without any fear of hard feelings or legal action from you, but if you put it on a t-shirt and tried to sell it, Hughes and DC could hit you with a lawsuit.
Now, an artist selling prints of a commissioned work gets a little murky, but I don't think you're asking about this from the artist's perspective so much as the commissioner's, so I won't dive even deeper into the twisty, turny world of US copyright law. For my own sake, if noone else's. -
It's not CoX related, but maybe we have a few SASUKE fans here in the game.

This one isn't brand-spanking-new, but it hasn't been featured yet, and it's gotten some positive reactions. So consider it submitted for next week.

Very well. You may have my very last fresh-from-the-oven, super-fantastic chocolate chip cookie from Night Owl Pizza. -
Imagine my surprise when I saw Moving Day right up top! I guess that means you liked it. XD
Nice edition! Purty artz! -
That's a very nice piece! She looks so gosh-darned happy.
I'll have to go make "NICE JOB" noises over on their page once I finish eating mah cookies. Omnomnomnomnom! -

Well, if Robert is short for Richard, I guess. -

Done in commemoration of today's news.
A quickie and it maybe looked better as a sketch, but eh, I like it. -
Here's a quick one I did today after the news came in. By all means, feel free to use it for the next Scoop!

No, Auto Assault just stunk. I'd been hoping for Car Wars, not... whatever that was. As it turns out, so was everybody else.
But Auto Assault suffered from something CoX does not, at this juncture - it was an entirely new product.
And Auto Assault was more NetDevil's failure, anyway.
So the comparison is still invalid. -
As far as keyboards go...
...it'd be awfully time-consuming to compose sentences with a controller.
...oh, God, I just imagined Atlas Park broadcast chat over Live headsets. AAAAAH NOOOOOO GOD NO -

Tal, you DO know that they also run Lineage, Lineage II and other games, not just Tabula Rasa and COH?
[/ QUOTE ]
And you DO know those other games (with the exception of Guild Wars) haven't exactly been well received by western audiences, right?
This article from the Korea Times might be worth reading.
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe that has something to do with the fact that they weren't developed for western audiences. -
Oh, hey, Arctic Sun. How the heck are ya?
