Holy cow, Foo, those are all awesome. I would also like to say that dadgum it, you owned that PinUp Girl pose. I knew you would. In my totally biased opinion it's your best piece yet!
-
I agree--I really like the pose on the third piece, and you clearly have talent! I hope to see more work from you.
-
Fabulous! I love his style and this looks great. I'm nuts about linework...
-
Wow! Of course not, Foo, feel free to post something that fabulous any day
-
At the risk of enraging The Foo for threadjacking, given the name of the thread, I thought I might mention here of a couple of artists that might not be as known to the CoH art community, since their styles aren't overtly superheroish. However, if you are looking for something a little different, check them out.
HollyBell is really talented, a sweetheart to work with, and she's just started doing simple color $15 character commissions like this . She did this piece for me and she really was lovely to work with. Her style is sort of romantic anime-ish, and she also does Art Nouveau style work.
Ysa is an artist I've enjoyed for awhile who just started taking commissions again. Frankly, the piece this artist did for me is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen, IMO, and I simply love it. Very easy to work with, and worked very fast. Also a romantic anime-ish style, with a great emphasis on historical costume.
I apologize if this isn't appropriate here, I just know I love learning about artists that are 'new' to me when I read this forum. I have no connections with these artists whatsoever, aside from loving their work, and having satisfactory dealings with them. -
Grats on your first piece! Really nice, I love the colors and I always adore that type of bold two color costume. She looks great!
-
I'm an Elvgren fan--his ladies always seem to have that playful vibe as was pointed out above, they seem to be having fun--(I think I'm somewhat biased considering PinUp Girl), the recent George Petty wrangle notwithstanding. But I love most of the classic pinup artists.
And for what it's worth, Darkjedi, Juggertha, Wassy and Alex are ALL on my 'Must have!' list. Someday! -
Well, now, naughty is Shrike-approved! Yay for naughty!
I love the fact that his women are unabashedly female--not that slender women aren't, but as a curvy lass, it's good to see that we are represented too.

And Shrike? Look again.

Thanks! *toddles off* -
OK, I want to see this movie. What, there's no movie? Get crackin'!

I tried WoW for about five minutes. The character creator made me cry, since CoH was the only MMO I'd played at that point. Not being able to really design my character was such a drag, I uninstalled it and never looked back. (LotRO did suck me in, of course, but I put up with the more limited cosmetics because it's Middle-Earth.)
I hope everyone involved in this situation manages to come out of it with a happy outcome. *crosses fingers* -
Gah! Me and my bad timing. I'll be keeping a watch on this auction.
Grats on getting your spots! I love his style, I can't wait to see what he does for you. -

Aha!! You're PinUp Girl, from Virtue? Well, Atom Basher says, "Oooo, a new poster to put on my wall!" *laughing*
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, I'll bet there's more than one pinup girl on Virtue, but yes, I am one of them here--the one in the sailor suit. Hi there! You should say howdy if you see me there sometime
I just recieved another piece by UndergroundUno, this time it's the Scarlet Specter.
UndergroundUno is drawing all 4 of my CoH 'mains'. I can't wait to see the next two, should be swell! -
Wow, beautiful, and I love the way he used color.

Impolite? This is blood feud! I will feast on the entrails of his children!
(Not really.)

Do innards go well with Tim Hortons?
Yum. -

It's true that mine'd be fabulous, but that's pretty much the exact pose and detail I was going for!
I'm going to have him killed for this. I hope you're happy now.

But...you're in Canada; surely murder for hire is a bit, well, impolite? Perhaps a mild talking-to instead.
Thanks for all the kind words, folks. I count myself fortunate to have this piece. -
Sweet! (How do you say that in Russian, I wonder?) I really like her pose and expression. Grats on your cool new piece!
-
I'm sorry, Foo
I still think you'd do your own fabulous spin on it.
But it is pretty nifty, ain't it? -
I sit down this morning to pay some bills and look what shows up in my email:
PinUp Girl by Daggerpoint
I should be this lucky every morning!
Daggerpoint blows me away. -
I love these and they're great for sharing with my CoH buddies. One of my friends even posts them in his cubicle at work (apparently confusing his co-workers). Thank you to everyone who is making them. Moar plz!
'Salvage Vault' is oh so true! -
Love both of these! I can see this artist will no be going on my 'must commission' list. The dynamic poses are fabulous. Grats on such great pieces!
-
Base? Heck, buy an in-game billboard.
Darned impressive. Congrats on a superb piece. -
Oh, darn. I'll be playing a pen and paper game that day. Oh, well, sounds like this will be a blast!
-
Yes, indeed, check out Tatious and her stuff. She's really nice and works lightning fast. Rather than spend $5 on lunch, I brown bagged it and got this adorable piece done:
PinUp Girl by Tatious
And it was done in about the time it would take to eat lunch, too. I leave the computer for a couple hours and come back to a nifty piece of art. Go give her stuff a looksee! -

Ha! Now why didn't *I* think of that!
Powerthirster, those are both really cool shots. I especially like the second one. Nice ice!
