  1. You can't lose any of that!

..unless you never bothered to remember email passwords, keep the emails, or keep records on paper.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
Well I didn't realize I said Badges were necessary...I did say PvP was necessary to get everything out of the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    You also said:

    [ QUOTE ]
And I bet atleast one of these badges is linked to an accolade or two...

So, yes, PvP or atleast endangering yourself by entering a PvP zone, is mandatory.

    [/ QUOTE ]

While you did say "if you want to get everything out of the game," you went another direction with that last statement. So which is it?

Are they only mandatory, because you want them, resulting in a semi-masochistic habit? Or do you feel they're mandatory, period, making the statement false?

    [ QUOTE ]
There are stories and badges in the PvP zones that cannot be seen or aquired anywhere else.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There are also means of avoiding conflict, altogether, while you accomplish such goals.

    [ QUOTE ]
And also I'd say +15% HP and +10% End is darn near required...thats what I have right now from two accolades in CoH and I imagine it'll be similar in CoV.

If people didn't feel those accolades and having that boost to HP and END were needed then they wouldn't bother getting them. I've seen people with barely any badges save those required for the HP/END accolades.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Some people collect badges to be collecting them. Not for story, not for accolades, and certainly not because they feel it's necessary. While the concept of Collecting may elude your mental grasp, at this time, I can say that there are plenty of people who collect badges just to have them.

The accolades that give +HP and +End aren't necessary. They add what? Possibly a total of 100-some-odd hp (maybe 300m if you're a Tanker) and 10 endurance? That's like... an extra attack and the ability to take an extra half-a-hit, by the time you get them.

    [ QUOTE ]
I imagine 15% more HP is alot. Especially to a tank or Scrapper. That can mean a few more punches they can take. And anything that improves your HP and/or END I believe is required...especially post ED.

    [/ QUOTE ]

To a Tank, it might be something. To a Scrapper? It's only 100-150 more hp (at least, that's what it was on mine). That's barely anything. As I said, before, that's half a hit by the time I received it. Who's that going to save?

    [ QUOTE ]
I assume none of you "Badges/Accolades aren't necessary" guys actually have those HP/END accolades. I mean after all no point in wasting time getting them if they aren't necessary.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I did fine without them and I wouldn't have them if: 1) they didn't add to my badge count and 2) I could refuse them. As it stands, after collecting so many badges, you'll eventually get an accolade or three. Heck, eventually, you'll have them all.

Sometimes, you seek something, not because it's necessary, but because you want to or because it amuses you. You (and others who share such an opinion) have made it necessary only to yourself.

    [ QUOTE ]
If none of the PvP zone badges are related to accolades of any quality worthy of use (ie HP/END perma-buff) then fine let them be there. But as it is...if you want all the badges/accolades in CoV then you are forced into PvP.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    A self-inflicted problem. You're not forced.
  3. [ QUOTE ]
Buying enchantments, training, doing missions is not mandatory either by that logic...

    [/ QUOTE ]

My logic and your logic seem to be on different planes.

    1. Didn't know enchantments were in City of Heroes/Villains. Always figured that was more of a fantasy thing.
    2. Enhancements aren't necessary, but a lack of them certainly hinders you in a significant way.
    3. Training is mandatory as you can't advance in the game without doing so.
    4. You're right. Doing missions isn't mandatory. Never said it was.
    5. Badges and Accolades are NOT, by any means, necessary.

Show me a character that was broken (unable to do anything or level) by a lack of badges or accolades and I'll take back my statement.
  4. Surprise! Badges and Accolades aren't mandatory.
  5. Tenryuu

    Is it confirmed?

    Delayed, not Destroyed.

You really need to research things before you further open your mouth. =/ Not saying you've no right to a thought or opinion, but at least get your facts straight.
  6. Tenryuu

    Is it confirmed?

Funny. I don't ever recall them saying melee sets were in i6. I do know that they said that the next planned sets are melee-based. They never said "when," though.

    Post.

    Blame yourself, for your misunderstanding.

I once again vote against it. Costume diversity for the win.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    /agree, but I guess I'm just weird. :P

    [/ QUOTE ]

Same. I like the fact that you can easily tell the difference between a villain and a hero...

    CoH/CoV Teaming

    [ QUOTE ]
Can villians goto the normal CoH zones, like atlas, steel canyon, kings row... ect?

    [/ QUOTE ]

From what I know, no. Not the actual zones. The only CoH zones we'll be hitting up are instanced.
  9. Grah. T_T While I was reading all that, the slow organ portion of Final Fantasy VI - Dancing Mad was playing. Almost made me tear up.

Your articles (and forum posts) always made for great reading. I really can't think of anything more to say than "Enjoy."
  10. New ATs and Powersets to play in CoH (if you take the time to do the side-switching, whenever that comes available).
  11. [ QUOTE ]
All that I am saying is that I shouldn't have to do hours of research

    [/ QUOTE ]

Five to ten minutes does not equal hours. You know what the greatest tools for digging up info are? Google, Official sites, Stickies, and Search engines on forums. If you know what you're looking for, it won't take all that long.

    [ QUOTE ]
Because some people dont even know what a "Forum" is.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My guess would be that those people haven't been on the internet long. Even so, you don't need a forum. Almost every product has an OFFICIAL SITE where they host a good deal of info about said product.

    [ QUOTE ]
But, we are both entitled to our opinions. (I'm just right, in an alternate universe)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Corrected.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Hmm, that's odd, my box doesn't say anything like that.... no start date to be finalized... So yes, it should be NOW

    [/ QUOTE ]

My point was that the information is out there. Internet: The Information Superhighway. It would be safe to assume that you have access to it, as you're here. So, why is it that you didn't know the details, yet you knew that you could pre-order City of Villains with the promise of getting into Beta? Are you a selective reader? There were emails stating that you could pre-order City of Villains from online stores. It even listed which ones. Those online stores (who had it listed) also listed the details of the pre-order bonus.

Major Life Tip: Look up information on the product you intend to buy/pre-order. Only the foolish act first and ask questions later (this actually applies to a good portion of everyday life). Don't blame a company for your lack of an attention span or your apathy towards information.

An exclusive In-game item-Helm of the Blood Widows

    [/ QUOTE ] Not true
Not everything you see out there is a truth, its mostly misleading
What can u believe now-a-days? If u cant trust marketing campaigns... then who can u trust ?....

    [/ QUOTE ]

It may not be "exclusive," but it's definitely an in-game item that you won't have to earn (either by doing a mission/task force or serving under a specific signature villain) or possibly buy, due to pre-ordering.

They may even change their minds and say that noone but pre-order people can get them. Would that make you happy (even though you're not spending any extra cash by pre-ordering than you would normally, so I don't see why you should get any more special treatment than you already are).
  14. [ QUOTE ]
It doesn't say EVENTUALLY... It says inside this box IS the BETA ACCESS for right NOW!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [ QUOTE ]
    * Beta Access to City of Villains™ (start date to be finalized)
    * Two-day head-start – Play City of Villains before it ships to the public!
    * An exclusive In-game item-Helm of the Blood Widows
    * Limited Edition “Lord Recluse vs. Statesman” City of Villains poster
    * A 14 Day FREE TRIAL for the City of Heroes game for the purchaser of the pre-order AND a friend
    * Bonus CD-ROM includes videos, art, wallpapers, screenshots, Rogue Isles map, the City of Heroes™ comic book and more!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Oh snap.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
They should have atleast said that on the box. It's messed up that they even did that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I see very few people around that thought they'd get immediate Beta access, quite honestly. Heck, even on the sites advertising CoV for pre-order. It clarified that they didn't know when you'd get into Beta. No, this wasn't a new change (at least not on GameStop.com).

    [ QUOTE ]
I canceled my coh account thinking I was going to start CoV the other day. Now I have no account to play till my preorder cd/key comes from them in my e-mail.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Ask first. Leap later.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Pre-Order Box Includes: Beta acess to City of Villians (very first line! #1 selling point!) Not "eventual access to CoV beta when we get around to it at some unknown date just wait and we'll let you know."

    What a rip-off.

Last time I pre-order one of your bait and switch products.

Guess I'll just have to "sit back and wait" ubtil I can get what the box said I was purchasing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It never said "immediate access to City of Villains," either. If one were smart, they'd guess it was access to the final stages of Beta.

So, it wasn't a rip-off. You just assumed wrong and got your hopes up too high.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Also, i was curious if i pre ordered at 2 different places, would i be bale to get both helms?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    No.
  18. I think it's automated, honestly. Having "cancel" in there probably didn't help. You might have been better off calling. Though, if you do RE-pre-order it, I doubt you'll have many problems/concerns. If you're hesitant about ordering online, you may (or may not) be better off just going to the store or having a friend do so.

I got a second pre-order bonus, for my wife, from GameStop for free (but that was the manager/employee's decision, not the store's) by simply playing a game of Paper, Rock, Scissors with the guy.

I've never had a problem with GameStop (both the store and website), so I can't really relate or help much.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
It seems almost common sensical that these two ppl were destined to colide...one day....

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oddly enough, I knew it would happen.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
So only people that preorder are allowed to have a joint subscription?!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I said that upgrading allows you to have the joint subscription. Adding makes it two separate subscriptions.

    [ QUOTE ]
I have to admit even if it did I probably wouldn't have gone and read the instructions but then again a box of tea bags has instructions too but I don't read them every time I go to make tea

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can only assume you've done this as much as you've made tea, then? Cause if it's your first time, it'd be a bit silly to make the comparison.

    [ QUOTE ]
But atleast I know I can always turn to these forums for pleasant, kind folks who have no attitude problems at all and don't give people grief when they mention something or ask something.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And I know that I can always have faith in humanity to read previously presented information. *thumbs up*
  21. [ QUOTE ]
I wish they'd printed out a slip warning me to nt Add Game instead of a brochure that I've already seen 3 other times.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Had you done what the sleeve said to, it would've lead to an instructional page clearly stating to UPGRADE (not add). But I suppose instructions are beyond some.

While you don't seem to care about the headstart or helmet, chances are you'll still get them. However, you probably won't get the joint subscription fee as you added another game instead of combining them. So, the lack of reading instructions has possibly led you to a $30/month track.

    Congratulations. You win the internet.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
wait a minute, so you guys are gonna datamine for that supergroup crap so we can get prestige but you wont datamine for tf's, that doesnt make sense, but hey work hard not smart right?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Since there are about 3 or 4 posts like this, in the previous 6 pages, I'll just say this...

You guys do know that Prestige will play a bigger part in the game than badges, right..? Allow me to explain.

    Prestige = Used to Build/Customize a Base.
Badges = Mostly for show and tell. Only a handful actually yield rewards.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Has anyone who oredered from Gamestop got their discs?

    [/ QUOTE ]

A friend of mine did, last week. I picked one up from the GameStop store. So, yes.

    [ QUOTE ]
Should I call my local Gamestop to make sure?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think you should... and tell them to check every nook, cranny, dungeon, and cabinets for the pre-order bonus... because it would seem that many stores are quite clueless as to City of Villains.

Also, don't get your hopes up on anything SUPER L337 C00L, because it's just a nifty little bonus. Nothing too huge, until they start allowing Pre-orders to get into Beta (which won't be for a while) or just before the game goes Live.

All it leads to is more waiting. *cackles*

I saw this and hit the attic. Dug through some boxes and found my AD&D 2nd edition player's handbook. Opened it up and, there it was. David "Zeb" Cook January 1989, even the "Zeb" was there. I was already excited about CoV but, seeing this made me even more optimistic.
