How about changing the game mechanics so that any Villain which has caused at least 10% damage to a Hero in Siren's Call will be awarded full reputation and bounty if said Hero then flees back to the safety of the Hospital zone?
[/ QUOTE ]
Eh?No.Why should u be awarded full bounty and reputation for someone running to hospital?Since when retreat for regrouping has become an issue? If u cant kill them fast enough certainly try different tactics. And 10% damage only is a bit over the top. There should be no such thing in pvp zones. U get the bounty and rep for the kill not for someone retreating. -

Thats why i said 3 empaths provided they are experienced regarding the entry points and how to move around the aggro and in regard to the PA droppers. The 3rd empath ensures a safety margin of error for any situation. I have tanked hami with only 2 empaths me and SL without a single death from anyone but then again like i said it needs the experience regarding the PA team and the distances from the mitos and your surroundings as well knowing when to use what as an empath. The tanker skill is less of a concern during this situation since he stands there simply taunting and moving around according to needs. We have done a raid with the hami tank having lunch while he was taunting (pre ED though)
I dunno about Elerith but Empath still holds the fastest death record in a raid, the Kamikazee diver award as well as some weird story about removing some knickers from Aerie i think during a raid(which btw are still being looked for :P)
-
[ QUOTE ]
I think two empaths could keep a normal tank alive in there. And it might be safer having a real tank doing taunting for precisely this reason.
[/ QUOTE ]
Pre-mito clearing phase is impossible to keep the Hami-Tank alive with 2 empaths only after ED for 2 reasons
1)The healing blanket that the 2 empaths create to keep themselves alive is not sufficient
2)The healing spam they provide to the hami-tank considering the heal cycle of 1/1 (1heal other,1 heal aura spam which is necessary at initial hami aggro effort) is simply not fast enough and high enough to ensure survivability. The safe number for empaths during that phase starts from 3 (really experienced empaths regarding hami aggro procedure and tanking) or 4-5 if we are talking about a fast hami tank team setup. -

/bind l "say Death Lurks in Shadows $Target!"
Which is followed closely by a royal whipping with AS.
[/ QUOTE ]
The bind u looking for is :
/bind l "say Death Lurks in Shadows $target!$$powexec_name Assasin's Strike"
Hmmmm i got a long list of macros i use i ll try export and post here.
One very useful macro is
/macro WHO "whoall"
allows you to instantly check the people within a pvp zone especially sirens call to see how many villains are about.
/macro GDAY "tell $target, You have just been served my me,Have a nice day $target"
Got some really long ones that i need export
Here are some binds i use for insps
/bind 1 "tell $name, ACC$$inspexec_name insight"
/bind 2 " "tell $name, HP$$inspexec_name respite$$inspexec_name Dramatic Improvement$$inspexec_name resurgence"
/bind 3 "tell $name, DAM$$inspexec_name enrage$$inspexec_name focused rage$$inspexec_name righteous rage"
/bind 4 "tell $name, END$$inspexec_name catch a breath$$inspexec_name take a breather"
/bind 5 "tell $name, DEF$$inspexec_name luck"
/bind 6 "tell $name, DISCIPLINE$$inspexec_name discipline"
These binds actually pop the insps in order and they are made to send a tell to yourself for usage check so you actually know u pressed the right button -
i said to Xanthus on MSN i post it also just so i get your eyes on my avatar
I ll be over Atlantic on a flight back to Geneva or prolly back to Greece by that time but if plane has net like the one i am on now i ll try be there -

I agree totally. 3 out of the last 4 days I cant get my pvp fix cos of duellers, I'm in sirens just now, soloing, hunting my targets who are to lazy to go to the arena.
[/ QUOTE ]
Waste them all and make nice macros warning them they are about to die.I got a nice bunch of macros on my blaster warning my targets they are about to sniped in head with full defiance
[/ QUOTE ]
Hehe. After the 1st one a bit of shouting started, (followed "real" pvp), the craziest line being "I can see now why people were giving u abuse". I didnt know i'd gotten anymore abuse than usual, but I dont see how politely using the zone as intended would warrant abuse from anyone. Oh well, looks like i have macros to work on
[/ QUOTE ]
these are small macroswe talking about big consecutive macros sending tells to target so he has some reading to do

You're correct, English is not my firstt languange and the nuances show sometimes.
When I said education, in English it means 'learning-in-school'. Education, or educação in Portuguese means manners, what mother taught of not eating with one's elbows on the table, covering one's mouth when sneezing, giving our seat to an elder.
That's what I meant, sorry for the confusion.
[/ QUOTE ]
No problem i got confused cause english not my first language as wellAfter reading your clarification i have to agree.

Maybe we should try to list what we think is going too far and ask if the devs could include it?
I can only think of two things really, TP foe into drones and holding a person in some way on purpose so they get debt.
Bottom line is if we cant think of what rules should be in place and we play the game then why should we expect the devs to be able to going by complaints on posts?
Im really not disagreeing with you, but can you give me examples of anything else rules may cover please. A rule saying "No duels in PvP open areas" would be as lame as one saying "Nobody must attack duelers or spectators" IMHO.
Gorgog
[/ QUOTE ]
I ll start with the end. If you read my posts i am really not a fun of duelling in PvP zones simply cause if i want to duel i will use the arena.
Still we cant really tell what rules we want in the pvp zones because we simply dont know the full plan the devs have regarding the PvP zones. Imagine if we ask for a no holding near npc's rule and the devs are planning to remove all debt from pvp zones.
To be honest i really cant think anything right now cause i am on a plane on a cross atlantic trip
It has been shown though that ceetain froms of abuse the devs try to fix such as the base tp issue and the base entry possibilities that existed when PvP zones started.
There are many weak spots right now regarding the PvP zones in Cox that need covering tbh in order to attract a lot of new players. -
[ QUOTE ]
Do we really need more rules though? I think on both sides we can all agree that its bad language and personal put downs that offends the most and those are already against the rules.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes we do for a simple reason. right now there is no clear set of rules when someone is taking some things too far in the PvP zone and there are situations that this happens indeed. A set of rules will ensure that the players have a basis uppon which they can move against another player with petitions. The code of conduct within game as set now is adjusted for PvE but in PvP zones there are so many factors to be taken in consideration that imho there should be some evaluation. There was a thread a while ago about the players setting their own rules. Actually it shouldnt be really expected everyone to follow the rules just because a bunch of players decided what is right and what is wrong. Thats where the Devs come into play. -
[ QUOTE ]
If you attack anyone watching or dueling in Warburg dont be at all suprised if the whole lot turn round in seconds and make you wish you hadnt.
[/ QUOTE ]
You see here is a blur spot. Its wrong to gank a single person with a team in a PvP zone cause its "unethical" but it becomes ethical when a single person takes a kill and uses the zone as intented. But then the ganking is justified. See my point? I dont like this way of thinking tbh cause since the devs have clearly shown the way for the open PvP zones i dont need personally anyone telling me their own rules inside the zones regarding duelling. U are red?u are bound to be attacked.Still i will repeat what i said first week PvP zones started and people moaned like nothing before cause we would kill them repeatedly. We really need a set of clear rules of engagement for this game like any serious pvp game out there so people can finally stop coming up with their own rules and a set of Code of Conduct to finally put an end to some behaviours in PvP zones via petitions that have some basis to be placed uppon. -
[ QUOTE ]
btw, love the use of the word "waste" by TG
[/ QUOTE ]
It's so Chuck Norris -
Congratz Ace well done and well deserved!!
-
[ QUOTE ]
Open PvP shouldnt be a standing invitation to behave like a drunken idiot, but clearly this is the sort of behaviour that's encouraged by devs and rednames, and it's for this reason I've, like you so eloquently proclaimed, picked up my ball and gone to play somewhere else.
[/ QUOTE ]
Duelling is supported by Devs by placing an explicit location where u can duel all you want is called Arena.
Also you seem to generalise a lot about what griefing is which is a bit out of place since you forget the definition of the open PvP zones Cox has
[ QUOTE ]
Its not just 2 people duelling for a few minutes then getting stuck in again. Its a whole load of people in a clique, maybe half the zone+, all lined up ready to duel each other for the duration of there time in the zone. When this happens I find it a bit of a waste being there "oh, my bounty is duelling/spectating" . Sure, they would prolly let me duel if I asked, but duelling to me gets boring fast and theres already a place to do it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I generally try and waste the whole lot of them in these situations duelling or spectating.
[ QUOTE ]
I find it to be just manners and common sense. Perhaps even a matter of education.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is a really discriminating point of view and i totally not accept it. You wanna tell me education has to do with how u behave in a PvP zone? Well fyi there are many non educated people out there that behave a lot better than people with university diplomas and are far more respected. Education has nothing to do with that tbh and i dont think if u have a Chemistry Phd you are bound to be more elegant or kind towards others.
[ QUOTE ]
PvP'ers...walk in, attack, get defeated, get up, smile, carry on!
[/ QUOTE ]
For me this is the most respected thing in a PvP zone. The kills, the build the amount of pwnnage you unleash well all these dont really matter, what makes someone more respected is when he simply enjoys every moment out of it win or lose. Every time someone gets defeated and simply comes back and keeps trying trying different things is what i respect most, outnumbered or not ganked or not. This separates a lot of players in a PvP zone since you see the ones that are all talk on broadcasts while its few players in there and when things heat up they start leaving the zone.
As for duels etc, it really depends on my mood to be honest. The zones were not designed for duels and thats the bottom line. Allowing a duel is not really a thing of manners but a thing of how u feel at the moment. Usually i will start with the spectators first...then waste slowly the rest.
[ QUOTE ]
to verbally abuse, cause offence to anyone that has attacked you in a PvP zone is unacceptable!

Anyone that does that is a moron and should be petitioned -

Stamina is not a must in PvP. Build around the attack cycles good and you wont have any issues.

I got another 1. The other day i was in Sirens again with a couple of villains. Yet again there was a group of about 7 lvl 35-50 Heroes doin what they do best,Ganging on 1 lower lvl villain with everything, which this time happened to be me. After sneaking an attack on 1,i left back to the villain base, right by an arbiter drone. So the stupid vengeance orientated heroes that were attacking me,rush in to kill me before being vapourised,unfotunately....it didnt work.every last 1 of em was vapourised and sent right back to their base. IDIOTS
[/ QUOTE ]
Funny u say this cause the Drone doesnt hit all the people together so if they all attack some of them should have killed you unless it was more than one drones. -
Q congratz!!! its been a long way with Q and i know its been a bit furstrating at some point so this is even bigger that u made it
Sorry i couldnt be there to celebrate but irl kept me away from internet all week...
