if you consider changing to SS 2 slotted and fly 3 slotted you are much faster trailing stalkers.All you need is an auto follow bind and a toggle bind from fly to SS.You wont believe how fast they die while running away.
As for defiance..well yeah is a powerful build.With no damage slotting you cap your damage at max and fire a snipe of around 700dmg..the follow up is deadly. -

Just to let you on a small secret here.AR snipe has knockdown.Pretty much covers the gap for the follow up shot and the animation.This means that while the stalker for 2 seconds is being knocked i am loading second follow up snipe .By time he is going to hit heal i am firing.

Stalkers are 2 shot dead.3rd shot kills the regens that heal
4 shots take down a brute.MM goes down in 1 corruptor in 2.Dominator in 2 also. The 3rd shot is usually if there is some heal going on.

I am sorry to say this but its a big true.Focused PvP AR build simply is pants in pvp.I pretty much had to leech a lot during levels 32-42 that i specced a pvp build since my dmg output in pve was pathetic....and i didnt take the "good" powers of the set for pve like ignite -

Like i explained this build and type of playstyle requires loads of patience to get the hand of it. You die extremely easy and even a brawl can take you down.So this means you die a lot. The trick is fly high and get them before they get you.if you are asking about LRM i think is underestimated in PvP just like Assault Rifle is. An AoE extreme range snipe is awsome imho. -

Just because there is one idiot on the villains side like the one tonight plus one on the hero side that is well known for a long time doesnt mean A WHOLE COMMUNITY will sit back and just let people like this trash the place. So hearing it wont happen is not really on my list and it wont be just because of 2 tools. i am gonna go forward with trying to organise this and we ll just work together trying to show to some new people good fun. -

I know its not a FoTM build and prolly people still prefer to go Fire or energy or Elec but i always want to be creative to my builds.I picked the defiance thing that i like from a friend that used it (Thanks Xiro) and ellaborated on that and built a toon around this with lots of testing and thought about the powers and tactics i would use. Yeah is not min/max build but hey U wanna see a target?i ll see it for you and light it up.You wanna take out silently a target i am the one that will do for you and will live to tell after cause noone will know who did it.No trailing no combat log nothing.Worse than a stalker imho.I still laugh at broadcasts "what killed me!?" or people thinking they do insane damage when i shoot from above and move on. -

Yes indeed.Is a defiance build that needs to cap defiance to perform at max and this is how i play it.Point of this build is 3 functionality goals
1)Targeter: Basically light up targets for the team.A team using assist command and me calling the targets from the air and lighting them up with long range slug shots so team can see them
2)Precise sniping: PFF MM's, Eluded stalkers,flying dominators and corruptors are the targets that get priority while targeting.After that just snipe anything that moves.
3)Extreme team sniping: This is sort of an idea i came up with.Full teams that gather and keep it tight together :
Snipe 1st target (usually MM for one shotting)+LRM at full defiance (AoE snipe) and follow up with a full auto on full defiance (hence the range slotting on full auto).Add up the dmg caused and u ll see the scary result

This is where shot trailing comes in game.Fire,Energy,elec set shot are tracable to target.Sniping from 190 yards and exiting with 3 slotted fly if u miss is sort of untracalbe if performed correctly

Not if u test the same shot on the same mob 2 times.First time at full defiance and 3 dmg enh second time full defiance and no dmg enh.You will come up with something really interesting
The amount of accuracy on this build is scary especially for those PFF MM's that laugh behind their PFF and suddenly go whiskey tango foxtrot on broadcast from one shotting through PFF

Vengeance at 1hp combined with 3 slotted stealth believe me makes huge difference.As soon as someone dies from team i land pump and i am up up and away again. -

Yeah tp foe on tripmines is not my focus.Too much stationary time for a pvp zone which i dont really like.
Here is a view of my build although its not the final build just an indication of the slotting and powers i pick.If you want i can make out an exact build when i hit 50.Notice that this build is focused on low firing downtimes and maximum movement speed after firing initial shot giving minimum time to target to evade.I also use a variety of macros that toggle fly to SS and set auto follow on target so that stalkers trying to evade follow up hit with defiance dont stand much like with 3 slotted SS

This is why AR is much more suited for stalker sniper builds.Its true you will need Defiance to perform and is tricky and will take a lot of deaths to master it (i am now to the open where i perform around 10kills for 1 of mine usually unless there are people that specifically know me and chase me around) and loads of practise. Shot trailing back to the sniper is a big issue although not many think of it. AR gives u the total cover of trailing plus makes you invisible in combat log thus making this a really hurtful experience. -

Well this is pretty much the idea i had. To organise 1 or 2 nights per weeks in the next few weeks and assemble all PvP newcomers at Sirens Call hero base and Villains base respectively.Then spread the hardcore PvP players across teams with the inexperienced people and have some bashing going on maybe even at the hotspots for control of Sirens. While this goes on we can have the hardcore pvpers maybe helping out people and answering questions and providing help and tactics. At the end of the night we can have a "rookie of the night" award and maybe couple of more rewards for new players. Imho it can boost PvP attendance within the zones and bring more casual and light players to try PvP and get the adrnaline rush.
If people like this idea i can work out the details and make a separate thread with all details and maybe start promote it within game too as well as trying to set up something with VG's out there. -

I think we also need to focus more on team PVP as solo PVP clearly is not suited for everyone. The most fun I've had in PVP has always been in a team. Same as in PVE really.

Well tbh if we really want this to work we ll have to count a lot on the hardcore pvpers of Defiant.PD's,HU,Sanity,Daggers boys,Ainur,ANBU etc will have to help all together to pull this through, that is of course if they are interested in expanding PvP population or simply let it die away -

Ah okay maybe I wasn't making myself clear, yes i am a PvPer, I am one of those few who try and use arena when it is open but I am interested in trying to make the arena more popular and have more organised battles, Why in your people do defiant not use the arena? I had organized a few free for all battles long time ago, aswell as a couple of teammatches, but then again there is always a lack on interest in the arena why is that?
As for PvP zones, its a mixture, sometimes it can be real busy others it can't, yes it normally if TG is there it is busy, but if someone calls heroes and villains wanted in sirens for battle, most of the time no one is there to answer, along with anyone want a team battle in the arena? no one replies, look at PDs no one wants to fight them, they even offer to mix up players just form team battle still no one replies. Why is this? I just would like to know each of your opinions.

I am thinking to create a series of events to introduce more people and more casual players to the pvp zones. A small idea i had was to try and set up with the regular pvpers broadcasts inviting people who want a fun relaxed night in sirens call to join our teams.Same from the villains side then fight it out for control.Maybe setup some prizes too like
-rookie of the night
-Kill record of the night
-Best cossie of the night
And stuff like this that would add some flavour to the PvP environment.Its a bit optimistic i know but imho if many people work on this we could see PvP picking up a lot i think and giving people a different look at it.
This would require the regular PvPers to drop the usual "spanking mode" and just turn up in casual toons for some good relaxed fun.I dunno but i think is possible then again i always was optimistic.
As far as union goes there is far more activity due to base raiding.Base raiding requires proper bases which in turn requires LOTS of PvE.So imho i think PvP zones are more busy in Defiant however the base raiding is more regular and established on Union. Judging by the posts on the Union boards it seems that a lot of SG/VG consider as PvP on Union Base Raids which is only a small part of PvP on this game imho -
erm no..?i just logged from sirens where there is a massive battle going on in the middle!!?? 35k bounty collected and loads and loads of people and good fun there tonight.Except when certain usual suspect appeared on his blaster and spammed some [censored] on broadcast as usual and then played victim.

I agree. I never saw the point of going "/b Oooo I am uber leet! You cant kill me 1on1" That kind of stalker is the type I hunt down in warbug. They are annoying, childish and ill mannerd. When they die, I get the feeling of good riddance to bad rubbish. Though, on Union (don't know about Defiance) There isn't to much of that type of broadcast chat, from what I've seen atleast.

I see your point, for the avrage player that don't use hero planner or troll the forums, it is very hard to come up with a challenge torwards the stalker. A solution to this problem, I am afraid is far in the future and would require allot of planning. It is not a walk in the park issue, imo.

Problem is exactly that Cryptic never designed Hero AT's for PvP.In order to deal with stalkers you need highly sepcialized hero builds that can actually perform exclusive stalker hunting.When i decided create a stalker hunter i had to create such a specialised hero build that it cannot perform in PvE AT ALL,while an average built stalker even from new players can perform relativelly well in a PvP zone.
Issue here is not so much the unbalance between hero and villain functionality but the mentallity of new players that thinking that by performing well on a stalker that gives them right to abuse on broadcasts or tells and this is a growing phenomenon in the PvP zones.Its cryptics fault the way PvP is designed imho too since right now there are so many initiatives to roll a stalker for PvP and none of the rest AT's.PvP zones in RV will empty pretty fast when the really organised and tactical teams enter the zone and decimate stalker teams for fun.

Stalkers have it easy in PvP, I am not denying that. I have taken the habbit to tell people who brag, missbehave and so on in broadcast etc, that their behaviour is not appriciated and that I ask them nicely to stop. The skill is fine, true some people get one shotted, but hey there is nothing stopping them from getting health increase powers, thus stopping the 1-shot. I don't need stealth, but I decided to take it to increase my survival time.

I personally dont mind the one shoting at all.But the problem is there are no health increasing powers for squishies except in epic pools for some unlike the villains side with the cold corruptors buffing the hp. The only way to get some buffing is to get accolades which not everyone knows how to or is willing to get them -

What I have gatherd is that in 1on1, stalkers have a major advantage vs most other AT builds. But thats a perk of our AT, put me up against a team of 2 or 3 and then 9 times out of 10 it will be me dieing. People seem, as in so many other MMOs I have played, be upset that they ain't able to kill whatever comes along in a 1on1, or are upset that the oponent ain't as "brave" as them.

As a side note, can't find the post now, but someone said that Stalkers is a complete AT. I figure, yes so they are. And the reason for that being that stalkers are pretty much focused around 1 component. Their abillity to hide. Allot of other "uncomplete" ATs have the abillity to do allot more, holds here, nukes there, heals and so on. Thus making them more Jacks off all trades. Maby this is why some people find their ATs lacking? That they are not specialized enough in a certain area?
