I got too involved in teaching myself basic coding... Overlooked this <.<;
Gonna upload all this tomorrow at work, along with the small piece I done.
I also have a tutorial on the way... need more free time to get round to finish and polish it properly.
Anyone got an idea for a theme?
I was thinking hungover villain/hero in the arena.
Any thoughts? -
They put all the nominations on little pieces if paper, put in a hat and send it to NCsoft US. I hear Origami is practiced over there as a stress reliever =P
-
We're getting closer to the 15th. o/
I'll add my submission in it tomorrow and upload all drawings in one long strip =D
Please, if you have any other ideas for a subject post it up =D -
Same as you Fury_BoB_Doc. I downloaded Quicktime Alternative and re-installed it over Quicktime (since I think it's an annoying player anyway) and it worked fine.
About the video itself, Captain_Morgan said it best I think.
My 2 cent:
Maybe get the transitions and shots more in sync with the music. -
Programs depends on what you intend to do, becasuse they all have their strengh and weakenesses.
Photoshop CS2
Is the image manipulation program chosen by professionals. The most powerful and probably the priciest too.
Painter IX.5
As A Mother's Love stated in another thread, this stands as the most powerful digital art program with an amazing brush engine. Can be very demanding on your PC's ressources, specially when layers start to add up and you're going nuts with that watercolour brush..
PaintShop Pro
Never used it. Or maybe once. I see it as a Photoshop wannabe. Definitely cheaper though and probably gets the job done.
Teh Gimp
No Pvc suit nor body long zipper here. The gimp is pretty handy if you're broke but has a horrible interface and even though it's free to download, it still doesn't seem too stable.
The Gimpshop
GIMPShop is a free Open Source image editor that is similar to the popular Adobe Photoshop. Specifically GIMPShop is a version of the GIMP that has been edited to be more user-friendly for Photoshop users.
Open Canvas 4/plus
Let me say this: using OpenCanvas and a tablet is like creamy sex.
>.>
<.<
....*cough*
OpenCanvas4 is a great painting and illustration software with a lot of new and improved features for not only experienced artists but also novices.
It's cheap enough but because it's made in Japan, you might find it a challenge to deal with their customer services. However, they are very friendly and will help you when necessary.
(7,800Yen is roughly 35.8£ or 52.68)
I have and used them all but Photoshop becomes the essential program I always come back to thanks to its versatilty.... -
Great initiative!
If this works, I'm nominating you for September's Creative Genius.
Nice one ^^ -
Well I like it!
There is a nice sense of movement and depth.
However, is her leg wrapped by the bow? o_O
Keep it up! -
Nice guide!
Unfortunately, the more frames you have in the sequence, the bigger the size of the gif = poor quality avatar to match board size allowance.
:/ -
I love the smirk that character has =D
Also kudos on the hands (not the cats ones =P), they are just wow! -
Nice one guys!
Didn't think this would generate any interest, so yay us!.
I been chuckling away at some of those.
Also updated all the DA accounts in the member list so no worries there, Blackdove ^^
Your DA account belongs to you and you can upload anything you want. I'll just add your CoX pics as favorites in the CoF page.
If I you need any help on managing your DA page, let me know. If I have the answers, they are mine to share. =P -
Typical!
xD
Nice one guys, keep em' coming! ^^
I'll compile them all and upload them on the CoF page mid month =D
NB: Submit as many as you wish! -
Great party guys, great turnout!
Nice one FG for playing some Gary Moore \o/ -
Cool stuff!
I guess we could start with something simple just to see how well this would actually work
Well then, here goes:
Theme: Your funniest Tank experience, wether you were the tank or not.
Think of it as a moment to visually express a funny idea or to tell an experienced in-game story =D
Medium: any (except ms paint =P)
Format: one single pane
Submission date: 15th of September
I invite you to send me any ideas you have for a theme drawing as they probably would prove to be better than mine =)
I'll upload every drawing in the COF gallery.
It's not a competition so there ain't no prize as such, more of a personal reward!
Questions/suggestions welcome!
Just have fun doing it =D -
Sweet!
Deviant Supergroup =P
>>im not much of an artist (no realy)
if you have any sort of hand drawn or hand writen material just upload it on DA it's free =D
Heck, even if you just want to have a DA account for the buzz, you're in too!
For those interested, I was thinking of maybe having a bi-monthly or monthly kind of themed drawing ie.:"what was the worst situation you ended up in after travel power lag/ruberbanding?" or "what would a hero look like the morning after a wild party at Pocket D".
Just a thought of course. -
Updated.
Good to see there are a few so far =D
Anyone else? ^^ -
I started a City of Fanart Deviant account.
City of Fanart EU
Let me know if this sounds ridiculous or if you're interested in joining ^^
No need to submit anything, the goal for this is to be a repertoir of members with DeviantArt accounts who wish to be part of a community.
Feedback or vicious flames welcome ^^ -
I'd like to see more =D
Even though it seems a little early to fully see the bigger picture.. do you have maps to add on to that, even if un-rendered? -
Great Idea Zortel!
I was thinking of starting a EU COH fanart group on Deviant just to have all profiles and works in one place.
Will get back to yous if I see that there is interest.
Zortel:
First of all: Very good sense of masse/depth.
I can't see any trace of construction lines and I think that's why you lost the sense of proportions (back leg and arm)
I like the torso/ribcage as they seem quite accurate.
Last thing that jumps at my eye is the pencil strokes. Very stagered. Maybe try loosening up your wrist a little?
Will do a quick draw-over tonight when I get home.
Edit: if this thread takes off, can Bridger sticky it pwetty please? -
>>>But from what you describe in your original post i feel you would get most satisfaction and results from Corels' application.
Ditto
>>>Ive done 1 drawing since i got some new paints, and thats anime based, so i could post that, but it wouldnt go very well in these forums
Got a Deviantartaccount?
Edit:
Actually, because of you Mother, I'm tempted to reopen Painter 9. Been a while since I used it now =P -
