Obviously you have forgotten that there are 3? (why do I keep thinking it is supposed to be 4?) degrees of Death.

    1 - a little bit dead
    2 - Mostly Dead
    3 - Dead dead

with MOSTLY dead, you can still bring him back to life.

besides every one knows that Spock is his own clone, right?

LOL, actually I do have one. It's not very big, and has a tendency to be a bit dry, but it is there.

I have read some of the Zanth novels, I love Piers' writing (Adept, Incarnations of Immortality, Bio of a Space Tyrant, Mode), but even in the Zanth novels, the puns all made me groan. Never read Discworld, sadly.

I guess for memes to work for me I would have had to be at the beginning. Thanks for the post on "The Cake is a Lie", but as I never played Portal or talked to anyone who did, it made no sense to me. Now that it is in context, I understand what it means. Doesn't make it any funny tho.
  3. Went to the 'meme' website in the first post, looked it up in Wiki (both kinds) and I have to say I still didn't get it.

The problem, I guess, is that I tend to ignore most if not all puns (seriously, is there such a good thing as a Good Pun?), and anything that I see as an attempt to subvert a statement or picture from its original meaning.

When I was looking at the memes that had been submitted to that website, I Did Not Understand Any Of Them! And I took the time to read/look at the top 100 listed. Not One Clue.

sorry, but I'm bowing out of this one.

edit: "The Cake is a lie"? never heard of that statement/comeback line.

You have complained in the past. It is all that I have said. Given what you have complained about in the past, it is very likely that you will complain again givien a similar scenario. No?

To me it feels like I've been taken advantage of. That I was lured into spending my money to buy one thing and then what I bought automagically becomes something different than what I paid for and I am told to "suck it up". Maybe I am wrong to be upset? But who wouldn't feel that way in a non-virtual situation?
You use the terms "Feels like . . . " and "Lured". Where is your evidence that you were lured? How; what were the circomstances? You are knowingly (I assume) playing a game that is in constant flux. In what way were you deceived?

Are you wrong to be upset? That is very subjective. However, in most things we should not forget that most people will listen politely and usually with empathy to the first complaint. But patience wears thin when it seems to be the only thing that can be talked about. That applies to me as well. So now that I've said my piece, I will allow the conversation to continue. :P

This sort of issue should have been dealt with before these procs ever hit the market. Still, again, not the point.

The point as I have said it before is that I have no problem with them making the change. I do however feel it is wrong to change a product people spent real money on after the fact and offer no way for the customer to return said product which does not function as it did when they purchased it. It's like buying a stereo to listen to your favorite station and the manufacturer decides to remote firmware it so it cant tune in your station anymore. Sure the stereo still tunes in other stations and you can listen to music but it is no longer the product you paid for. It is now something you'd never have bought. THAT is where my issue is. If they were to grandfather the old procs or for a limited time allow people who bought the SBE's because of how they worked to return them for a refund I would have NOTHING to complain about.
Yes you would! Everytime you spend your precious money on this game and they change something after the fact, YOU will complain. This is not your first complaint, I doubt very much it will be your last.

What you forget is that there NO GUARANTEES in this Game, or any other for that matter. In fact I can think of a Producer that has an annoying habit of buying successful IPs and then "Fixing" them, to only have them fail quite quickly.

I dislike the term NERF. In this game there is no such thing as a NERF. What everyone forgets is that this is a constantly evolving and growing World. As such there will always be confilicts, and when those conflicts arise a compromise solution MUST be found to enable the world to continue to grow and evolve. Every Devoloper and Producer who forgets that one simple rule, ends up with a failed IP. Be glad that we have a team of Developers that do their best (as openly as they are allowed) to let us know when these conflicts arise (assuming Acrcanaville, Zombie Man, Samuel Tow and other don't catch them first), and work on finding solutions for those conflicts; with our input as much as possible.
  6. For the most part I loved the final episode. I liked the "loose threads" tie up after the conference, although it could have been slowed down just a tiny bit, trying to read it aloud for my son, I found it very hard to keep up with the pacing of the cutscene.

I would have loved to see a cutscene of the rocket ride into space itself, instead of stepping through a portal. You are told there is a rocket at the Vanguard base, so we should have walked into a room/silo with the rocket and have the cutscene showing you climbing in and blasting off.

Jump should be enhanced on that "Island in Space" (now why did the music from Giligan's Island just pop into my head?), even if we flying off into space, once you break the threshold of Earth's gravity, you wouldn't need as much force to keep moving in orbit.
  7. My vote is definitely for Mirror Spirit.

P.P.P.S. I had to change my signature and I love this quote. It was either that or, "Be cool, Soda Pop." (Someone should know who uttered that and in what movie.)
    Veronica in "Veronica Mars"

Wallace was complaining about being in a bad scene from "The Outsiders", when Veronica responded with "be cool, Soda Pop".

I really didn't like that movie, but the expression was just too cute/sarcastic to forget.
  9. I must be one of the few people who hasn't seen this at all. I have a wide-screen, using it in the recommended setting, and have never had a problem with the game running in WS. No black bars, no flickers when I zone, no re-sizing.

Wait. I just double checked what I was seeing. In the Character Creator it is set as 4:3 aspect ratio. I think tho that this is WAI? Remember they have to account for the LCD (Lowest Common Denominator). Not everyone running a rig has a widescreen! For me the game itself runs in 16:9 with no zoning or re-sizing issues.

We call ourselves the Great White North for a reason ya know. Mostly because it scares the Yanks away with vision of being cold, wet and miserable; living in Igloos and riding dog-sleds everywhere you go.

SO, more facts to go along with the lack of Zig breakouts and lack of Outbreak Cure.

The Vindicators are now the Guardians, and it's not MRS. Liberty, not Ms.

Manticore is the same for MOST of the comic books that we've been given, except that he went over to Arachnos for REAL and not undercover as stated in one arc.

Anyone want to take another look at our new wallpaper? Courtesy of Arctic Sun himself. Maybe, just maybe one of the new zones will involve travel to the jungles of South America and stopping the new machinations of Lord Recluse and family there. Because it's a sure bet that Recluse has discovered something there worth his time; and it ain't cleaning up "rebels".
