  2. Oh, oh, oh - this thread is just awesome. But Lionsbane, honey, you have to be a man to get away with calling people "boy", you know that.

    [ QUOTE ]
    I really like you though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Do have to hand it to you, though. This is the best line in the entire thread.

Talking of puddings, Ecky-Thump for scrappers, tankers stalkers and brutes.

And I'm old enough not to have needed to look up the reference. Oh yeah... want this one, but I think it would be horribly overpowered.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And I'm old-fashioned enough to have made the even older reference which spawned this one.

But yes, it should have been Ranged - it was very early, and it's been a long time since I heard that episode.

  6. It's still less than all the money I've spent travelling up and down the country to see the friends I've made in the game.

Although this year will almost certainly be my last paying for and playing CoH/V; and if it wasn't for the fact that money will be going on gas, electricity, water, TV licenses, phone bills and food - I'd probably be able to work out how much I'll be saving.
  7. The US players are so widespread they need incentive to go to these events. A simple, "Hey guys come have a gaming weekend with us" isn't going to encourage a NYer to travel across the entire country. So, they've got to promise them something.

The EU players are, to a fault, mostly in the same area. There are lots of players from mainland Europe of course, but I would estimate the majority of us are in the UK - much cheaper, and easier to travel around than the giant which is the US. So simple gaming meets here are going to attract a fair few people.

Our meets are much more about meeting up with friends, than pestering devs for information we'll get eventually anyway.

I wouldn't trade our informal meets for their official meets anyday.

    1) NC come out as a caring developer
    2) People can donate, and show their support in game
    3) The charity is supported

    [/ QUOTE ]

These have already been achieved with NCsoft's partnership with DTWT (perhaps not so much #2).

It's a wonderful idea you have, certainly - but it's useful to bear in mind NCsoft already do do their bit for charity, with the help of their customers.
  9. ...aaaaaanyway, hopefully everyone's seen ROCKJAW'S MOST RECENT BLOG POST! and will send them off in the traditional gamer nerd way.

By getting completely and utterly rata... shi-- ...Ratfaced.

Y'know, rather than online bickering about the Best Way™ to say goodbye.

Thank you all - over and over - I know now for sure that it this is something worth fighting for.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Damn straight it's worth fighting for!

K, you're so many kinds of awesome - I don't know how you do it, but managing to remember everyone you meet at the various meets, and greeting them so warmly the next time you see them... it makes us feel special.

It was you who kept me company when I was so mercilessly abandoned at the Omega Sektor - and stood outside with me in the cold whilst I succumbed to the vile habit that is cigarettes; and for that I'll always be grateful.

You're a great guy, and a great friend.

Next, “adult” only boards. I don’t have the figures, so this is based on personal experience, but I believe there should be an “adult” board, where some of the forum rules are a little more relaxed. For example, users can have adult conversations, discuss politics, relationships, love life, jobs etc. Let the forum become a place where people can turn to for help and advice. We have a lot of users, and therefore a lot of life experience. We can learn from each other, and help each other when there is no one else to turn to.

Looking on the brighter side - if I lived in New York, I'd put Carrie (Sex and the City, not Stephen King) to shame. And not due to my snappy one-liners, or fashion sense. Much.

What kind of school did you go to? o.0

The muscles would be the midlife crisis bit. The face would be the PE teacher bit. He's just... I don't know, but I find him highly unattractive (and the muscles just make me gag).
