  1. At this point you earn the Arachnos Rising history badge and the Demonic and Megalomanic accolades.

    Anarchist exploration badge (Invader)
Found in the Founder’s Falls mayhem mission map (3801.9 4.3 2687.2).

    Explore Grandville (Demonic, Marshal, Potato)
    2 Arachnos Rising history plaques (1724, -459, 1514; 2764, -340, 794)
    Overlord exploration badge (1358, -441, -596.5)
Master of the Airwaves exploration badge (2726, 734, 1043)

    Explore Recluse’s Victory (Megalomaniac)
    Last Stand exploration badge (1081.4, 0.1, -135.9)
  2. Many of these missions take place in Warburg, where you are limited to level 38, thus the unusual level maximum on these tasks. Completing these gives you the Force of Nature accolade.

    Brickhouse exploration badge (Invader)
Found in the Brickstown mayhem mission map (-161.4 0.5 -147.3).

    Crystal Keeper (Pain)
Complete the Ice Mistral strike force in St. Martial.

    Surging (Potato)
Complete the Ice Mistral strike force in St. Martial.

    Explore St. Martial (Marshal, Potato)
    1 Arachnos Rising history plaque (456, 33, 1230)
    Crimelord exploration badge (-895, 10, -1496)

    Explore Warburg (Marshal, Megalomaniac)
    1 Arachnos Rising history plaque (-1038, 100, -816)
Weapon of Mass Destruction exploration badge (-768, 144, 0)
    Triumphant exploration badge (228, 274, 32)
  3. If you complete all of these, you should get the High Pain Threshold accolade.

Talon of Talos exploration badge (Invader)
Found in the Talos Island mayhem mission map (-1438.6 160.0 6876.9).

    Bad Luck (Pain)
Complete the Steal artifact from Tavaris mission by Hard Luck.

    Deathless (Pain)
Pay off 5,000,000 Debt. If you manage the other (Pain) tasks here before level 29, you will get High Pain Threshold as soon as you get this badge. I do not recommend dying just to get the debt; all the accolade does is make you die less.
  4. Tyrannical exploration badge (Invader)
Found in the Independence Port mayhem mission map (-1194 -32 -2669).

    Soul Taker (Demonic)
Complete the Offer Soul of Akarist mission by Archmage Tarixus.

    Explore Nerva Archipelago (Pain)
Locked and Loaded exploration badge (3286, 126, 3644)
  5. The reason to get Lorekeeper this early is because it opens up Archmage Tarixus, who you can access at level 25.

    Steel Worker exploration badge (Invader)
Found in the Skyway City mayhem mission map (-648, -41, -4031).

    Strikebreaker (Megalomaniac)
Complete the Bust up the dockworker's strike mission by Lorenz Ansaldo.

    Man/Woman in Black (Megalomaniac)
Defeat 100 Shivans. (Don't feel like hunting in Bloody Bay? Farm the all Shivan mission from Marshall Brass instead! All Shivan types count.)

    Strike Buster (Potato)

Explore Cap au Diable (Demonic, Pain)
    1 Lorekeeper history plaque (-1711, 0, -1108)

  6. Road Raged exploration badge (Invader)
Found in the Skyway City mayhem mission map (-648, -41, -4031).

    Paragon of Vice (Marshal)
Complete the Defeat all Arachnos personnel mission by Willy Wheeler.

    Spider Smasher (Pain)
Defeat 100 Wolf Spiders to earn this badge. Only the Wolf Spiders level 20 or below count. (Very easy)

    Gangbuster (Pain)
Kill 200 Family (Marcone) Bosses. (An 8 person team hunting throughout southern and northern Port Oakes is the best bet.)

    Electrician (Potato)
Defeat 200 Demons in Cap Au Diable. (Follow the scaffolding in Cap au Diable. It leads the way to 5 generators where anywhere from 4-6 gremlins spawn. Also, fighting and defeating Deathsurge in northern Diable counts for 50 gremlin kills.)

    Coldhearted (Demonic)
Kill 250 Hellfrosts or Hordelings. (Start at the south eastern part of the map in Diable Mountain in Cap au Diable. Then work your way north and all the way west along the north coast. Continue this circle.)
  7. Kingmaker exploration badge (Invader)
Found in the King’s Row mayhem mission map (-252.1 -42 -2514.8).
  8. This is where it all begins. As in all level ranges, there is an exploration badge in a mayhem mission to be found, and this one is very easy to outlevel.

    Global Threat exploration badge (Invader)
Found in the Atlas Park mayhem mission map (1542.8 0.0 660.5).

    The Mongoose (Marshal)
    Defeat 25 Snakes. (Very easy.)
  9. This is a badge hunting guide focused on accolades. It is for villains who don’t care too much about badges, but don’t want to miss out on the accolades. It is set up as a number of tasks that you should before certain levels. If you complete all these tasks, you will get all the accolades. Many tasks have a maximum level after which you will either not get experience for them, or be unable to do them at all, so look ahead.

This guide is a compilation, and not based on personal research. All my data comes from other sites, I have merely sorted and analyzed it. My main source is City Information Terminal . I also heartily recommend Vidiot Maps . It is entirely based on these sources and not on personal experience – I have no villain accolades as yet and wrote this to aid myself when looking for them.

Throughout, I use the coordinate system built into the City of Heroes engine. You get your current coordinates using the /loc command.

    Introducing the Accolades

There are seven accolades you can earn in the City of Villains, and they are supposed to correspond to the seven accolades of City of Heroes. I do not count special accolades, like the ones that let you respect or which only grant a costume piece. The accolades are listed in the order you will get them if you follow this guide.

    High Pain Threshold (Hereafter Pain)
Level 35 (no minimum). A 10% increase in hit points. This corresponds to the hero accolade Freedom Phalanx Reserve Member.

    Force of Nature
Level 40 (no minimum). Increase your recharge speed, Endurance recovery, and Accuracy for 1 minute. Defense will be severely reduced. Long recharge (guesstimate 25 minutes). Corresponds to the Geas of the Kind Ones hero accolade.

    Demonic
Level 45 (no strict minimum). This is a 25-minute-recovery click power that grants a lot of resistance and defense to all but psi, at the cost of speed, recharge and accuracy. This corresponds to the Hero accolade Archmage.

    Megalomaniac
Level 45 (minimum 40). This is a 25-minute-recovery click power that doubles the duration of all your Disorient, Hold, Immobilize, Fear, Confuse and Sleep powers. Knockback distance is also increased. This corresponds to the Hero accolade Vanguard.

    Invader
Level 50 (no minimum). +5% hit points. Equivalent to the Task Force Commander accolade for heroes.

    Couch Potato (Hereafter Potato)
Level 50 (no minimum). This is a 25-minute-recovery click power attack that immobilizes. Corresponds to the hero accolade Conspiracy Theorist.

    Marshal
Level 50 (Minimum 45). +5% Endurance. This corresponds to the Hero accolade Received the Atlas Medallion.
  10. Ops, completely missed out on the Task Force Commander accolade. GUess it was too easy. Just do each Task Force from I to VI.

There is always a reason to make a next version.
  11. This guide replaces two previous versions. I may make one for City of Villains as well in the future, but the villain accolades are much more chaotic.

And to answer a common question; the order you do things does not matter; the order I list things in is just for convenience.
  12. The end tier, where you get the last accolades – Freedom, Portal, and Archmage. Some of these tasks are monumental – in particular the Illusionist and Dimensional Warder badges.

    Multidimentional - Portal
Do the “Go to the Hydra's dimension and learn anything you can” mission given by Tina Macintyre.

    Dimensional Warder – Portal
The AVs are (in order of appearance): Anti-Matter from Tina Macintyre's Story Arc.
Chimera, Shadowhunter, Nightstar, Siege, Bobcat, Neuron, Battle Maiden, Black Swan, Malaise, Mother Mayhem, Infernal, Diabolique, Dominatrix, & Marauder from Maria Jenkins' Story Arc (Tyrant not required). These arcs run from level 40-44 to and 45-50. The hard part is to get Antimatter before level 45.

    Illusionist - Archmage
Kill 200 Illusion pets from the Master Illusionist (Carnies) This one requires patience. It will go faster with more people. The more Master Illusionists you can keep busy, making them spawn Illusion pets, the faster this can go. Once the Master Illusionist spawns her 3 Illusion pets wait for them to unphase, then hit them once. Just once is all that is required to get credit for the kill.

    Shrouded - Portal
Complete mission “Disrupt Nightstar's ritual” given by Maria Jenkins at level 45-50.
  13. This is where you begin to cash in on previous work. By level 40, you should have the Conspiracy and Vanguard accolades as well as the Scholastic and Savant history badges. If you do the Unveiler badge by now, you will also get Freedom. Solo players often run out of missions at level 38 or so – hunting Fake Nemesis can be a worthwhile activity at this time.

    Sould Binder - Archmage
    200 Circle of Thorns mages
Any number of Circle of Thorns missions, or hunt them in the south of the Hollows or in Dark Astoria. The reason why it is listed so late is that you will probably have it anyway by now.

    The Doctor’s Ally - Conspiracy
Do the “Read the email from the Doctor” mission given by Gordon Stacy. You can only get this mission in the 35-39 level range.

    Zookeeper - Vanguard
    1000 Rikti Monkeys
Monkey Island in Peregrine Island, Crey’s Folly, or in any number of Rikti missions.

    Infiltrator - Conspiracy
    100 Crey Paragon Protectors
You find these in the remote parts of Eden, but it is better to do them in Crey missions.

    Unveiler - Freedom
    100 Fake Nemesis
These are hunted east of the shop in Peregrine Island or in level 40 and higher Nemesis missions. A good time to spend the time just before level 40 if you can manage; there are often teams formed for this purpose.

Explore King’s Row – Archmage, Atlas, Freedom - Vidiot Map. This is the first exploration task. To save time later on, you will only explore each zone once, picking up any badges and history plaques you need for all accolades in one sweep. Do the sites in order and you will end up well situated for the next zone. Note that the Pupil badge is a history badge, awarded after clicking all the history plaques in a certain set. So are the Authority and Savant badges you will be hunting for later.

Top Dog - Atlas - (135, 315, -340) On top of Atlas' globe

    Gearsmasher - Freedom
Defeat 100 Clockwork Gears – these spawn form defeated Clockwork bosses.
This is really a task in the 5-20 level range, but since it is so easy and to keep the guide simple it is listed here. Do the Synapse task force, or go to Faultline, to complete this.

    Finder - Vanguard
    Defeat 100 Lost bosses.
This is really in the 5-20 level range too. Lost bosses abound in the south-central part of Skyway City, or you can offer to help people do their cape mission.

    Tracer - Archmage
    Defeat 100 Tsoo sorcerers.
You will find sorcerers in great numbers in the west of Steel Canyon and on the north part of the island in Talos Island.

    Banisher - Archmage
    200 Banished Pantheon spirit masks.
These can be found in Dark Astoria and in Talos Island close to Dark Astoria – but only at night. A large team helps a lot here, as they spawn more of your team is big.

    Tank Buster – Freedom
    100 Freakshow Tanks
Real easy. Do Sister Psyche’s task force, or any number of Freakshow missions with a reasonably-sized team. Or just hunt them in Brickstown.

    Silver Bullet – Atlas
    100 Council Warwolves
These are bosses of the Council werewolves. Do the Striga Isle arc in big teams, or hunt them on the mountain in the Bony Morass of Striga.

    The Slayer – Atlas
    100 Council Vampyri
Another easy one – you find these in abundance on Striga Isle and in the arcs there.
  16. There is but one task in this level range, but it is very important.

    Spelunker Badge (Atlas)
Complete mission “Rescue the Mystic”, given by Hugo Redding, Dr. Trevor Seaborn, or Hayley Phillips. Many heroes spend their teen levels in the Hollows and miss out on this mission, which is needed for the first badge, Atlas. When you get this mission, it is very good form to broadcast an open invitation – doing so and asking for tips may solve your influence problems for quite a while.
  17. This is a badge hunting guide focused on accolades. It is for heroes who don’t care too much about badges, but don’t want to miss out on the accolades. It is set up as a number of tasks that you should do at different levels. If you complete all these tasks, you will get all the accolades. The levels given are not absolute, just my recommendations.

This guide is a compilation, and not based on personal research. All my data comes from other sites, I have merely sorted and analyzed it. My main sources are City Information Terminal, City of Heroes Online and Nofuture.org.uk. I also hearthily recommend Vidiot Maps.

Throughout, I use the coordinate system built into the City of Heroes engine. You get your current coordinates using the /loc command.

The level range of hunting missions is when you get xp for them – you can of course do them later, which is easier but less rewarding.

    Introducing the Accolades

There are seven accolades you can earn in the City of Heroes, and they are definitely not created equal. I do not count special accolades, like the ones that let you respect or which only grant a costume piece. A short introduction is in order.

    Archmage
Level 45 (minimum 21). This is a 25-minute-recovery click power that grants a lot of resistance and defense to all but psi, at the cost of speed, recharge and accuracy.

    Conspiracy Theorist (Hereafter Conspiracy)
Level 35 (minimum 20). This is a 25-minute-recovery click power attack that immobilizes.

Freedom Phalanx Reserve Member (Hereafter Freedom)
Level 40 (minimum 14). A 10% increase in hit points, and thus in regeneration rate.

Geas of the Kind Ones (Hereafter Geas)
Level 40 (minimum 40). Increase your recharge speed, Endurance recovery, and Accuracy for 1 minute. Defense will be severely reduced. Long recharge (guesstimate 25 minutes). This a Croatoa accolade, mostly earned there.

    Portal Jockey (Hereafter Portal)
Level 45 (no minimum). +5% Endurance and +5% Hit Points.

Received the Atlas Medallion (Hereafter Atlas)
    Level 25 (Minimum 7). +5% Endurance.

    Vanguard
Level 40 (minimum 40). This is a 25-minute-recovery click power that doubles the duration of all your Disorient, Hold, Immobilize, Fear, Confuse and Sleep powers. Knockback distance is also increased.

on test i swapped out the passives on my nb/sr stalker for stimulant/aidself, and noticed immediately a much longer longevity

oh well, every set's gotta have some skippable powers so you can fill holes with power pools, right? lol

    [/ QUOTE ]

The problem is that if you make the passives from SR obsolete, Ninjutsu becomes a strictly better set. Only two toggles to run and a host of unility powers. Those passives need to be worthile!

(I havn't analyzedif they really are, however)

Smoke and Flash Arrow combine very nicely. I have both on 3 SO acc debuff, and I see a decent amount of "whiffage". In I6, acc debuff seems to sacle with level, so I actually debuff high level/rank mobs pretty well. I guess this will disappear with I7.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Ya got that bass ackwards.

In I7, Tohit debuffs (and defense) is MORE effective against high level/rank mobs.

Currently in I6 against a boss with 65% chance to hit. A -15% ToHit debuff drops them to 50%.

In I7, that same boss after being hit by a -15% ToHit debuff wil drop to 45.5%

For more info, see Arcanaville's thread: I7 Defense Scaler

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not sure you are witght when accuracy debuffs are concearned; as explained way back in the Smoke grenade nerf, at present add debuffs shave of a % of the mobs accuracy, just like defense will do in I7.

Of course, this infor could be dated.
  20. Some comments from a Fire/TA controller. Mostly from I6; I have only tested I7 a little.

It has been said above that the animation times from TA are not a problem for a Controller. Not true. i often hesitate to use Ice Arrow because I know I will be out of the game for a good while because of it.

Smoke and Flash Arrow combine very nicely. I have both on 3 SO acc debuff, and I see a decent amount of "whiffage". In I6, acc debuff seems to sacle with level, so I actually debuff high level/rank mobs pretty well. I guess this will disappear with I7.

Flash Arrow aggro is odd. If I am fighting one group with another group nearby blinded and I fear the blind is running out, another application of Flash Arrow often causes aggro. Even if the group is out of normal aggro range at the intant the arrow is fired. Also, if something triggers a group I've blinded, they suddenly seem to remember I was the one who blinded me and go for me, even if someone else activated them by moving too close. Smoke seems to work better here, but I am not entirely sure.

Possible bug: When you place an item it locks the colors and symbol you have when you place it, and doesn't update when you update your settings.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Looks very explotable - redo the base inbetween changing SG ogo, and you can have different flags all over the place.

Most likely resets when the base resets.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Please consider changing taunt enhancements so that they will boost accuracy and duration in PvP. I can't stand the thought of slotting a power for PvP use what will provide ZERO benifit in the PvP game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

With the growing number of powers that take different pvP/PvE slotting (Taunt, Confront?, Git Feet, Smokle, Blinding Arrow) this is becoming a serious problem and raising the barrier for PvE folks wishing to try out PvP.
  23. This would be a good time to reevaluate the power of Luck (purple) and Tough (orange) inspirations.

I think we can all agree that the current values are insane, at least compared to one another. What would be reasonable values?
