  1. 99.9% sure it is, as I was talking to shining Magic just the other day about including some PvP into New PLayer Night, and we then settled on having NPN on PVP night for convenience's sake.

That said, just wante dto throw it out there that the TNF regulars are a fun bunch.

If you want to see what PVP can be, stay tuned. SM has some ideas he's working on.
  2. Thx guys.

    Even late it's appreciated.
  3. I use http://www.seventhsanctum.com/index-name.php*, Wikipedia, and a thesaurus at will.

If the character's back story warrants it I'll aim for something specific, otherwise I use the powersets as the basis for inspiration and go nuts.

  4. It's normal if I'm drooling now, right?

Thanks again for all the kind wishes people.

B-Day weekend could have gone better if my employer hadn't changed the method by which we get our expenses reimbursed, thereby ensuring that I 1) would go to the head office the previous weekend only to be met with a locked door, and 2) not having taken an extra day off to plan for festivals and events which depended on said reimbursement.

But still, friends, family, extra playing time = find fun where you can.

More slots, and by slots I mean notches in my belt.

    Thanks for the wishes everyone.

  9. Dang... thought for a minute a Protectorite had taken the bite and proposed to join as a mentor.

I'll get your entry fixed in a few minutes Dust01.
  10. Whatever happens, those who can edit the Protector Calendar can edit the series to reflect the changes.

7 actually, if you count the 2 kids.

Archiviste also mentioned that his brother might be coming, and my son may or may not be able to attend (will have to be a door ticket if he can) bringing the gang to a potential 9 so far, without really trying all that hard.

There *must* be other Quebecers and nearby neighbours who can make it... think of the poutine!
  12. I'm fetching a straightjacket, and hope to complete the IOing of my fire/dev blaster by that time.
  13. It all started right here, on Protector, and is still steamrolling its way around, gathering speed. The Mentor Project now counts 115 registered volunteers, and there are more joining in every week.

Note: Protector has been passed by Justice, Virtue and Freedom as far as representation by volunteer mentors goes.

Joining in as a mentor now would be perfect timing for the next New Player Night on Protector! (stay tuned for upcoming announcements in the next few days)

Quit hanging out exclusively with the other old coots in those safe, predictable TF runs you're always milking, talking about the "glory days" when we had to defeat 10 000 Rikti Monkeys for the badge, or the Rularuu Invasion of '04, or when the city was completely cape-less.

OK, it's a safe routine, one that doesn't expose you to any real "change" brought on by interacting with new people. But it can also be like a new version of that gang of seniors I see having breakfast at Mcdonald's on the weekends, sucking on the same coffee for 2 hours: They all look and smell the same after a few months hanging together!

Get out there and find a new player to take on rounds with you, sharing your knowledge and skills, and experiencing the game again through his or her eyes!

You can join in the SG channel right away so you'll have some (verbal) company while you get there, and even team mates when we have our own Praetorians around.

Send me a /tell to @Stalemate tomorrow night and we'll get you settled in.

Well then, I suggest you join at least one global channel from this server and things will simply fall into place.

I'll be entirely partial and propose my own SG if you're interested (link in signature), and the Protector Vigilance channel is a great way to get on top of what's currently happening on the server (command line in sig as well).

The Paragon Punishers (and numerous alt and allied SGs) have been around for over 6 years, and we are lucky enough to have a bunch of knowledgeable players. We're not large, even preferring to keep things manageable mostly, but we're active across pretty much all time zones.

Praying for swift and total recovery, and for your family to be at peace.

    Mentor Project

Greetings heroes, vigilantes, rogues, villains and Praetorians,

It is with great pleasure that we are announcing a special partnership between Paragon Wiki and the Mentor Project.

This partnership stems from seeing both groups of players have similar goals: to assist and help out other players, and to enable them to have readily available information when and where they need it.

Paragon Wiki needs no introduction as one of the most visited sources of information concerning the City of franchise, and is an integral part of the Titan Network. This player-led encyclopedia is supported by a dedicated team of individuals who are committed to getting all the facts, and getting them straight.

The Mentor Project came into existence earlier this year as an offshoot of a new player welcoming event. It is a relatively new undertaking, yet it has already demonstrated its usefulness by offering in-game assistance and personal tutoring for new or returning players on all servers.

Given that the Mentor Project caters specifically to a demographic that Paragon Wiki can also assist, we are converging our efforts and the Mentor Project will now offer maintenance and support for Paragon Wiki’s Players Guide to the Cities.

We take this opportunity to thank each and every single player who volunteers his (or her) time to improve someone else’s enjoyment of City of Heroes, City of Villains and Going Rogue. Our gaming community is a much more friendly place with your efforts, and for that we are all very grateful.

    Eabrace, Paragon Wiki

Already on my way to transfer "v.6" to villainside.
  19. Welcome back to the game!

Do you recall what your previous global was?

Perhaps we can help you track down the people you used to team up with.
  20. Hello MasterSurgeon,

The only 2 people I know who play on Protector but are located in Europe are both in my SG.

If you want to give it a try (we've been around for 6 years), let me know.
