Hi Major.
I haven't seen activity from the Protectors in quite a while, but...
I spoke briefly with Protonic Flux just a couple of days ago, in the Protector Vigilance channel, who - IIRC - was SG leader in Protectors (or at least had invite rights).
Also, FlameWrath tried to get a spinoff SG named Protectors - CSI off the ground along with HotChili, Storm Chaser and Brontolith, but I'm unsure what the status is today.
I know Warface is still around, but if he's involved in a SG/VG it's more than likely F.U.S.I.O.N., and apparently more often on Freedom.
Look me up if you need any information, or if you need to reach someone in particular. I may be able to help facilitate things given your SG and one of mine were very close, way back.
In fact, I'll be upfront and say I proposed more than once that former Protectors (like any former members of the Praesidium looking for a SG) could join Phantoms of War (now also Paragon Punishers) simply by looking our way.
Good to see another "old timer" back in action. -
That bird head may be the first time I have anything negative to contemplate about a CoH update, especially when compared to all the other costume / anatomy meshes that could have been proposed instead...
But in any case, real psyched to see the staff wanting to get even more involved with the gamer community. It was already one of the things that made CoH stand out. -

All good - we already had yours. =)

Quote:Just to be clear - the N P C channel is most useful in conjunction with your local server's main channels and/or whatever SG channels you prefer.I like the idea of your Mentor Project, but somehow I think the mentor's have better things to do than listen to me babble on about my awesome superhero, shoes, and whatever else is goin on. I had considered starting my own SG, but having run my own guild in WoW for so long - I'm kinda burnt out on management. Just looking for a group to bs with and eventually run raids with.
Raiding is an applicable term, yes? I need a new lexicon
Think of it as an add-on to whatever channels you currently use for instant assistance to any questions you will have.
We're lucky to have many knowledgeable vets, as well as some of Paragon Wiki folks who are all very generous of their time, knowledge and experience. ;-) -
I started up on the Arachnos Agent day job the day before yesterday in St. Martial (next to an arbiter), but I'll be switching to Sharkhead after reading the comments here.

Beat you to it - added to calendar already.

Quote:You're coming too? Sweet!*shakes cane wildly* Take yer threadjack elsewhere you young whippersnappers!
I think we also got the "nameless" card. Hard to confirm since kids/wifey had a tendency to open up anything that looked like it contained a card and/or cookies immediately upon arrival. -
Alyssa, if you're interested you could also opt to join the Mentor Project channel (in my sig).
We offer new and returning players near instant assistance regardless of the server they're on (we have volunteers on all the servers - including Europe) and can even have someone partner up with you for a bit if you're interested in a more personal approach.
Welcome back! -
Quote:The Rikti raids are weekly.I've been on Protector for 3 or 4 years, and have never seen a raid or bomb run for anything on this server can someone get me the times of them, please.
Bookmark the calendar link in my signature.
All the regular event creators / coordinators have editing rights to it and usually it's very current. -
Congrats!

There's a trick.
Use one word only to describe your impression(s) of the Protector server in 2010.
Mine would be:
Camaraderie -
We have another addition to the roster of calendar editors: Zaloopa (Strike Force Saturdays).

I told her I just prefer wearing spandex to tights.
Tried 3 times and it's ... just ... not good.
BTW, you should have put a special "Mutual MMO" clause in your marriage contract, like I did. -

It's what I use all the time for exploration badges and history plaques.

Now, I can only hope I can be there on that date.
My track record for the last 2-3 weeks has been dismal. I think I logged on 3 times, and two of those times was only to check sales / move to another Day Job location. -
Quote:That's a mere 150 Km more than we'll be driving, you wuss. Not bloody likely! You forget that I'm now north, VERY north. And also the requirement for time travel makes things rather iffy. 2011 also seems rather unlikely...
Plus, seeing the sun again will do you good. -
I've updated the roster listing (the one visible from the GuildPortal site) with all the current registrations I had pending.
We're just over 140 registered mentors (no numbers for the unregistered)! If you haven't joined the N P C channel yet, please do so.
As you may already know, the Mentor Project is a loosely-knit community of like-minded volunteers who want to help new or returning players. This can be done in a general consultation role, or a more personal partnership can be set up.
In any case, the mentors have free reign as to how involved they want to be, how much time they wish to spend, and how they'd like to do it. The Mentor Project website (for mentors) and N P C global channel are means of communication put at their disposal.
2011 looms over the horizon and there are more events coming up to cater to new players, but until then...
Happy New Year everyone! -
Quote:I thought JJ was in western Canada somewhere, no?...[*]JJ Knight's - I've already met Stalemate and Ozmosis, we need to get something set up for you and Mental (who is in GTA, IIRC)...
I think Korith and Mental might be able to attend the Toronto Fan Expo 2010 (Aug. 26-28), if our unofficial mention of it at the Montreal Comic Con becomes a viable project.
