Weekly Strike Targets added.
Up to April for now, others as they occur. -
Would this be a Master attempt for 'Cuda?
-
Quote:Yeah - I should have let you guys know ahead of time I was going to "follow" your Twitter profiles using that account, but I got so psyched at finally getting it to work as I wanted that I skipped a part of my process.Ah-HA! THAT'S what that is.
I got an e-mail that said "@COHProtector is now following you on Twitter!" and it confused me because I couldn't figure out who the heck would set up a Twitter account for the whole dang server.
Carry on, good sir! :3
9 followers so far - not a whole lot, but if it's useful for a few people then it's existence is justified.
Also, Facebook users can use Twitter apps to receive the updates, so that's another method people can use to keep track of happenings, unplanned changes, etc. -
-
At Gothess' suggestion, I've added the fact that times are EST to the profile's note.

Safe Mode?
GL on surviving until then bud. -
Added to calendar, and way to get back in action, Tsukiyomi.

After bumbling around with it for a bit and submitting the fine folks at KJSR.net and others with some unapproved, impromptu testing (as they started following the tweets), I think it's nearly ready.
At this time, I'm testing whether reminders set by the event "holders" will also be processed correctly. This way if there are any changes they need announced, this is another method at their disposal.
From what I gather so far, the system doesn't allow for a whole lot of customization, but it should be sufficient to let subscribers know when things are happening. If you have any tips, suggestions, please post them here. -
While chatting about the RtR scheduling with Drake Crator this past Wednesday night, he suggested something that I was immediately jealous for not thinking of first.
So if you access Twitter, whether directly or via another system (such as Facebook, or a smartphone), feel free to follow @COHProtector.
The updates come directly from reminders issued by the Protector Activity Calendar (link in my sig).
The reminders are set at default for 48 hours and then 12 hours before the event's occurrence. -
Thanks to an idea Drake Crator proposed tonight, I'm testing the feasability of automating the Protector Calendar reminders (5AM each day for complete listing, 2 days prior and 12 hours prior to events) to update as tweets.
Follow @COHProtector and let me know what to improve. -
Add to calendar please?
I had no idea there was a raid last week since I had relied on the programmed daily reminders as I wasn't on the boards as much.
It turns out that besides the usual expected SF there was also a Valentine's Day event I only learned of by indirect global chatter the day before, and a Hami Raid I found out minutes before it got under way (so could not attend).
I need to set my notices for 24 hours prior... -
Now that I do get invited to them again (I have an inkling suspicion I had been placed on a Do-Not-Invite list following some rather hostile comments in regards to the Fury concept proposed by tankers being handed over to Brutes, way back in CoV beta), I've also found I don't participate as much as I could.
I've also dropped the idea that my feedback would affect anything since I'm not a recognized number cruncher.
Add to that my limited playtime, and I'd rather concentrate on what I still have on my plate instead of looking ahead to the dessert helpings.
Heck, I still haven't done most SFs (none of the MO ones either) and mayhem missions, and haven't even started familiarizing myself with Apex / Tin Mage. -
Voted.
"8 votes needed for James to be in the top 50"
Let's. -
Had fun spamming the local channel yesterday and gaining almost 1400 Vanguard Merits.
Wifey was especially pleased that she could now create that missing component fro her next alpha. -
Quote:After all I'd heard about this SF, I was surprised we had such a mellow time with it, to be honest. Good, mature players FTW....I am just kind of venting that it seems that my success rate is well nil. But yet a LRSF with Stalemate (a self proclaimed Recluse Strike Foce n00b) went rather smoothly...
Not just me, but really half our team was running it for the first time, so the overall result was quite pleasant.
Makes me look forward to running it again in Master mode. -
Citadel was in the first wave I think, so that would have been 5, then 3?
Not too shabby for a run with half the team doing it for the first time.
And Ny, I just thought you needed a nap.
All in all, thanks for taking us out there today guys.
Glad Kyo levelled to 50 on this run too. Made it even more memorable.
EDIT: And I just read in the 50s thread that your MM did as well - awesome! -
That was fantastic.
Great run.
How many Heroes did we aggro at once at the end? 4? -
Things to do?
I knew I should have read up on this. -
I keep missing these.
There seems to always be some activity to do at home when these happen.
I'm going to have to start scheduling these on the fridge calendar. -

The nitty gritty:
- Main character needs strike forces and he's only done 2-3 so far.
- He'd love to get into all that new stuff he's been hearing about like the Weekly Task Forces.
- He really likes badges. Enough to have switched sides for the chance to get more.
So tomorrow afternoon at around 2:30 - 3PM (Est.) I'll have a few spots to fill on the Lord Recluse Strike Force.
I'd like to save 3-4 spots ahead of time for SG mates and coalies, but if you're the patient type who doesn't mind teaming with a villain-side noob, appreciating the humour in seeing a devout pro-hero player bumble through the LRSF, feel free to comment below. -
