Firenuking the place had really taken a lot out of Dragon. She couldn't even run particularly quickly at the moment, much less fly or throw fire.
Well, now was the time to make like a drum and beat it. She leaped backwards out of what was left of a window, landing lightly on all fours outside the building.
Anyone watching from afar would have noticed someone jump out the window, wings snapping out for a second, red scales gleaming in the light. They looked around warily, and clung to a rock. -
Dragon froze, not bothering to try and track Xabu with her eyes. When you couldn't even see your opponent, but he was within firing range, there was one thing to do.
Explode.
She concentrated, and felt the heat building up inside, trying to work its way to the surface. She held it in, and the heat kept building until she thought she'd explode,
And then she did.
Well, sort of. Her body was still intact, but the room was suddenly turned into a raging inferno as a huge wave of fire spread outwards, engulfing nearly the entire room. Nearly. Most of the others probably wouldn't be hurt too badly, if they could move fast enough.
They probably could have sensed the buildup. It would have suddenly gotten VERY, VERY hot around Dragon -- enough to blister unprotected skin.
Either way. When the fire roared outwards, well...Dragonistic had 50 Security Levels of fireblasting under her belt, so she really knew how to use her fire. And she was powerful enough to have reached 50 in the first place.
One word: Ouch.
Well, they had a chance of surviving this one. Surviving Xabu's attacks? Probably not. -
Dragon glanced around. Xabu was focused on Jonas, not her, and now was the time to strike.
She flexed her claws, and inhaled deeply, then suddenly blew a stream of fire at him. Then she was behind him, and tossed ash in his face, followed by an exploding fireball. Embers alighted on her scales and in her hair, but of course, she didn't catch fire.
Dragonistic jumped up, and slashed at him with both talons, like a raptor. Those claws could definitely disembowel. -

A'yup.
S'not personally going to interrupt my general business on DeviantArt. Just when I'm feeling ... "brave?"

I was "brave" once on DeviantArt. I found out that apparently Kim Possible is a lesbian and is in love with Shego.
There are some things you can't unsee...

My brain...>_< -
Dragon shot Briggs a look, but said nothing besides "We all know where he is. He's everywhere," before clawing at a spark passing in front of her face, even thought it'd do her no good. But it was bothering her.
She wouldn't have said anything about Briggs' command to surrender. After all, a minute ago, her Nictus had been ordering whoever it was not to kill her.
The pyrokinetic dragon-girl moved a little ways away from the others. There were embers floating off her fire shield, and it'd be best if none of them caught fire.
There was nothing she could do to help at that moment. -
((How else was Khel going to escape that?!
Yeah, that does happen to her rarely..)) -
A blackness tugged at the edges of her mind, then slowly closed in. She stopped struggling, stopped moving, and closed her eyes. It had finally happened.
Kheldragon was going to get her wish.
She was going to die.
Then something unbelievably lucky, or unlucky, happened. It still happened to her, very rarely. Very rarely indeed, and it was amazingly lucky that it would happen now.
Khel groaned, and shuddered, as the wounds inside knit themselves back together. Her talons gripped and ungripped on an invisible prey, and she vomited blood all over the floor. More blood than usual, but with a couple differences.
Firstly, it was red, and very, very hot. Secondly, it was mixed with gastric acid.
Her eyes snapped open, the slit-pupils darkening to black, her eyes cycling through every color of the rainbow a couple times before they settled on green, with ordinary whites. The purple veins running down her face vanished..
If the person in his static state would have happened to be touching Khelly right now, he'd have noticed that she was suddenly a lot warmer. Intensely warmer.
She rolled over, and quickly shed her armor just in time. The red spikes had gone, and two bulges were throbbing on her back. Then the skin burst, and a pair of large, batlike wings unfolded into the room.
Dragonistic got to her feet, encasing herself in flame. That was probably the luckiest thing that'd ever happened to her in her life. Of course, she could stay dead now, but now she didn't want to die.
It happened once in a very, very long time.
She changed back. -
((Catching up))
Khel felt her own energy being sucked out of her body by the power sink. However, she was pretty much a living power sink herself, and if it was possible to power-sink a power sink...
Her head swam. She fell sideways out of the chair and clawed her way across the carpet, trying to get out of the area, ripping up the carpet (assuming there's a carpet).
Being barely kept alive by the massive amounts of energy being fed into her by the others (most of which was apparently being sucked away by the power sink), she started coughing and choking, writhing on the ground and spitting blood everywhere. Having had her main sustenance taken away, she needed to breathe. She had to depend on oxygen at the moment, like she had to before she was changed.
Unfortunately, with her damaged lungs, that was...difficult.
Then everyone heard something. Inside their heads.
SSTTOOPP! screeched a grating, metallic double voice. Yyoouu'llll kkiillll uuss bbootthh! It was talking, of course, to the hidden power-sinker. -
((Khel didn't hit 'im, E-X did >.>
)
She said nothing, just pointed at Energon. Apparently pointing him out as the cause of the fight. -
Khelly nodded, not taking her gaze away from the window, and reached out just enough to absorb some of the radiation. It was sort of the energy equivalent of lemonade, to her, at least. It didn't 'taste' like lemons, of course.
If the others stopped a moment, and thought about the atmosphere in the room, they may have gotten a slightly creepy feeling, and noticed how dead the air felt right around Kheldragon. The ones with the better senses would definitely know something here was wrong, and it wouldn't take a genius to figure out that it was Khel.
There was just something...Unnatural about her. -
She gave the Jager a very surprised look. He wasn't getting drained, or at least, it wasn't having any effect on him. She had also never seen a Jagermonster before.
"...Don't flirt with me..." She coughed. "...Waste of time..." Khel bared her red-stained fangs, not knowing that that'd just make it worse.
She had a lot to learn about Jagermonsters. -
((Catching up now...))
Khelly shook her head. "...Beat him up, fine...Go right ahead...Just try not to kill him..." She coughed, and at E-X's mention of a small quasar, looked...Not worried at all. Not afraid, just surprised, and a little happy. More food for her.
And assuming she couldn't survive a quasar? That'd be fine, too. She wouldn't even try to escape.
Khel gazed out the window ((Assuming there are any windows)), and wondered if this was her chance to die. She'd like to leave this world once and for all, and the pain would finally end. There was nothing left for her in life.
She coughed into her hand, careful not to get blood on anything, and returned to staring off into space. -
Name: Kheldragon
Nicknames: Khel, Khelly, Monster
Age: 18-19ish
Height: A little over six feet
Weight: Unknown, she breaks all electronic scales
Eye color: Purple, no whites, just a darker purple. Pupils are slitted and milky white.
Nobody knows very much about Kheldragon. Most people don't even want to know. They can sense something strange, something unnatural about her; she's been changed drastically by science, against her will. Most animals are afraid. Cats hiss and bristle, dogs bark and snarl, because they know she's something horribly unnatural, and they don't like it.
An aura of dead air surrounds her, like all the energy is being sucked out of it. Khel IS an energy-feeder, and no longer consumes matter due to serious wounds in her insides. The wounds don't heal, and nobody knows why that is either.
Nobody at all knows anything about her past, because those who made her what she is are all dead. She seems to have destroyed the lab, but has no memory of it.
Whatever happened to her, it must have been very horrible. She's been changed from a fiery, social, short-tempered dragon-girl to a quiet, withdrawn, polite thing. She is in constant pain from her wounds, but has long since gotten used to it. Something that changed her must have been horribly painful, because to her, getting knocked through a building or being cut in half doesn't hurt all that much, and she can move normally, not at all disabled by pain.
...Not much to say, because her past is mysterious. *UFO sounds*
Dragony-racial-ish abilities or something:
-Talons on her feet. She can jump up and slice, and disembowel things. However, she rarely fights in any way besides blasting or draining any more.
-A long, whiplike tail. Doesn't do much damage to anyone, but hurts like hell when you get hit with it. Her tail is prehensile, and she could use things like screwdrivers with it.
-Claws on her hands. The claws are just stuck onto her fingers in place of nails, and she still has five fingers and an opposable thumb.
-Thick, protective scales. They mostly protect her from heat, and everyday bullets. Most people, however, don't seem to use ordinary bullets.
-Dragon senses. Khel can see much more sharply than most humans, and a little ways into the ultraviolet spectrum. Her nose is a little worse than a dog's, and her night vision is a little better than a cat's.
-Fangs. Need I say more?
Powers:
-Typical Warshade powers. She can manipulate gravity to a certain extent, rip spacetime, drain life force, and blast people with negative energy. And, of course, transform into a space squid/lobster.
-Energy drain. Everyone who knows about Khel knows this already. She can siphon, and feed on, pretty much any type of energy, from radiation to heat. However, Khel can't help draining at least a little energy from anyone she touches. Ordinary, everyday civilians can be killed by bumping into her, and a lot of what she does in the Prelude to Justice (her supergroup) is destroying machines by draining them.
-Khelly is very, very, very creepy. Not that she really means to be, but she can use it well...and intimidate people excellently when she wants to...
Well, there is the aura of dead air around her, and the general sense of something horribly unnatural. That alone is enough to unnerve most people. Her face is especially creepy, with those violet, slit-pupiled eyes and the purple veins running down her cheeks. Get very close, and you can smell the stench of iron on her breath. Most people will recognize it as blood, and her fangs are stained reddish from all the blood she coughs up.
Add that to the general creepiness of a reptilian monster and, well...
--------------------------------------------------------------
Hmm...Spoilers? Yeah, these are details about her past, for those interested. So, yeah, spoilers.
Dragonistic was taken by Crey and used in an experiment. Her wings were clipped, and she would never be able to fly again. One of the most cruel things you can do to a dragon.
After that, she went through a long and painful procedure involving many needles which genetically modified her to absorb and feed on energy, as well as regenerate in case something went wrong. A Nictus was forced into her, using an experimental technique (nothing like what the Council was doing) which pretty much reached the limits of how much pain it's physically possible to feel, and took her pyrokinetic powers away. Her insides ruptured from the massive amounts of energy being fed into her at once, but she didn't die.
DE001 (DraconicExperiment One, as she was called) was examined, and it was then deemed that she would survive without outside help. She was put in a simple metal cage and left alone.
She healed, but at the time, very, very slowly. Her wings began to grow back, resulting in bony red spikes on her shoulders, and many of her internal wounds had healed, but she still had quite a few.
To keep her wings from growing back, she was injected with a serum that "sticks" to certain areas of the body and prevents regeneration. It stayed in her shoulders, of course, but also made its way to some of her internal organs, which wasn't supposed to happen. As a result, those wounds never healed, and still can't be healed.
DE001 spent a long time in that cage, vomiting blood onto the floor, her eyes and some veins on her face slowly turning a bright purple. She stopped depending on oxygen to live, since she could hardly breathe at all, and after a couple weeks, her mind suddenly went blank one day.
The lab exploded, killing everyone in it except her, in a flash of Nictus energy. Kheldragon flew over the War Walls, to somewhere over Galaxy City, where her powers burned themselves out and she dropped from the sky.
After waking up, she had absolutely no memory of the period after her mind blanked, and went and registered as a hero.
---------------------------------------------------------- -
Khel shrugged. "...I suppose it wouldn't...Perfectly sanitary, though...Diseases can't be transferred...Through energy..." She coughed. "...And besides...My body isn't exactly...a hospitable place..." She smiled, but with no joy or humor. She just looked mildly pleased. Being a negative-energy-filled, life-draining, mortally-wounded dragon-girl had precious few perks. Killing off diseases instantly was one of them.
"...As for heroic...I'm not heroic...Not heroic at all..." She shrugged. "...Let it just be known that...Criminals are full of...energy..."
Meanwhile, Ink was with the rest of the redsiders. Wherever they were. -
Kheldragon nodded. "...I've got a reason..." She dropped out of her squidform, and took on something a lot like the look of a starving tiger. Or, at least, a very hungry look. It wasn't directed at the Referee, however.
"...When I said you shouldn't...touch me or leave any...expensive machines near...me, it's because I drain...and feed on energy..." Her white, slitted pupils widened a bit, making her look a little like a wild cat. "...Poe's the best meal I've...ever seen, barring...deities..." She coughed into her hand. "...To make it simple...I'm going to eat him...That's why I'm going with...you guys..."
Her tail swished lazily, and she went and settled down in a chair, making sure said chair was NOT electric in any way. -
((Sticking Jagermonsters in = WIN and AWSUM.))
-
"...Fear Engine?..." Kheldragon tilted her head. Poe didn't seem very frightening at all. Then again, not much scared Kheldragon. To her, at this moment, Poe was just a particularly large source of energy, just another meal to her.
Of course, if he was a scientist, well. That'd frighten Khel. Scientists and labs were pretty much the only thing she was actually afraid of. She wasn't even afraid of dying permanently.
"...Fear Engine...Hmm." -
*teleports out but gets guts kicked out by Chuck anyway in three milliseconds*
-
Khel felt the flyer before it showed itself. Not only did she know the energy of Arachnos flyers, but large, airborne objects tended to give off a lot of energy to keep themselves in the air.
She looked up
Kheldragon stepped into the flyer, being very careful not to touch anything besides the floor if at all possible. No good would come of draining this thing's power supply.
In fact, it was probably better to go Nova-form, and not touch the floor at all.
"...I'm a Warshade..." She muttered to whoever needed to know, "...And it's probably best...not to leave any...expensive equipment...near me..." Khel coughed into her hand, went Nova with a BOOM, and was suddenly a flying glowing squid-thing. -
((Welllll...Just assume Khel and Inky have been following EX and Power Breaker the whole time
))
