TRAVEL CHANNEL
I am surprised that the point of my TRAVEL POWERS THE MISSING LINK entry is so lost on so many (or is that so few given ratio of forum members vs game subscribers). I will try to reiterate. You see with the uber travel powers, it counts as one power in your tray, and then you are free to fill other slots with powers of your desire that match your theme to build your dream hero. If I have to burn several power slots, to gain my comparably under powered “single” travel power, I am at a severe disadvantage in my overall build and representation of my dream hero, and this is exactly what often leads people to give up and not remain true to their character concept when it comes to travel powers. I whole-heartedly disagree on any balance concerns. I feel that this would only be unbalanced in the fact that the missing-link Travel power would be far inferior to any of the currently existing god-like travel powers… but well received since people have been opting to not take travel powers at all or apparently just pretending their Ninjas aren’t really vertically leaping skyscrapers in a single bound or out running small air-craft.
You could also call the missing travel power Parkour… or perhaps Parkour Hardcore.
Wowsers we could not be two more completely opposite and separate souls when it comes to creatively designing a themed character if we tried. Anyway, the days of having to stretch this far creatively are long long gone. Hey, I can pull arrows from an invisible quiver, shoot flames from a super soaker and pretend an orange gasmask is a duck-bill all day long… but No, natural hero types from popular media, Beast or beasts (werewolves, Island of Doctor Moreau types, Beauty and the Beast (Perlman circa 1987)), ninjas and soldiers do not perform the god-like travel powers for their standard means of physical transportation in the realm of comic book media, but they do get around much better than the non-hero citizens. Basically I thought I was the only one who felt it was a horrible void until I saw that *multiple* other titles recently shared my feelings and implemented. THE CLAWS CLAUSE
Check out the alternate version of the “roar” in-game emote. You may have to click it several times. I disagree that there are any “issues” at all with this and remain unwaivering in the fact that this would be an easy add with so much of it already done, relatively speaking of course. My current guess is it’s just not a priority, hence my open letter.

NATURAL CLAWS
You have countless critters in the game that utilize this. All the animations are there for the heroes, just give a “no claw” choice in the weapons… or force the “monstrous claw hand” costume piece worse case. Make it happen yesterday.
MONSTROUS FUR LOWER BODY
When selecting “TIGHT” (not “Monstrous”) you have at least 3 non-clothed options including Zombie, Plant and Reptilian. We need monstrous fur in this. It follows the exact same mold, and you can even grab it from the “Monstrous” section and just modify it (if at all) to mesh around the tight lower body. Obvious oversight, make it happen.
MONSTROUS FUR BOOTS
No not ugg’s… although wait a second now hhhhhmmmm. Oh... I digress. Same as above… we have zombie, plant, reptile… just give us a little hobbit action here, ‘nuff said.
TRAVEL POWER (THE MISSING LINK)
Okay not as simple, maybe… but it hit me recently (*cough* *CO* *cough*) that there is a huge cross section of hero types that don’t have a thematic travel power, or are taking a travel power that is off theme. This is excruciating given the breadth of CoH in other areas. Ninjas, "Punishing" Soldier Types, Beasts, Captain America Types, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, are all left in the dust. They aren’t as fast as the Flash, they can’t fly or teleport, and they can’t jump like the Hulk, and being forced into taking any of these over-powered over the top solutions for a seriously gritty and brooding Dark Knight type is just plain corny. It ain't right. Let the gods be gods... but some of us need to be mortal men (albeit on performance enhancing drugs). There needs to be an additional Travel power… and being one for suggesting simple solutions that already exist in the game… just make it “Fitness”. One travel power that instantly grants all the individual powers of the current power pool of the same name. Perhaps tweak them up a bit and throw in a couple other little perks, but you get the idea. If I think of my alts alone this travel power would be selected for almost every other toon I make. I can’t imagine anyone who is playing CoH, from a non-grind and non-PL perspective, who wouldn’t jump all over this as an option for so many concepts and ideas. Really bad and massive void here guys if you consider some of the most currently popular heroes don't have flight, super speed, super jump or tele. Can I get a "heck yes" !!!!
DUAL PISTOLS as a primary without minions.
ROGUE is a day late and a dollar short on this - and as most of us know by now from peeking around at our um, competitors, it has quickly became the most popular power used on that there other side of the tracks. Ouch guys, ouch. I don't like being Burger King to their McDonalds, but let’s hope it delivers none-the-less. -
While nothing will ever cause me to look up from MA long enough to even notice it exists, especially with me personally having no interest in switching sides (I just roll anew on red) the thought of some new powersets DOES intrigue me of course. Mainly because Ill promptly get use of those powersets in MA (I assume).
So while the trailer did not show dual pistols (it showed single pistol... actually an old Co2 cartridge paintball gun I think) it also did not show any annoying and way off theme thugs spawning from behind Mealstromboli when he drew his weapon and that my friends is promising... if youre pickin up what Im throwin down.
And while people may be reading too much into Dramamine and her color changing balls... I swear I saw her cupping her balls... ahem... whilst wielding natural claws. Everyone else saw that too right? I mean we obviously cant get petless pistol(s) without also getting natural claws... right? huh huh? -
First off I think ANYTHING that is different and unique like your concept here will make people play MORE (believe me there is a lot of the same already out there without digging/hunting for the good stuff)... so a room for a contact? I'd be all amped up over that.
Next... Yep, just set ally to single for no guards...
And now the great news... there is a killer set of Cimeroran Cave maps that are nothing but short entrance tunnels leading to single "very tiny" rooms as featured in mission 1 of my "Kung Fu" themed arc if you wanna run in and see how they look and feel. (click in my siggy below)
As someone said earlier, if you dont block every possible spawn point with something you'll be forced to have enemy critter spawn, but I suggest you experiement with blocking spawn points with glowies before additional uneccesary allies. -
