    Nerfageddon

    Thanks for all the great names and horrible memories (I miss having 5 singularities out during the hold phase of hami).

    Keep them coming, the more the better.

    So I had a concept for an MM way way back about a toon named Nerfageddon and all the pets would be named after big nerfs to city of heroes/villains.

    After taking a long break from the game, I'm back and have finally come around to making this toon. The only problem is that I forget most of the big nerfs that have happened over the past years.

    A few that I do remember are the nerf to instant healing, the nerf to burn and ED. Any other big nerfs that all of you could provide would be appreciated.

    NOTE: I am not looking for start a flame war or dig up the past and make a thread where people vent at the devs for making all the changes they have, I am simply looking for some good names for my pets.
  3. Just ran it again. Our team was:

    Inv/SS tank
    Kin/NRG def
    Grav/Kin troller
    Emp/elec def
    Spines/regan scrap
    BS/regan scrap
    Fire/* blaster
    Elec/elec blaster (had to leave in the middle of the last mish)

    The first 4 missions were pretty easy, no real problems.

    Recluses inner circle were also fairly easy, we managed to pull GW and got her down to about 25% health before Scirroco came over. We killed GW then went on to kill Scirroco. Our next pull brought both mako and BS, we killed mako first and he was really easy, all we had running were 2 tactics. BS dropped in a couple mins.

    Recluse gave us a lot of trouble. Our tank could only handle recluse while unstopable or eye of magus was running. So we only had about 3 minutes at a time to drop a tower. It took us a bit to get it right but eventually we started downing towers. At one point the repairmen were giving us trouble so the grav troller dropped his sing right on top of the tower, it would instantly repel any repairmen that spawned and gave us time to think.

    We managed to down all the towers and LR and got the win with only 7 people, no stoner and no rads. I was impressed with our team.

    Where is this transport transponder, I ran this TF again today and couldn't find it.

    I ran it the first night open test started and my team finished in just over 3 hours. However, A LOT of that time was spent zoning, a few of our team members had slow loads.
  6. I've read this whole thread and am really suprised at how many people had problems with this TF. I don't think its easy or a cakewalk but any well organized team should be able to beat it no problem.

    So far I have beat this TF 4 times and failed 0 times, 3 runs were with PUGs, the most recent was with my SG mates.

    Some observations:

    Dr. Aeon - 2 of my 4 runs I have been the one with the temp power. I have found that using it right at the start of the fight (right after tank takes aggro) is the best way to go, Aeon will go down quick. I've never had issues with this guy and am a little confused as to why he gives so many teams problems.

    Pulling AVs - Pulling these AVs seems to be a little tricky, the only successful pulls I have seen are when a blaster or defender snipes from a long distance. The 2 times we had a blaster snipe we have been able to pull each AV 1 at a time, on the other 2 runs, we tried to pull with regular ranged attacks and failed.

    Ghost Widow - Her self heal is a major pain. On my most recent run I noticed that if our tanker taunted while in melee range she would use her heal whenever her health got low, however if our tank taunted from range she didn't heal and we were able to kill her. Has anybody else noticed this?

    Mako - I haven't had many issues with Mako other than the fact that he likes to run alot. -def debuffs and +tohit are the keys to beating mako.

    Flyer - As others have said the flyer respawns but I've noticed that the respawn timer is about 5 minutes not almost instant like some have stated. I also believe that it should be destroyed before fighting LR, it can be a real pain if you get it aggroed while fighting LR.

    Lord Recluse - He hits hard... real hard. On my run last night, LR 2 shotted our granite tank. The emp kept the tank alive while he taunted LR and his pets.

    The Pylons - I think the best way to deal with these is to have a tank keep LR busy, while a kin, emp or anyother toon with a ranged heal keeps the tank alive. Everybody else attacks the pylons. Using AoEs and PBAoEs help for taking down the workers before they can heal the tower.

    Mechanics: It's a 5x5 decorative room, collapsed into a 3x5. The room behind the podium/altar will lead into the rest of the base. Too bad I can't conceal it somehow.

    I didn't see any GMs show up. Arctic Sun was there (not a GM) and so was Manticore (not a GM) but nobody else of note. All the signature characters that were spawned were NPCs. Manticore basically just spawned a bunch of crap (Monsters and AVs) all at once before he left.

    By GMs i meant Giant Monsters.

    Only one type of banner can have one type of logo. What I mean by this is say you change you SG logo and colors to that of a coalition SG (Thats what I did) then place Large tech banner 1 with that logo, then you drop out of base edit mode and change your logo and colors back to your true SG ones.
    When you return to edit mode you can never again move or use that banner again, if you do it will change to what ever your logo is now.

    If you look you can see that none of the baners are the same other then the ones with my real logo.

  12. A BRB would be so much fun, I'd love to see this idea take off. So when can we expect the Giant Tape Worm? Issue 10-11 maybe...
