I do think it should have cost less, since it only had female costume pieces. Otherwise, I really like it.

I hope, for your birthday, you get your hands on a really big....

Quote:I second this. The stealth addition of the "reward" plinky sound on EVERY single notification in trials is EXTREMELY annoying. I listen and think I'm getting all sorts of cool loot and find "power terminal activated, PLINK!" "Power cell has been used, PLINK!", "Antimatter Appears! PLINK!". It's annoying and tiring after the first 2 minutes.

It frees you up to play other characters, if you like.
Grats on the badge! -

This thread makes me think about a few things.
1. Damn, I love this server. Sometimes more than others... but... I do love Protector.
2. It's always better just to be honest with each other (as in, "hey... I have a scheduled event for this evening. You guys mind?")
3. I remain grateful that my brain isn't drowning in testosterone. -
THB,
I hesitated about posting anything in response because I don't want to seem antagonistic. I'm not jumping into the fight here, I'm hoping to clear up a misunderstanding.
I was on Teamspeak with Major T and the rest of the group that usually starts trials each evening. There are a few other people that lead trials, but I think I'm safe in saying that most nights, it's Major T or Huron (aka Bad Hat Larry) who start running the trials.
At no point did anyone on TS say a word about there being a weekly event, at no point did anyone say we should just stomp all over THB's event. Frankly, I don't think a single one of us even remembered that there is such an event. I mention this because I need you to understand there was no “bad taste” involved. We run trials every night... it was our usual start time... we started running trials. And, as a side note, not a single person who joined our league mentioned your event either. Not one person, neither on TS nor in the league apparently even remembered you had an event.
I can't say what might have happened if you had taken just a moment to remind us that you had a planned event, but I can say that there have been many many times when we held off recruiting for something we wanted to do to let another group have a shot of getting a league together.
I think, if you had reminded us you had an event, we would have been happy to step back and let you do your recruiting.
So, I'm sorry this happened, but it was not intentional, it was not deliberately rude or inconsiderate. We just did what we do every night.
This is a new year. Let's all try to be happy in it and get along. -
Very nice!
We did a... I think it was 15-man raid way back before incarnates, but this....
/e slowclap -
Be happy and safe this Christmas.
And Happy New Year! -
I'm still waiting for the bomb sniffing dog to finish checking it out. Seriously, it's been slavering over that box for three days now!

One thing I might suggest - for some of these newer trials, you will fail spectacularly if you have a lot of people who aren't fully level shifted, and Underground, MoM, and TPN definitely fall in that category.
You may need to get kinda hardhearted about insisting on level shifted characters.
Just a suggestion. -
Quote:I guess you have.Alright, sorry I offended you guys. Maybe I have just been incredibly unlucky with my experiences on Protector when it comes to new Incarnate trials....
Quote:...I know there are lots of good players here, but I also know that there are lots of horrible players here. The trouble is that it's such a small server that if the majority of one group of people aren't on, you're forced to pick from the other group.
All I'm saying is... it's NOT the server.
Sometimes you have good runs, sometimes you have bad runs. Sometimes it's someone's fault, sometimes it's not.
But.. it's NOT the server. -

Quote:I've run several successful MoMs - on Protector, and just earned the MoMom badge (Deathsurge was shy).I'm not really sure what you're talking about. I've run successful PuG Mom runs, and last night we did a PuG TPN and picked up 4 of the 5 badges for MO in the first run. As a side note before that run i had never run a TPN.
It may be time to look for a new scapegoat.
Happily completed my first successful TPN recently, and just need one badge for the MO on that one.
Protector was the first server to defeat the new Hamidon on both villain and hero.
We were one of the first, I think THE first, to succeed in the STF when it first came out (That was me, Impyre, Rastafari Man, Major T, Trickshooter, Riverdancer, Stormtiger... and I don't remember who else). We were one of the first, probably THE first server to earn the MoSTF and the first server to earn the MoRSF (added in edit, thanks Elric).
I've seen people complaining about stuff that "Protector" can't do, when I'm successfully doing whatever that is AT THAT SAME MOMENT.
These new trials require excellent leadership, understanding of the game, playing skill, the ability to clearly and calmly react to problems, communication.... They are meant to be a challenge, and not everyone is up for it.
So... don't tell me PROTECTOR can't do something that has been successfully done on PROTECTOR many times.
We ARE the little server that could. We earned that nickname, dammit.
.... I love my server and I'm proud of it.
EDIT - and first MoRSF -

Quote:Ya, I do appreciate that. The Keyes badges are the actual reason I pretty much refuse to do Keyes anymore.Oh, I'm just glad that it's not a "do it all in one try" badge.
And Sooner: Aside from the Nightmares, which I really don't mind because it literally just means you need to keep doing normal runs of the trial, I think the badges for UG, MoM and TPN are great. They don't really require any special tasks like Keyes and Lambda do... They pretty much are awarded for running the trials efficiently and having everyone on the league understand how the trials themselves work. -
I'm frustrated in general by some of the new "master of" badges.
In my opinion, it should be POSSIBLE to get the Master badge for a trial in one run. -
