  1. I know I said I'd be updating this post a lot, and then promptly didn't... Well that's how things workout sometimes. And this really isn't going to end up being anything like my last one, since the market is just crazy right now.

What I'd like this to be, even though it's not about the Market now, is what this character has experienced. And so far it's been a lot of fun.

I'm coming up on 50 (48.5ish), and I must say this character is turning out to be as broken as I'd expected from the build. I've had lots of groups, nothing super memorable, but generally positive, and I'd like to start posting about them since that's what I feel is most important right now. To play the game and to play it with people.

I'll probably do some posts about how I'm getting stuff for the build, or tweaks I make to the build, but mostly about the people and the fun I'm having.

Like last night, managed to run some back-to-back TFs with two different groups of eight. First was a Citadel that just trounced things. A few times we would split, never quite an even split, and both halves would blow through groups until we met back up. Just about the only trouble we had was when one group agroed most of the "Prison Room" at once. (The room on Council maps with a big entrance-way that has about 4 groups relatively close.) Never quite wiped, but several of us fell in there, thankfully there was myself and another Dark with Howling Twilight so we could get multiples up fast.

Next was an ITF that turned into an absolute steam-roll. I think I got about 2.5 levels from that TF and we were moving fast. Great fun!

I hope to start jotting down a little more than this, but I'm having fun enjoying the game right now, so I can't promise much.

    Thanks everyone for reading!
  2. Andre Sjanse, my last controller...

I don't even know what I feel about all this right now, it's been days, and I've gone from wanting to just walk away now, knowing it's all going away, to wanting to play as much as I can, because there's nothing like CoH out there...

So at this point I'm going ahead with the last plan that I was brewing up, though modified from my original constraints, since I was planning on doing a limited time per day/week thing, and I don't want to limit myself this way. I'm not even sure how much marketing will be going on, since I'm quite sure everything will be out of whack with prices either plummeting, meaning I don't have the influence to buy because I can't sell things, or sky-rocket, leaving whatever I can earn as way too little to buy what I want. So I don't even expect to make it to the build I have planned, but I do hope that I can get a few last memories before the lights are turned out...

Anyways, here's the build: (Can't figure out how to get the long list, will work on that, hopefully soon)

Hopefully there's still some fun left in this old' mmo for one last run.

Managed to figure out what I was doing wrong, or at least correct what I was doing wrong, cause I'm not sure what I changed...

    Here's the full build:

  3. Thank you all, it's been a fun experience for me, and I can't help wanting to start up something like this again right away, since it really kept me focused on a goal. I might switch the time limit on it's side though, and rather than going at it like "you only have x number of days to complete your task", I'm thinking something more like "you only have x number of hours in a week to play this character."

I kinda expect this would actually result in higher profits vs hours invested since it would be spread out over a longer period of time. Also, it would let me indulge my altaholism lots, which always makes me happy.

I'm not really sure of a good time limit though, any thoughts?
  4. Day 30: Friday August 17, 2012
Sold the Apocalypse: Chance for Neg for 275 million
Got 2 instant purples, one a recipe, one an enhancement, crafted, converted, listed.
My buying price is at 175 million now (often, still try lower sometimes), and the typical sale is between 260 and 275, so it’s about 60-80 million profit, including salvage/listing fees, which is still good, or I think so anyways, since I move 1-2 a day (or so it seems).
9 converters for the first, 1 for the second. Yar that was hard... >_<

Well, I’m pretty much done on time, I may end up running another anything after I’m finished typing this up, so as a summary recap in the last 30 days:

I’ve spend “125 hours on patrol”

    Hit level 50.
    Got 2 Incarnate Level Shifts

Have most of my build in place, baring 6 purples and 5 Luck of the Gambler: Defense/Endurance (which do not exist, I’m sure of it!)

And have near enough influence to cover what remains to be gotten

Not bad if I do say so myself!

But all that’s just the “hard data”. What was done if you will. It doesn’t speak to how my little Stalker plays, which is like a buzzsaw.
I can run Tip Missions at 0x8 without thinking, and though you may think that only 3 AoEs would make it slow (Burst, Energy Torrent, Ion Total Core Judgement) it doesn’t. Powers recharge so quickly that I can chain Burst->Assassin's Strike->Energy Torrent->Assassin’s Strike without waiting. If I throw in some lower attacks as well the *** have a decent chance to crit so I blow through bosses as I blow up minions/lieutenants.

This character is beyond powerful compared to any other character I’ve run before (haven’t gotten any to this level, and only a few into Incarnate powers at all), and having spent only one month to do it is quite the feat for me. I’m more than able to face anything I come across, and the only thing that gives me pause is defense debuffers.

All and all I’m quite happy with the results and play on doing it again sometime, though without the time delay in posting, because that didn’t work out well...

    Tuesday August 28, 2012 : Addendum

I've gotten the LotGs for the build, but haven't slotted the purples, I have 7 sitting on the market right now, but as the "Great Purple Crash of 2012" has happened, they aren't moving, and I'm not concerned. This character runs great without the second set of Purples, and adding them in will just be extra icing on this already tasty cake.

Also, all my Corruptor ATOs sold for exactly what I had them listed as, eventually.
  5. Day 29: Thursday August 16, 2012

Bought a Purple, converted to Armageddon Rech/Acc
Sold the Armageddon Rech/Acc for 270 million
    Sold a Ragnarok Dam/Rech/Acc for 270 million

Doing my Tips at 0x8 to try to get a purple drop, I know, far fetched, but what else am I to do?
Blew up Eochai and on my 5th Tip what should appear buy a wild Purple! Gravitational Anchor: Immo/End! Wewt! Also picked up a Fortunata Hypnosis: Sleep/Rech while going about stuffs.

Four converters gets me an Apocalypse: Chance For Neg and a Hecatomb Dam/End

Pick up another instant Purple, this time I blow about 10 Converters getting it to be a Hecatomb I don’t have yet, but this gives me four of the set, which I slot.

I have 3 Purples up for sale, and enough Influence to bid on 3 more, so just a couple sales and I should be set. Though I’ll need some conversion money.

And there’s the small point of those LotGs Def/Ends which just don’t exists on the market.

Anyways, I’m going to let that percolate for a bit, and hopefully things will fill!
  6. Day 28: Wednesday August 15, 2012

Sold 2 Purples this morning, not for as much as I’d like, but for more than they were making me sitting in my Market spots. Got one instant buy, took 4 converters to get a damage set though, so I’m out of converters again. Got a Ragnarok: Dam/End though, which seem to be going better than the Hecatombs.

I have four Purples currently, and about the cash to get three more, so I need to make enough to buy three more Purples, then I’ll have enough for the ten my build calls for, then I just drain a ton of converters to get the ones I need, or at least that’s my theory right now.

By evening I’d sold a Hecatomb Dam/Rech (251 million) and a Ragnarok Dam/End (300 million). Could only snag one Purple, crafted and converted to a Ragnarok Dam in 4 converters. Posted for 261 million.

Ugh, spent a good deal of time blowing up AE stuff to roll Silvers, since there’s 9 recipes I need from that pool, but with the cost it’s pretty much pointless, as everyone’s said. Lesson here, listen to people who try things before you, and if it sounds like they’re right, they might just be right.

The real thing I take away from this though is that I can run a "farm" AE map on Ver at 1x8 easy-peasy. Which is something even my old Fire Farmer had issues with, always had to combine to Purples on her where on Ver I'm combining to mostly reds. Power Overwhelming indeed!

Was doing some build stuff, got the LotG Defs that I needed, as well as the set of Obliterations.

Got two more instant Purples, crafted, then went to Ouro to grab some more converters, and 5 Converters later I have a Hecatomb Dam/Rech/Acc and a Ragnarok Dam/Rech/Acc. It’s like printing money!
Post them, and start the waiting!
  7. Day 27: Tuesday August 14, 2012

    Ran SSA1.1, a day late.
Rolled 3 sets of 1500 Tickets hoping to get one of the 12 LotG recipes I need. No luck though. Not a whole lot of supply of those guys around...

    Did my Tips
Bought another Purple, 1 converter got me an Armageddon Dam/Rech/Acc which sold as I was typing this in my doc.

Couldn’t grab any others, but I did grab 2 Performance Shifter: +End procs, also some other odds and ends my build needs. Only things left are the two sets of Purples, a bunch of LotGs, and a set of Oblit (Got the Quad from Hero Merits)
Speaking of Hero Merits, I can grab a bunch, but don’t have enough “days” left to spend them all. Should have thought that one through eh?

Your perception of inf has definitely changed though...for the better.....pretty soon youll be burning a billion for lulz.
True, you didn't say scary or intimidating, but that's what I first think of with these kind of things. My first market experience was probably along the lines of "I need HOW MUCH for one Numina unique!?!?!?!?", which would just lead me to not want to try to sell things on the market either since I may not get the best price for it (because I desire to do everything the "best way"). And I would think that a decent cross-section of the player base might feel the same way, I know that some that I played with when the market first came out thought that way anyway.

I don't think I'll ever burning a billion for lulz though...
  9. Day 26: Monday August 13, 2012

Nothing moved since last night, not surprised considering it hasn’t been that long and it was a double xp weekend, bought some more purples at 175 million each

Four Converters later: (Purchased with an Empyrean Merit)
Coercive Persuasion: Confuse Duration/Recharge successfully converted to Ragnarok: Damage/Endurance Reduction.
Fortunata Hypnosis: Sleep Duration successfully converted to Absolute Amazement: Recharge/Accuracy.
Absolute Amazement: Recharge/Accuracy successfully converted to Coercive Persuasion: Recharge/Accuracy.
Coercive Persuasion: Recharge/Accuracy successfully converted to Apocalypse: Damage/Endurance Reduction.

Nothing has sold today, so I start poking things for Tips, and end up on an Underground. which made it until the Avatar, but then fell apart...
At least we got the 60 thread bonus.

Did Sister Solaris’ DA arc, and chose to go it alone at the end, for some crazy reason, worked out though, only one death. Which speaks to how powerful this character is at this point.
    Ran my Tips.

I've always known the Market wasn't a "scary" place, just never really took the time to get into it. I've done mass-market type stuff on other games, it's just that CoH isn't balanced around having the best, so you can have fun playing with SOs, and not burn any time on marketing. And our little Market is sufficiently different of a system, and quite vast, that the work of "breaking in" always seemed so much less fun than just hitting that baddie over there.

    Day 25: Sunday August 12, 2012

Crafted a bunch of level 50 IOs, not to sell, just to get rid of the salvage. I’ve got common salvage coming out my ears... It’s not uncommon for me to cull stacks of it down to 3 a piece in the middle of a TF or mission rather than not have the chance at uncommon/rare stuff.

Tracked down how to get the last badge needed for Portal Jockey, apparently I should have done it sooner, because it was really easy.

Sold a Hecatomb while doing DA arcs for 289 million.

Realized my day number has been off since Day 10 (the day I’m posting today), I have an extra day now! Now I shouldn't squander it, though I probably will.

Did a TPN, didn’t work out well, not enough people paying attention, not a big deal, I wasn’t paying attention either... Sad for the people that were really trying though.
Still got my Destiny slot, and had enough stuff to craft a T3 version, so that +2 now.

Played the converter game and used 12 converters to get a Blessing of the Zephyr: Knockback Reduction (4 Points), guess that wasn’t worth it... Probably should have just payed the 35 million to get the recipe. Oh well.
Although I did get a Gladiator’s Armor: Teleportation Protection, +Def(All) in only 5 converters.

Blast these “gambling” mechanics, they make me want to test my luck!
Also spent some Astrals on the Steadfast Protection: Resistance/+Def 3% I need. Craft it all up and slot them and I’ve got 6% more defense for the fun of it!

I’ve got bids in for all the other defensive IOs I need, mostly just LotGs, which leaves a set of Obliteration for Burst, Doctored Wounds for Kuji-In Sha, the two sets of Purples for Concentrated Strike and Blinding Powder, and some odds-and-ends Endurance stuff. Pretty close!

Ran another failed TPN, got a lot farther this time, we just didn’t have enough DPS to take down Maelstrom after the Public Opinion Victory. Wasn’t a total loss on my front though, since a Doctored Wounds: End/Rech dropped, which I need for my build!

Also it really felt like my T3 Barrier was helping, especially when those that had them staggered our use to get high res/def for a long time. Was nice to feel like it was helping.
My liquid is down to 650 million, gotta get more to sell! Which means waiting! Weeee!!!!!
  11. Day 24: Saturday August 11, 2012

Nothing else has moved yet, not concerned.
Got a few more badges for Portal Jockey, only one left to get now.
Ran a Positron 1 that was supposed to lead to a Positron 2, then Yin, but there was no agro control, and no one was supporting my poor Kin (who was supporting everyone else), so I excused myself from the rest and joined an Admiral Sutter instead. At least then I’ll have the powers to support myself in an Admiral Sutter.

On Ver I spend some bank on some Purples, get 3 for 175 million each (what? I have over 1.1 billion in liquid right now! ), what I’m lacking though is Converters, I have 2, and 3 enhancements to convert. I spend one Hero Merit for 10 Converters. And use 9 converters to get my 3 Purples to Damage sets, an Apocalypse Dam/Rech/Acc, a Hecatomb Dam/Rech, and a Hecatomb Dam/Rech/Acc. I know I should start getting the Purples together for my build, but I want more influence. Starting tomorrow, any Purple I convert to that I need I won’t sell, but slot, ya, I’ll start that tomorrow...

I list them all for 276 million, and move on to other things.
Did my Tips, and already the Apocalypse Dam/Rech/Acc sold for 325 million.

And the Corruptor ATO bids are reaching up to where mine are listed.
I did an ITF on my Corruptor, and call it a night.
  12. Day 23: Friday August 10, 2012

    Double XP Weekend! Weeeee!
Except I don’t need any XP anymore on my “target character.”
I did sell the Armageddon: Damage, but none of my bids filled.

Don’t have much time to play, and what time I have will be spent on alts getting xp! But one of my Corruptor ATOs sold, which I’m hoping will happen for the rest this weekend, and probably some purple stuff.

Ran a Manticore on my Fire/Kin Corruptor, and got from just 40 to about 41.5

I thought that seemed like an odd thing to post for this thread...
  14. Day 22: Thursday August 9, 2012

Check this morning to find that I’ve only sold a LotG Def/End/Rech, something is definitely up on the market.

I currently have 4 Purples up on the Market, and 320 Mill influence, which is a little less than halfway to what I need to finish my build on the “really expensive IO front,” so I really need sales to start happening again.
    Yes! Hecatomb Rech/Acc sold!

Not what I’m going to concentrate on tonight, want to get my Alpha in order, and generally try to sort things out since I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to play this weekend.

So I can’t stop trying to get money from purples, I’ve got a problem... And it makes me Influence.

Bought a Fortunata Hypnosis: Sleep Duration, crafted and converts to:
Gah! Wasted 3 converters on an in set conversion... Wish that wasn’t the default. Of course if I’d lost a good set on an out of set conversion I’d wish that was the default.

So my second conversion is from Fortunata Hypnosis: Sleep/Rech to Hecatomb: Dam/End, not bad for 4 converters, would have been nicer with just one though! Their last 5 are going for 300+, but I still list for 275 mill, for a hopeful faster turn around.
    Started the DA Incarnate Arcs
The Hecatomb Dam/End sold half-way through my Tips for 350 mill.

This is crazy, I upped my difficulty to 2 for my starting of the DA arcs, then 3 for Tips, and I’ve been doing 2-3 GROUPS of Knives at the same time without blinking... I know they’re -1 to me, but I’m DANCING on seas of Caltrops without issue, taking 12 plus enemies alone out of hide.
Overall having a single level shift is crazy effective!

Sold the Ragnarok Dam/Rech/Acc for 275 (the lesser listed one), which puts me over 1 billion liquid! /em ThrowsAHalf-CapParty

Picked up another Fortunata Hypnosis: Chance to Placate for 170 mill, that set is probably where I pick up at least half of the purples I buy. Craft it as well as the two LotG 7.5s I have, slot the LotGs and convert the Fortunata.

I should put in bids for the rest of the “lesser” IOs I need for my build, any of the lower than 100 million things should be easy to gather up right now.
Fortunata Hypnosis: Chance for Placate becomes Gravitational Anchor: Immob/Rech
    Which becomes Soulbound Allegiance: Dam/Rech/Acc
    Which becomes Fortunata Hypnosis: Sleep/End
    Which becomes Absolute Amazement: Stun
    Which becomes Armageddon: Damage
Wow, longest chain I’ve had converting yet. O_o

Post it for 276 million, so I don’t get hit by the 25 millioners.
And I’ve got exactly 1 converter left, which is pretty good considering I haven’t bought any yet.
The Corruptor sets are still going for ½ what I picked them up for.
Did a Keys, still pretty harsh even with +1
Placed some Purple bids and logged
  15. Day 21: Wednesday August 8, 2012

Nothing moving still, the Corruptor ATOs have dropped to about ½ of what I bought them for, which is bad. It means something had pushed up prices to when I got in on the market, and now the market is crashing, hard. Gonna leave them up for a little bit longer, just to see if 2XP Weekend spikes demand again.

None of my Purple bids have filled at 150 million, nor has my Ragnarok Dam/Rech/Acc sold. I’m going to try to grab some recipes for a little more and lower my selling price to get some more turnover. Purples are the obvious thing for me to stay in right now, even with a lesser margine.
Bought 2 instantly for the price I was going for, one of them being a damage... It never pays to skip things because you “know” it won’t work, try it, and see, make sure that someone isn’t giving you money for free and you just leave it there.

One converter changes the Fortunata Hypnosis: Chance for Placate to another Ragnarok: Dam/Rech/Acc... Here’s hoping my greedy listing is what’s keeping the last one from selling. I place both of them up for 275 million (about 100 million in profit) and move along.

Got on a Tip team that before we even got to the mission door had my PuG senses tingling... Badly...

Lots of stupid comments in chat, and turnover of people before we even got in the door... Which isn’t a super sign that things are going to go wrong, people could just be bailing from having had a dozen successful missions with this group, but something just isn’t right.

First mission was ok, once we got started, but boy did it take longer than it should have... I politely excuse myself and finish my Tips solo.
Ended up on a Keyes Trial rather than doing my Tips anyways, but Anti Matter is the only one left for my Dimensional Warder badge! Finished that up smooth and go back to Tips.

Found my first purple on this character just doing Tips! Weee!
Don’t have enough time to build up my Merit supply again, so I can’t convert any more Merits to Hero Merits, so only those from Tips until I can get some more.

Did weekly, Admiral Sutter, smooth TF. Then piggy-backed into a TNP as they broadcast the Q, and I jumped on one of the few slots.

Crafted the Purple drop I had, then converted:
Absolute Amazement Stun/End to Coercive Persuasion: Contagious Confusion
    Then to Absolute Amazement: Stun
Then to Hecatomb: Chance for Neg Eng

Hopefully one of the 4 Purples I have listed will go sometime
Today I happened to have enough Merits to convert, so the not converting will have to start tomorrow.

Didn’t have time to get the rest of Portal Jockey, didn’t have time to craft a T3 Alpha, didn’t have time to do much hard marketing for my stuff, had too much playing to do!

    Well played.
    It gets better.

And yes, how you look at the prices of things and the rate you can acquire stuff can change so quickly. I'm actually planning my next project now, just to keep myself "on goal" if you will, otherwise I tend to wander between characters a lot. It will be mostly a marketing thing, since the character in question is already level 47.

    Day 20: Tuesday August 7, 2012

Gah, nothing sold by my morning check, which I never like, hopefully something goes today while I’m at work.

Not much time to play, may just get Tips and Hero Merit stuff done.
Sold one Corruptor ATO today, things are probably tightening up for the Double XP weekend, which I don’t need at all for this character, so what am I to do!

Ran Tips, converted a Hero Merit and bought another Lotg 7.5 for my build. What an exciting day! :P
  17. Day 19: Monday August 6, 2012

The weekend really slowed down the sales of Corruptor ATOs, not sure why, it just did, but it’s picked up again, and I’ve got 3 sold this morning and by later that day sold the Armageddon Dam/Rech/Acc. The market must be doing its fluctuation thing, nothing on the purple scene instant-buys for 165 million, so instead I put some bids in to sit for a while.

Did a few Trials, LAM, BAF, TPN and capped my defence at 164.38, which is crazy... Well I'm not sure that's capped defence, but the number in the Combat Attributes window changed colours, which on damage means capped, so I'll just assume. Also unlocked my Interface slot.

Monday night, gotta run my SSA! And since I’m now an Incarnate, I get to run it more for the additional things! Weeeeee!

Ran my Tips, Morality Mission, got a Hero Merit, Converted, bought a LotG 7.5 at 30.

Pretty much empty on Merits though, gonna have to run some Arcs/TFs to beef that up!

Nothing Sold/Bought while playing, 70 million in liquid, 4 bids in for 150 million each about 700 million up for sale, guess I’m not doing THAT bad.
  18. So I've got a question to you readers, since today is the last day (calendar wise) of my 30 day challenge, would you rather I continue to release a day or two at a time, or dump everything quickly?

I've already decided not to do things like this if I do it again. My notes are totally inadequate to write details about what's happened on a day two weeks ago, which means either better notes, or posting day-of kind of things.

    Day 18: Sunday August 5, 2012

Now that the little bit of hitting 50 is out of the way, I can get on with filling out the build and hoarding influence!

Nothing’s selling, so instead I run around and get the Atlas Medallion! Yay more endurance!

Instant bought a Coercive Persuasion Confuse for 160 million, not quite the preference of 150 million, which breaks down in to almost two recipes for each sale, but the margin is still better for the time investment.

Converted it to an Unbreakable Constraint Hold/Rech
Which converted to a Fortunata Hypnosis Sleep/End
Which converted to a Gravitational Anchor Chance to Hold
Which converted to an Unbreakable Constraint Hold/Rech
Which converted to an Armageddon Dam/Rech/Acc

Why couldn’t it have done that the first time it was an Unbreakable Constraint? :P I posted it for 276 million, and I have a low-ball bid on another purple up for 140 mill, and 206 liquid, and about 12 other things selling, lots (for me) tied up in inventory right now, but it feels like I'm getting into a marketing groove.

Purchased the Crushing Impacts for my build, crafted and slotted. Gotta start with something right? Decided to roll some randoms from the Merit Vendor, just because random rolls have to work out sometimes, and got:
    Numina’s Convalescence: Heal/Rech
    Obliteration: Chance for Smashing
    Numina’s Convalescence: End/Heal/Rech
    Performance Shifter: Rech/Acc
    Stupefy: Acc/Stun/Rech
    Celerity: +Stealth
    Obliteration: Acc/Dam/Rech/End
    Performance Shifter: Rech/Acc
    Positron’s Blast: Dam/Acc/End
    Mako’s Bite: Dam/Rech
    Mako’s Bite: Chance for Leathal

Nothing really fits my build, though the Stupefy would have worked if I hadn’t already gotten one of them.

I don’t really want to tie up slots just on bids for my own build, since I’m no where close to the amount I need to finish it, but I really do need some more holes filled, especially on the defensive side.

Since I spent all my merits, I’ve gone back to soloing all the story arcs through Ouro in order, except for the one with all the Preatorean AVs, did that one to get closer to Portal Jockey, just two more AVs on that now! My reading skill bites me on one mission where I stealth to the objective, only to find out it’s a Defeat All, won’t fall for that again this story arc! (No promises about the next arc though...)

Got on an ITF in hopes that I can get some shards out of it. Got 6 shards out of it, which is good, I guess, but the component isn’t one for my alpha slot, so it wasn’t the greatest one to run. I then participated in a Mothership Raid, and got the typical ton of Vanguard Merits, crafted a Spiritual Alpha out of the ITF Component, Vanguard Merit Componet, and 4 Shards, not exactly what I want to make, but costs less shards to get and lets me in to team incarnate content without crazy negative level shifts.

Bought a Hero Merit, and rolled random again, got:
Glimpse of the Abyss: Chance for Psionic Damage
    Luck of the Gambler: Def/End/Rech
    Luck of the Gambler: +7.5%
    Lockdown: Chance for +2 Mag
    Lockdown: Chance for +2 Mag

Which is alright, one +7.5%, but nothing else I need from the rare table.

    Logged for the night.
  19. Day 17: Saturday August 4, 2012

Trying to hit 50, hard. Ran a Penny Yin, ran Sara Moore (should have run Citadel, since that would have gotten me TF commander), which was long, and painful, and ended with just four of us from the starting eight...

Got a Citadel in the evening which got me 50 and TF Commander!

"76 hours on patrol", wow that's fast from what I remember!

So I angle to unlock my Alpha and Honoree is, as usual, a huge pain, probably because my build is lacking on the defensive side right now. Racked up 124k in debt, but then that doesn’t matter any more, except for badges.

Unlocked my Alpha, did Tips, spent a Hero Merit on a roll which didn’t get me any of the recipes I wanted for my build. Going to have to change my focus to buy them one at a time with Hero Merits, or buy them off the market, this rolling thing just hasn't worked out for me yet...

Realised my build has a wasted power in Tactics, well at least wasted for me, gonna have to do something about that, haven’t figured out what yet.

Did a bunch today, called it a night.
  20. Day 16: Friday August 3, 2012

Sold an Obliteration Acc/Dam/Rech and another Corruptor ATO, hoping the weekend brings more movement on the ATO front, since I have a bunch clogging my slots.

No instant Purple this morning... Makes me sad that I can't spend 160 million influence instantly...

Nothing sold today, got on an ITF right as I logged in, pushing for 50!
Hit 47 on the ITF, nothing much else happenning, and sold a few Corruptor ATOs. I got kinda greedy with one of the Purples, listed it for 301 mill, and highest it’s sold as I’ve seen is 300, I hope it sells...

While I completed Tips a bunch more Corruptor ATOs sold.

Bought and crafted my Numina’s Unique, with Hero Merits, still having endurance issues, but I'm not surprised considering how fast all my attacks feel.

Did an Admiral Sutter that was weird, we had to repeat the second mission, but once we did it worked. Good group overall, had a bubbler so I was way passed Def soft capped. Gave me a sense of how things would feel once my build was more filled-out, and it felt gooooood.

We did finish, eventually, took 2 hours though, but almost hit 48!

Also got my 9th Vet Token while playing tonight.

Ummmm, I don't have even a single billion in influence right now, let along multi-billions of influence. I would imagine that I'd either be doing more of the same stuff I've been doing, or I'd end up stockpiling stuff in my base, or I'd just slow down on the marketing and start concentrating on other things.

All of my planning and scheming has been focused on the 30 day window I made for myself, so I don't really have long term plans yet.

    Day 15: Thursday August 2, 2012
    Halfway in, 60 hours spent
Couple Corruptor ATOs bought, re-listed for them for sale this morning.

I sold the Decimation Acc/End/Rech I had hanging around for 30 million, and some more Corruptor ATOs, as well as buying a ton of them at the 22 million price point (which was about the going rate)! (Like 15 O_o So 300+ million in ATOs...)

Got on an ITF while doing Tips, really milking this task Force being the weekly for all I can, but gotta remember to finish my Tips! (Unlike the last time where I forgot...) The Task Force was smooth, nothing interesting to report.

Finished my Tips and bought a Miracle +Recovery for my build, take that endurance issues!

    Also hit 46!
  22. Day 14: Wednesday August 1, 2012

Sold the Obliteration Acc/Dam/Rech for small, and finally sold the Armageddon Dam/Rech/Acc for 300 mill. Now that’s more like it! Lets get this train moving along!

Also bought a bunch of Corruptor ATOs for 22 mill and going to re-list them for more.

No instant buy Purples, again, left some bids up.

Later that day I finally got an instant purple purchase, used 2 Converters to change it into a Ragnarok Dam/Rech/Acc and promptly posted it.

Most of my slots are full with selling things, which I seem to be doing a lot better flipping Corruptor ATOs (random ones) than anything else I’ve tried.

Also ran my Tips, Converted Hero Merit, and rolled random (and got nothing, literally nothing of worth) and sold random small things (like sub 20mill, wow, kinda weird that that is now what counts as “small.”)

    Got a second purple! Squee!

Buy-Craft-Convert (and that convert is a sure step, I need things that move fast for okay money, not “eventually” for good money)
And one converter later I have an Armageddon Rech/Acc! (Still 8 more converters, never purchased any, only gotten from drops, so far.)
    Managed to hit 44.

Just checked right before bed, and in about an hour 3 more ATOs sold (for about 2x what I bought them) and the Armageddon Rech/Acc sold! Time to take my fresh funds and buy some more ATOs!

Put in bids on stacks of 5 for 22 mill, insta-bought one, flipped it back around for sale. All my cash is once again tied up, and most of my slots, but things are starting to move, so I'm feeling happier about the whole project.
  23. So, I'm coming close to the end (on day 27 right now) so I figured I might as well speed up the posting, since I'll probably start to lose interest if I'm not playing this character every day.

    Day 13: Tuesday July 31, 2012

I think I’ve finally worked out the build I want:

    http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/downl...A8FE0355BF0A62

    Or maybe this...

    http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/downl...CCF85F52081557

Man, finally found a framework I like and now I’m just tweaking like crazy!

Ran an ITF, which was the weekly, which got me to 43. With an ITF Weekly I should be able to get a bunch of those to level up.

My money making theory is changing to flipping ATOs, because purple just isn’t working for me, I think I’m pushing the margins too much, but I don’t really have the experience to know that.

Gonna start using Hero Merits to fill out my build (went with the first one), gonna roll some randoms for the first few days, then get specifics. Hope I can get lucky.
  24. Day 12: Monday July 30, 2012
“I’ve spent a total of 46 hours on patrol” so far, which seems like a really small number to me. Of course what I always think of is the hundreds of hours it used to take to get the 50, which it most definitely doesn't take anymore. (Change for the so much better!)

Managed to run an ITF and the weekly, Manticore, and hit 41, flying towards 50, not so much towards my goal of Marketing riches.

Ran SSA1.1, trying to get it at just after the reset, seems I was off on the thought of when I last ran it since it took me several times to get it done. Not a big deal though, doesn't take long, and even at it's worst gives me 5 Merits.

Also took down the Absolute Amazement: Stun/Rech since it hadn't moved yet. I'm still forgetting that I'm focusing on speed not efficiency. Took four converters to convert it to a damage one, an Armageddon Dam/Rech/Acc, and relisted for more.

OMG! Was doing some last minute Summer Events on various chars and ran across War Maid, alt of Organica! (Or so I think according to her signature on the forums) Her threads are obviously my reason to do this! Cool beans!
  25. Day 11: Sunday July 29, 2012

    Pay dirt!

Sold the Scirocco’s Dervish Acc/Dam/End for 15 million, and both the Luck of the Gamblers for 104 and 85 million respectively. Both of those points were fairly conservative listings on my point, at or around where the last 5 had sold, basically I was maximizing my return, not my rate of turnover.

The real point is I finally have the funds to start playing the converter game, if I can get my hands on some 150 million purple recipes. So I put some lowball (142 million) bids on 2 different purple recipes, since that’s all the cash I have, and since none instant filled for 150 million. Hopefully something moves while I’m doing stuffs today to give me a little more buffer.

Bought the Stalker ATO Acc/Dam/End/Rech for my standing 4.1 mill, also picked up the Acc/Dam for the same price. It's taken a while to get them, about a week or so, but for fairly cheap. Also by only having one or two bids up at a time I didn't tie up too many slots/cash waiting for them to fill.

Messed up my tips from the night before, so only did 2 to bring me back to 5s and hit 35

Did a Numina’s since I couldn’t get in on a Manticore (the weekly) or ITF (which is just awesome xp).

None of my bids had filled yet, so I cancel a purple one and start hunting for an instant buy. Got one! This is my first ever crafted purple enhancement, an Absolute Amazement: Stun/Rech. I check it’s price, see it's going for lots, so rather than converting, I just list it. I guess I get to wait and see what happens... Hope it's something good! Otherwise I just lost 12.5 mill on the listing fee...

Bought another Luck of the Gambler +7.5, and don’t even have the money to get the crafting mats, yar, cutting things close.
