Oh C'mon. That excuse is lamer than a legless camel. EVERYone uses those tactics. Even Paladins in D&D are allowed to throw sand in your face.

The problem in a lot of PvP is that it NEEDS dirty tactics to win easily, and they're the same tactics that get you called a (vigorous onanist) across broadcast.

De-Toggling, Phasing, Hiding, TP'ing are all 'Dirty Tricks' and they're hardly just for villains.

Depends, I've seen the Heroes and Villains sit right in the middle of the Drones and refuse to come out. No fun then.

Heroes will always talk about the time they saved someone from under a bus.

Villains will always bore their friends about pushing someone under a bus.

Heroes react, Villains act; but in CoV, the Villain is constantly trying to react, which is why it feels off. Maybe the Mayhem missions will help satisfy that urge to do rather than clear up.

I've gone the Jumping route, but I took TI at level 1 and never took RPD. Had no real problems at all.

So..... Mr. Stalker AS's Mr. Mastermind with one guard, and he only takes 2/3'ds damage; which then sets my Bodyguard on Auto-Gank.

Keep Genin on Bodyguard; Jounin and Oni on Shred mode. 60% Res all with Triple Melee attacks on anyone who gets close.

There's some that would say that; but you need to be in close range of a Orange group of mobs or a Same-Side Drone to use it 'effectively'. It also doesn't work in water.

Oh and expect a LOT of abuse thrown at you if you do get it to work.

Whilst it can't be used with AS, thank god, it can be used in conjunction with Knockout Blow, Total Focus and all your other little heavy hit/heavy hold blows, so don't feel too safe....

Remember, it's almost unresistable and puts you toe to toe with Mr. Brute...

Blaster damage also has unresistable damage though.

If that's snipes worth 500 damage, that means with 3 men out I still take (30%(150)+(2x(350/5))= 290 damage, with the others taking 70 each.

So we're looking roughly at

Damage resistance = 33% from 1 pet, 50% from 2, 60% from 3 and so on, halfing the increase every time.

Versus unresistable damage (30%)

1 pet = 23%, 2 pets=35%, and so on.

But that's against all damage, possibly even Hami's.

A) Beethoven dies
B) We all take a share of damage (30% unresistable)
C) All the ninja's take a share (30% unresistable)
D) Beethoven and myself take a share (30% unresistable)
E) Beethoven takes 30% unresistable and a share, rest take a share.
F) Beethoven takes 30% and me and him take a share.
G) Beethoven takes 30% and the ninja's take a share.

Disagree Cap, the problem with Stalkers in PvP is that you need a specific build/AT/set-up to match Stalkers, and if you do have that match, you can slaughter them. If you don't have that match, you're dead if the coin lands on heads.

That's the problem for a lot of people, no control of their destiny. Stalkers show a incredible level of skill for their enemy, but the enemy has next to no skill, only 'monkey presses the button' to place against the Stalker.

Flip a coin.

Heads you survive.
Tails you die.

What's not to love about that?

It really depends.

As my Blaster, it's a nightmare; I'm trapped with slaughtering people and then being slaughtered.
As my Controller, it's quite fun, but I need respeccing to follow people.
As my Tanker, it's good but the environment cripples my ability to Tank effectively.
As my Mastermind, it's a giggle.
As my Brute, again with the travel powers.

The problem stems with the Environment having too much effect on Players; you have to fight around it, rather than using it to your advantage. Basically, the E in PvP is too strong.

Weasel's speech IS horribly distorted though. Ignoring the smilies or mild annoyance is probably in character for people talking to him for the first time. Similar could be said for '+++' for Robot characters, which is the sound of vocal circuits coming online.

Perhaps, but I do think it's indicative of some RP'ers that things turn elitest at times; and as this thread's already shown, it's rather frightening for new players to be met by this wall of "rules".

If people don't want to interact with those of us that use differing ways of RP'ing, that's fine; but blanket condemnations and jokes about using punctuation in real speech are sometimes just as off-putting as the Assassin Strikes in PvP.

With the hundreds of tools you turn away, there may be a few good players that would have been great people to RP with; that's my concern.

So because some idiots have abused the system, you want to stop that branch completely by disallowing all use of it (no matter how IC it is); in effect, nerfing it?
