People like "Ms Jailbait 09" are attention whores. Don't even acknowledge their existence unless they ask a legitimate question with strait-forward intent.

The bottom line: Don't go out of your way to troll someone. All of you pale in comparison to Hot Heals anyway. When you go out of your way to troll you aren't trolling. You are probably getting trolled and wasting your time... unless you are Hot Heals, which you aren't.

No, I was terrible. The rest of TPM carried me. The point is, again, while most of us seem to be rather large ******-bags, we should tone down the maliciousness (maybe).

It's not an insult. Taking it as one is up to the reader. The point is: a good number of "PvPers" see it fit to relentlessly pursue less experienced players with banters of malicious trash talk. They need to get over themselves.

There is a difference between "nowai i got regin" and "You are a bad player who will never be good, go die in a fire, and make sure your family is with you." If someone really is that bad then there is no reason for you to be putting them down any further.

Let's at least keep a semi-courteous outlook when it comes to dealing with other players.

Ok, once again... This is not a thread for PvP suggestions/flaming the devs/talking about how i13 is bad.

My stance on PvP is that by singling out an individual issue like inherent resistance you are only tailoring any changes to an already heavily flawed system.

Let's try and work with what we have until we push the new system to its limits. Yes, the new system sucks. I know. We all know. We also know that we can't count on the devs for anything. It would be nice to think that they'd do something useful, but we can't count on it.

For there to be PvP at all we have to continue establishing a PvP community. While we have made extraordinary progress, there is a LONG way to go. We have barely touched the beginning of the beginning. Still, we are on the right track. Stay on it. We need more people to step up and take the initiative: start organizing matches, get people to come to the matches - advertise relentlessly and aggressively. Matches don't start themselves.

This is also not a time to be talking **** maliciously to other players. Most of you guys were bad in i12, but that doesn't matter anymore. You are now in the top 1% of skilled players. Act like it.

Regardless, this is not another "flame the devs thread", or even an "i13 sucks thread". This thread was designed to help get the word out that a new PvP community is developing, and that anyone who has interest in seeing it succeed should take the initiative and help out.

Shoot, I'd love the devs to come on and just say:

"No, we are not happy with the changes and we understand neither are players. Unfortunately our hands are tied at the moment. We are continuing to read players feedback and will be working to improve PvP in the future."

I'd be much more willing to participate in PvP events if the devs were to come out and say this.

For now, I can only see boycotting PvP as an option to get the message through that; " I am not happy with pvP. it isn't fun. Please fix it."
The devs have shown time after time that they are both ignorant of the dynamics of their own game and incapable of making precise changes to the game. I'm not counting on them much at this point.

Honestly, I'd go stalker redside to start. /WP stalks don't need anything other than a stealth IO for basic PvP functionality. Not only that - but a stalker is also a viable team arena character that is fairly easy to get used to. After you find your niche in either zones or arena you should consider rolling more specialized characters to suit your playing preferences - Blasters/doms for offense... TAs/FFs/Colds/MMs for disruption, and Healers (namely emps) for support roles.

    Good luck!

Bing! I actually got signed up for it as a joke by either Rystorm or P-spiner... Idk which

As for the idea that we shouldn't revitalize a PvP community because the Devs will somehow think that they were right in making the i13 changes:

I don't care about the devs, or what they think. They know as well as we do that i13 may as well have been an April fools joke.

Unless all participants are in the same 2 SGs, 2 team matches bigger than 8v8 are not possible. Matches with 3 teams are pretty silly, as they involve alot of circumstance and kill-stealing.

We have been considering running multiple KB matches at the same time to compensate for the overload of people.

The test server is indeed much better for many reasons. We first need to establish a PvP community though. When we did matches on test pre-i13 there was already an established ladder over there. We will need to continue doing matches on live servers for some time so that more people will be attracted to arena PvP. Once that happens, I will definately push to get matches run on the test server.

It's actually getting there. I really mean it when I say this is the first time PvP has moved in a forward direction since i13 hit.

This isn't another "let's get more older players to come back" attempt - it's not an attempt to get a ladder together on the test server when almost no one has connections to the test server.

This is a promising attempt to rebuild and reestablish a PvP community.

  18. Welcome and thanks.

I remember the flying Elec blasters, by the way. Rofl.
  19. Drop fighting. Really, you don't need it... at all. Pick up fitness - you get another Performance Shifter proc to help against therms, and Hurdle is really helpful for landing melee.

I have NEVER lost on my Fire/Regen... you shouldn't even come close to dying in most cases. The fighting pool really isn't needed.
  20. For arena PvP you want to go with Ice Mastery on an FF so you can have a phase and perception/tohit.

On a mind/FF you'd primarily be disrupting enemy offense in a team arena match. That would involve KBs, Cages, TK, Confuse, Holds, ect.

As for Emps, Ill/emp will still be the best in an 8v8 - although the difference between going Ill over anything else would be very marginal.

    Mac:

Emps are in good demand right now.

As for disruption, I think MMs could be great. Colds, FFs, and TAs have already proven their worth in the new system as well. Grav control is pretty beastly, too.
  24. Are you primarily considering playing in PvP zones or the Arena?
  25. The issue with doing a league style event with preset teams is that you get stacked teams. Look at the last FPvPL. Team Pokemasters was BEYOND stacked. The only team that even scored a kill against us was the Pwny Xpress team, and that was against our B-team (we still won 14-1 anyway).

With a draft pick you get a good mix of experienced players and not-so-experienced ones. Keep in mind that the last FPvPL was primarily composed of test server PvP teams, so they weren't too discouraged by losing to more stacked teams. The population of a new FPvPL might not be so resilient.

If KBs keep up at the rate they are going on freedom, we may soon be able to start running more casual matches with preset teams as we establish a player base. From there we can get started on a league. I think it's still a tad too early to attempt one yet. We do need organizers to get the more casual matches going and help establish a player base, though. Some of you forum jocks should get on that :P
