Chapter IV: Taming of the Wild

    -~Werehound~-

Werehound sat in a hidden corner of Kings Row. He had been losing control over his body, changing between human form and his werewolf form rapidly. The last thing he remembered was being in Steel Canyon, but now he is in Kings Row with a kidnapped hero.

Werehound turned to the hero with a sheet over her head. Werehound tried to speak, but everything came out as roars. The hero trembled in fear. Her hands and feet were tied up and had no way of escaping.

‘What did I do, how did this happen?’ thought Werehound to himself. ‘How did this all begin?’

Werehound felt his body begin to shrink, returning back to his normal form. He became James Dean once again.

“This has gone on far enough,” muttered James.
“What did you say?” asked the hero.

James removed the sheet from the hero. James recognized the hero as Phantoma Storm, who he has fought with and has even saved him.

    “I’m really sorry,” said James.
“Oh, yes, you should be,” said Phantoma Storm. “You messed with the wrong hero.”

Phantoma Storm suddenly vanished and reappeared next to James.

“Feel my wraith, villain,” said Phantoma.

Freezing rain fell from the sky and smashed down on James. James felt his body change once again, back to Werehound.

“SMASH!” shouted Werehound as he slammed his fists down onto Phantoma Storm.

Phantoma called a strong gust of wind to knock Werehound off his feet, sending him back a few yards. Werehound ripped out a piece of the ground and tossed it at Phantoma, pinning her to the ground.
A small tornado formed, lifting the piece of the ground off of Phantoma and throwing it at Werehound. Werehound quickly dodged and ran for his life as the tornado chased after him.

Werehound had only one place to go…back to the Rogue Isles.

    -~Radevil~-

Radevil regained consciousness in an Arachnos laboratory. She was lying down on a table, chained down so she wouldn’t escape. Around her were Ghost Widow, Black Scorpion, Lord Recluse and an old scientist.

    “What’s happening?” asked Radevil.
“You lost control over your powers,” said Ghost Widow.
“I still think we should kill her,” said Black Scorpion.
    “No,” said Ghost Widow.
“No, she is much to valuable to us,” said Lord Recluse. “Did you know that you released an atomic blast?”

    Radevil looked confused.

“So what do you want to do?” asked Radevil.
“We are just testing something,” said Ghost Widow.
    “Testing what?” asked Radevil.

Lord Recluse picked up a small hand mirror from behind him and put it in front of Radevil’s face. Radevil gasped in horror.

Part of her skin was beginning to dissolve and a new metallic form took its place.

“What is that?” asked Radevil. Radevil took another look at the mirror. “I know what it is, its radium.”

    Ghost Widow nodded.
“That’s what we think it is,” said Ghost Widow. “How did you know?”
“I used to study radiology at Paragon University,” said Radevil. “So, what are we going to do?”

    Ghost Widow smiled.

“We are going to build you a body suit so the radium is maintained and not let loose, affect us,” said Ghost Widow.
“Will I ever be allowed to take the suit off?” asked Radevil.
“Yes, once you learn to control your powers,” said Ghost Widow.

    -~Phantoma Storm~-

“Where are you?” shouted Phantoma Storm as she flew around Paragon City, looking for Werehound.

After an hour of searching, Phantoma gave up and sat down in Galaxy City.

“Excuse me,” said a voice from behind Phantoma.

Phantoma turned around and saw a heroine.

“Hi, but, I think I know you,” said the heroine. “My name is Cass…I mean, Amethystar. I’m a new hero to Paragon City.”
“Hello, Amethystar,” said Phantoma. “My name is Phantoma Storm.”
“I think I saw you, uh, die,” said Amethystar, nervously.

Phantoma took a step back, surprised.

“Yes, it is possible, but,” said Phantoma Storm.
“You’re alive. I watched you die but now you are alive,” said Amethystar. “I saw you explode but you’re alive!”

Phantoma noticed a ring with an amethyst gem on Amethystar. The ring began to glow and gave off a warm wave of energy.

“Your ring, it’s glowing,” said Phantoma, pointing to Amethystar’s ring.

    Amethystar looked at her ring.

“It does that, but hasn’t ever glowed that bright before,” said Amethystar.

Phantoma Storm watched as dark portal appeared behind Amethystar. Before Phantoma could say anything, an arm came out of the portal and grabbed onto Amethystar.

“Help!” screamed Amethystar as the arm pulled her into the portal.
“No!” screamed Phantoma as the portal quickly closed.
“No!” cried another voice. A heroine appeared from behind a tree. “I was supposed to be watching her! Silent Spy is going to kill me!”

Phantoma Storm froze and turned at the hero.

“Did you say Silent Spy? She’s alive?” asked Phantoma.
“Yes? And you are?” asked the heroine.
    “I’m Phantoma Storm,” said Phantoma.
“I’m Netherflare,” said the heroine, in tears.
“We need to rescue Amethystar,” said Phantoma. “How does Amethystar know Silent Spy?”
“Amethystar is Silent Spy’s mother,” said Netherflare.
“But she looked so young,” said Phantoma.
“Long story,” said Netherflare. “Any ideas on how to save her?”

Another portal opened from behind Phantoma.

“Watch out!” shouted Netherflare as an arm pulled Phantoma Storm into the portal.

Netherflare quickly jumped into the portal after her as the portal closed.

    -~ZapperScurge~-

The Malta agent held the gun at ZapperScurge’s head as ZapperScurge designed a blueprint for a new robot.

“It’s done,” said ZapperScurge, handing the blueprint to the Malta agents. “It’s a heat-seeking robot.”

The Malta took the blueprints and lowered the gun from ZapperScurge’s head.

“Now build it,” said the Malta agent.
    “Sure thing,” said ZapperScurge.
“There’s all the material you should need, let us know if you need more,” said the Malta agent.

ZapperScurge looked through the materials, smiling. After seven hours of working, he was done.

“The robot was small, but should cause a lot of destruction,” said ZapperScurge.
“What can it do?” asked the Malta agent.
    “Watch this,” said ZapperScurge.

ZapperScurge grabbed the controlling device and walked towards the door to the room. He pressed the main button.

The robot began to blast lasers at everyone in the room as ZapperScurge ran out. As ZapperScurge escaped, the robot performed its grand finale. The robot exploded into pieces, killing everyone in the room.

ZapperScurge escaped safely and looked around him. There was a giant nuclear missile.

    “Where am I?” asked ZapperScurge.

ZapperScurge used a device he had to find where he was. He was in Warburg.

    Chapter III: Guilt

    -~Figi~-

Figi sat in her small spaceship, floating aimlessly in space.

“I don’t belong here,” muttered Figi.

She had been forced to go into space against her will, to look for someone who may not even be there.

In the distance, she found something shocking.
She screamed in panic as she looked into the black hole.

“No!” shouted Figi as her tiny ship drifted towards the black hole at an alarming speed.

Figi began to cry as the ship began to enter the endless, spinning void of destruction. Figi pulled on a lever that had a label on it reading ‘Hyper Mode’.
The tiny ship suddenly increased its speed and went right through the black hole. The ship made it through the black hole and into a new dimension. Figi felt the ship begin to rumble as it increased in speed and then it came to a sudden stop as the ship crashed.

The ship exploded into pieces, tossing Figi into the air.

As she was being tossed, she felt the particles in her body begin to separate and watched as they vanished.

Her body then rebuilt, but she was in a different location. She was in a dance club, in front of a DJ.

“You’re lucky I was able to teleport you here,” said the DJ.
    “Where is here?” asked Figi.
“This is Pocket D,” said the DJ.

Figi looked around and froze in shock when she noticed a familiar face.

“NeoRadiation?” asked Figi as she walked over to the hero, who was sitting at the bar with a cat-girl. Figi pushed the cat-girl out of the way and sat next to NeoRadiation.

“Later, night cat,” said NeoRadiation to the cat-girl.
“What are you doing here?” asked Figi. “And where are we?”
“We’re at Pocket D, it’s a multi-dimensional club,” said NeoRadiation. “And, I’m here for the same reason you are.”
“You mean you were sent into space to look for Radevil, was sucked into a black hole, crashed into a rock, exploded, had your body split into millions of pieces and randomly was put here too?” asked Figi.
    “Well, uh, no,” said NeoRadiation.

    Figi looked around.

“All I want to know is how to get out of here,” said Figi.
“The club is split into two sides. Red and blue, villains and heroes,” explained NeoRadiation. “There are doors to get to the Rogue Isles and doors to get to Paragon City.”

Figi stood up from her seat.

“Thanks,” said Figi as she walked out of Pocket D.

    -~Radevil~-

Radevil knocked on the door of Lord Recluse’s mansion.

The door swung open and two Wolf Spiders welcomed her inside. Ghost Widow ran down the steps of the mansion and ran towards to Radevil.

“Radevil,” said Ghost Widow. “I thought you were dead. I sent a friend of yours into space out to look for you.”
    “You did what?” asked Radevil.
“I sent your friend, Figi, to look for you,” said Ghost Widow.

Radevil stared at Ghost Widow in shock.

    “Why?” asked Radevil.
“She’ll be fine, I’m sure of it,” said Ghost Widow. “But right now, we have a bigger task at hand, follow me.”

Radevil followed Ghost Widow into a meeting room. In to meeting room, Black Scorpion, Captain Mako, Scirocco and Lord Recluse.

“Hello, Helen,” welcomed Lord Recluse. “It’s good to see your face again.”
“Please, call me Radevil,” said Radevil.

Ghost Widow pulled out a chair for Radevil at the conference table. The six villains sat down around the dim-lit table.

“What’s on the agenda of today?” asked Ghost Widow.
“How is your scavenger hunt going, Sharky?” asked Black Scorpion.
“Shut it,” replied Captain Mako. “Sharkhead Isle is doing fine, hero activity has decreased a lot.”
    “Perfect,” said Lord Recluse.
“We do have a situation,” said Ghost Widow. “I have been noticing increasing hero activity in Siren’s Call and in Warburg.”
“Siren’s Call is hero territory,” said Radevil.

The other villains stared at her in anger.

“No, it is unclaimed territory,” said Lord Recluse.
“In Warburg, the heroes have been finding out more and more about the web,” said Ghost Widow.
“And the weapons?” asked Lord Recluse.
    “What weapons?” asked Radevil.
“We have control over the weapons, for the most part,” said Ghost Widow.
“Make sure that doesn’t slip,” said Lord Recluse.

    Lord Recluse turned to Scirocco.

“Do you have anything to say?” asked Lord Recluse.
“I have been watching over St. Martial,” said Scirocco. “No big danger there, although Pocket D has opened up, but that imposes no threat.”
“Shall we destroy the heroes in Pocket D?” asked Black Scorpion. “I want to bash some heads in.”
“No,” said Lord Recluse quickly. “That is an area meant for peace. As Scirocco said, it impo—”

The conference room exploded into pieces as an atomic bomb was released within the room. The entire west wing of the mansion then collapsed.

Radevil was unaffected by the explosion and stood standing in the middle of it all, exhausted.

“Lord Recluse?” asked Radevil, looking around. “Ghost Widow? Black Scorpion? Anybody?”

Ghost Widow appeared before her, unharmed.

“What did you do?” screamed Ghost Widow.
    “I don’t know, I just…” started Radevil.

Radevil felt her body weaken and she fell to the ground, unconscious.

    -~ZapperScurge~-

ZapperScurge stood in a laboratory with papers for blueprints in front of him. He tried to call his robots to come and help him, but he was not in distance of radar.

“What do you want me to do?” asked ZapperScurge to his captors.
“Build us robots,” said a Malta agent.

ZapperScurge laughed and turned to the Malta agent.

“You just don’t understand, do you?” asked ZapperScurge. “I said no.”

Marcus Hill drove home after a long day of work in Kings Row. He had just been fired from being a mechanic after making a mistake on fixing a car. When driving home, his car was stopped by a group of Trolls.

“What do you want?” asked Marcus, rolling down the car window.
“We want you moneys,” said the Troll leader.
    “Dyne,” said another Troll.

Marcus reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. He pulled out a few dollars, but quickly hit the gas before handing them the money.

He sped off and drove to his home as fast as he could. In the rearview mirror, he watched as the Trolls chased after him, close behind.

Marcus parked in front of his apartment and ran up the steps, being chased by the Trolls all the way to his apartment. Marcus opened the door into his apartment as bullets were shot at him.
He had one bullet skim his arm, but was no major wound. He slammed the door alarming his family who was eating dinner.

“What is it honey?” asked his wife, Michelle.

The Trolls were knocking on the door furiously. Marcus looked at his kids. He was a proud father of five. His two oldest children, Simon and Martha were sixteen and thirteen. His other three sons, Anderson, Bobby and John were ten, eight and six.

“You need to hide,” said Marcus. “The Trolls are strung out on Dyne and they want our money, go and hide.”

Simon took Anderson, Bobby and John out through the fire escape. Martha looked at her father, frozen in fright.

    “Dad?” asked Martha. “I’m scared.”
“It’s okay honey, go with your brother,” said Marcus.

Martha slowly climbed out of the fire escape, following her brothers.

“Michelle, call the police and ambulance,” said Marcus.

The Trolls began to bang on the door harder, ready to break it open.

Marcus pulled chairs and sofas in front of the door to hold back the Trolls.

“They are on there way,” said Michelle, hanging up from the police. “We need to get out of here.”

The door bashed open as three Trolls barged into the apartment. One of the Trolls punched Marcus in the face, knocking him to the ground. Another Troll grabbed Michelle by the neck and choked her.

“Stop!” screamed Marcus, tackling the Troll.

The third Troll pulled out a gun and aimed it at Marcus.

“No!” screamed Michelle, jumping infront of the Troll. The gun fired as Michelle was shot in the chest.

“Michelle!” cried Marcus as he ran over to Michelle.

A Troll lifted up Marcus and tossed him into the wall.
Marcus curled over in defeat and pretended to be dead. The Trolls left the apartment as the police arrived.

Marcus was taken into the ambulance and asked questions by the police.

“Where are my kids?” asked Marcus.
“What kids?” asked the police officer.
“My kids, there are five of them. Four boys and a girl,” said Marcus.
“I’m sorry, they must be missing,” said the police officer. “We’ll start searching immediately.”

The police officer left Marcus and ran over to a group of other police officers. The group split up, looking for the children as the ambulance door shut and Marcus was taken away to the hospital.

After six months of searching, the police did not find the children. Michelle was buried and Marcus was alone. He had nothing to live for. He had no job, no family, he had nothing and it was all his fault. Until the day he crossed a Crey Industries worker in Brickstown.

Marcus had just witnessed the worker rob a woman and the Crey Industries worker noticed Marcus.
The worker pointed a gun to Marcus’s head and Marcus found this as an opportunity. He told the worker he was looking for a job, and a few days later, Marcus was hired as a janitor.

After three years of working at Crey Industries, Marcus still did not receive a promotion. However, a new worker, Saadiq Nightfall, was hired and instantly promoted to the head of science. Marcus became overcome with jealousy and was pleased when Crey Industries attempted to kill Saadiq. Saadiq managed to escape and immediately quit his job.

Marcus took advantage of this situation and talked to Countess Crey about a promotion. She signed him up for an experiment to increase someone’s intelligence. The operation was successful and Marcus became a genius. However, Marcus had a partially exposed brain. The exposure was expected to increase, so Marcus quickly built a helmet to cover and maintain the exposure.

Marcus became the head of science and was given all the materials he needs. He began to build robots. After months of working on his first design, the first robot was complete. He named it after his son, Anderson. He created two more models of the robot, naming them Bobby and John.
He then created more advanced versions, naming them Simon and Martha. As his final and most powerful design, he built his most prized possession, Michelle.

As Marcus grew in power, so did Saadiq, but in a different way. Saadiq became Surgetron, a hero. Marcus became more and more valuable and powerful to Crey Industries. Marcus took on the name ZapperScurge, meaning ‘Scurge of the Zapper’, referring to Surgetron.

ZapperScurge became an evil villain, sworn to seek revenge against his arch-nemesis, Surgetron.

“I am not going to build you any robots,” said ZapperScurge confidently to the Malta agent.
“Well then, I guess we are just going to have to force you to then,” said the Malta agent, pointing a gun at ZapperScurge’s head.

No-one seems to have pointed it out publicly yet, probably because it just went online yesterday, but Comic #10 is up.

Now, page 6. I ask you, my fellow Co*-ites, [censored]? Am I just misunderstanding panel 3 on page 6? That's Numina talking, not Sister Psyche!

Also, page 13. Breasts don't look like that. Especially Swan's. That poor girl appears to be rather bizarrely deformed. I mean, yay for the Vindicators finally showing up, but that panel's got problems.

    Chapter II: Searching Party

    -~Figi~-

Figi followed Ghost Widow through a secret passage under Lord Recluse’s mansion. At the end of the passage was a large laboratory.
On the walls were giant test tubes with people inside. The people were deformed and had spider legs coming from their backs.

“They are called Arachnoids,” said Ghost Widow.
    “Ah,” said Figi.

Ghost Widow led Figi to a small ship, with room for four or five people.

    “What’s this for?” asked Figi.
“You said Radevil may be with the Rikti in space,” said Ghost Widow. “Correct?”
“Ya, but, I don’t know for sure,” said Figi.
“Well, that’s what you are going to find out,” said Ghost Widow.
“Me? Why me? Why not you?” asked Figi.
“I have work to take care of here,” said Ghost Widow.
    “I’m not going,” said Figi.
    “Oh, really?” asked Ghost Widow.

Figi felt the soul in her body being slowly torn out.

    “Stop!” screamed Figi in pain.

Her soul snapped back into her body and knocked her down. Figi fell into the ship as Ghost Widow slammed the door shut.

“Good bye,” said Ghost Widow with an evil smile as she waved good-bye.

Ghost Widow pushed a large red button and the ship began to lift off the ground.

“No!” screamed Figi as the ship was launched.

    -~Netherflare~-

Netherflare had just returned from a meeting with Jessica Thine, also known as Silent Spy. She sat in the Hero Registration room in Hero Corps Agency building, looking for Silent Spy’s mother, Cassandra. However, no older-looking heroes were there, just young heroes.

“Is there a Cassandra Thine here?” shouted Netherflare in desperation.

A young woman rose her hand.

    “Yes?” asked the woman.
“No, you can’t be the right one,” said Netherflare.
“How many Cassandra Thine’s are there?” asked the woman.
“Do you have a daughter?” asked Netherflare.
“Yes, her name is Jessica,” said the woman.

Netherflare looked at the woman in shock.

“You’re Silent Spy’s mom?” asked Netherflare.
    “Yes,” said Cassandra.
“You look too young,” said Netherflare.

Cassandra laughed and pointed to her ring.

“This ring made me younger, it also gave me powers,” said Cassandra.

Normally, Netherflare wouldn’t believe this, but after all that has been happening lately, she had no reason to doubt anyone.

“Oh,” said Netherflare. “I was sent to look after you.”
“I don’t need anyone to look after me,” said Cassandra angrily.

Cassandra quickly turned around and stormed off into a registration room.

    -~Phantoma Storm~-

Phantoma Storm searched everywhere in Paragon City, with no sign of ZapperScurge, who had just attacked her.

She had sent her Phantom Army to search, but they still have not returned. She even made it rain to make the robots rust and slow down to make the search easier, but to no avail.

“Where can he possibly be?” asked Phantoma Storm.

She sat down on a cardboard box in a back alley of Kings Row, waiting for her Phantom Army to return.

A sheet went over her head and pulled her back. She fell to the ground, blindfolded and was dragged away.

    -~Surgetron~-

Surgetron followed a group of Malta agents around the Rogue Islands.

“Are you sure that he is here?” asked the Malta agent.
“I’m positive he is somewhere in the Rogue Isles,” said Surgetron.

Surgetron and the Malta agents had been looking for ZapperScurge for a while. If they do not find him, Surgetron will be forced to work for the Malta.

They walked through the streets of Sharkhead Island when a laser was shot at one of the Malta.

A few more lasers were shot, followed by a series of more powerful guns. The only one left was Surgetron.

A man appeared from behind a building.

    “Hello,” said the man.
“Hello, ZapperScurge,” said Surgetron, standing in front of his arch-nemesis.

ZapperScurge took a step forwards towards Surgetron.

“I think its time me and you had a little talk,” said ZapperScurge.
    “Oh, really?” asked Surgetron.
“Yes, I think we should talk about wha–”, started ZapperScurge.

However, he was cut off as Surgetron blasted high voltage bolts of electricity into his chest.

ZapperScurge fell to the ground as the Malta immediately handcuffed him.

“Thank you,” said a Malta agent.
    “No, thank you,” said Surgetron.

    -~Radevil~-

Radevil sat in a prison cell on the super-Rikti space ship.

“What do you want with me?” asked Radevil.
“You are a prisoner of war,” said the super-Rikti chief.
    “What war?” asked Radevil.
“The Riktian war,” said the chief. “We are the more advanced and evolved Rikti. We are at war with the inferiors.”
“I’m not involved with any of this,” said Radevil.
“Why were you on their ship?” asked the chief.
“I was captured, just like you did to me.”

The super-Rikti pressed a button, opening the prison cell door.

“Then you are free, but you have nowhere to go,” said the chief. “You have no way of escaping.”

    Radevil smirked.

    “Watch me,” said Radevil.

Radevil released radiation all around her, poisoning the nearby super-Rikti guards. She then launched a cone of electrons at the chief. The chief was tossed into the air and crashed into a wall.

Radevil ran to the cockpit and attacked the two super-Rikti pilots. She took control of the ship and pressed a random button, which separated the cockpit from the rest of the ship.

Radevil tried to control the ship, but did not know how. The next thing she knew, she was in the earth’s atmosphere, about to crash into the ocean.

Radevil quickly opened the door to the ship and jumped out. She flew into the air and watched as the ship sunk and exploded.

    “Wow,” said Radevil.

In the distance, she spotted land. She flew there as quick as she could, when she arrived, she immediately recognized where she was.

“I’m home,” she said as she hovered over Nerva Archipelago.

---Next Chapter: Radevil returns home as Figi is sent to look for her. Meanwhile, ZapperScurge is forced into work.---
