Oh and still have not gotten a success....and I havent been the leader on any of these.
Now lets assume for a moment im the WORST player in the world, is this trial so tightly tuned that one bad player can ruin it for 23 others?
That..... thats not good... -
Quote:Hide people behind anonymity and they will sell people out very quickly for reward.Yeah... no they aren't. I'm a fairly damn cynical person, and even I don't believe this.
I dont know who was at fault here the leader or the players, but this trial seems to be causing a bit more than the usual amount of tension around. -
Quote:I play on virtue, freedom and justice.People where you play are apparently exceptionally stupid.
I declare them a poor reason to judge anything about content made by anyone.
This particular incident was on virtue, someone started up a full, he came back a bit later yelling that about 8 people had left right after the 250, I wasnt on that trial so I dont know the exact details.
I wouldnt call this stupidity, its selfishness.....their own benefits override anyone else's.
99.999999999% of mmo players are selfish to the extreme, The devs know this, they arent new developers, they know players will hose over 23 other people for the smallest reward.
This isnt exageration, you know this as well as I do, that players are incredibly selfish and will act like this with the slightest provocation.
I also think there is no way they can justify a farm nerf without a nerf to tyrant too.
actually let me clarify this.
if he wasnt clear it was a full and not a farm, thats stupidity on the leaders part
If he was clear and people just left anyway, thats selfishness.
I had just come back from my own farm a short bit ago and was talking with a friend so I just saw the aftermath. -
Whats really got me convinced this will change.
Is people starting full trials arent being specific enough or maybe people joining just dont care and enough are leaving after the 250 that the trial cant continue.
So they are aborting the trial coming back and trying again, its really rather sad....
Im guessing Tyrant will get some nerf and some of the IXp will be back loaded, I doubt they would just nerf the ixp without some sort of tyrant reduction. -

Quote:Too many currencies, they dont want to add more currencies.I'm surprised they didn't go that one extra step and add Unique Widgets that are specifically necessary for the ever-annoying crafting part of the equation which you can only get as drops at the completion of the Trial.
They are probably going to require at least one success or something like that to unlock the next slot though. -
I havent touched a full run since yesterdays failfest, right now Im just finnishing up farms on my last 2 toons.
It seems most of the trial launches are now farms, its very hard to get a full run going, I saw one poor leader was trying while I fully hybrided out my character before he actually got to lauch it.
It might get better it might not, but the way I see it, by the time it gets figured out one way or another it wont be my problem. -
Quote:Im expecting something like this, thats why Im farming all my characters now.Another possible fix would be to add a 20 hour cooldown on earning the Hybrid slot IXP if Tyrant wasn't brought under 50% health.
It wont happen before tuesday.
farm now or pay later.
If this happens first of all players will SCREAM bloody murder, and they will still fail.
Though honestly I dont see this happening without a major major nerf to Tyrant. -

Quote:No just missed that part. How do you derive a regular group that plays together when I said PUG? I mean you could assume I'm lying, but then this discussion is moot.
It was a pure PUG. I knew the lead and that was about it.
Plenty of people have succeeded on 24 man teams. Perhaps you have an issue, not the trial?
It still doesnt mean anything.
Ive failed every group ive been on, never was leader, was with different leaders.
Which either means one of two things both of which are bad.
A/ one person being terribble can mess an entire league.... I doubt its that bad, and I dindt do anything horribly wrong.
B/ pugs for the most part arent getting the hang of it for the most part.
How godly you or your pug is is irrelevant..... most pugs are failing.. to the point where people cant even launch full trials because 1/3 of the people are leaving after the 250. -
oh now your just trolling me.
I never said it was impossible
Just the average run of the mill pug is going to fail much more than succeed and thats going to give the trial a bad rep and its just going to wind up being farmed for the first part and otherwise ignored by the general populace once all things settled down.
So all the stories about I did this trial with 20 blind people isnt going to change anything. -
-
Quote:BUt they know their players they have done this before. It's not the fault of the devs if they make a Trial that players fail because they won't follow instructions.
If players fail because a few people dont follow instructions it gets a bad pug rap then never gets run.
Dont say this doesnt happen...
Keyes..... a few bad players could really mess this up before the nerf, so no one ran it, to the point they not only had to increase reward, they had to nerf it HARD too before anyone would run it. -

Quote:Dont think so, any trial that cant be done by half the league doing it correctly is doomed to fail horribly in pugs.I've done it three times. First time was a PUG of 13 and we made it. Every other time we failed (with larger leagues).
The failures are due to people being incapable of listening to instructions. As mentioned above, this one doesn't have as much slack for the slackers. Everyone has to be on their game and paying attention to get by. If that is the case, it's really not that hard. I'm reasonably sure that once people get over their cranial rectal inversions, the success rates will improve markedly.
PERIOD. -
I get the feelings we will see occasional farms other than that the trial will dry up unless Tyrant gets nerf .

Quote:I don't disagree, all of the MAG runs I have seen after the first couple real attempts I was on early in the day have all been 250 IDF farms.
I can live with that, I was getting my ixp 20-25% in 7 minutes. I plan on this being SOP until the devs adjust things to be more PUG friendly. The question is, how much damage will be done in the meantime.
I know I'll be doing as many of these farm runs as I can until the trial is closed down because of all the whining about people all quit after 250 IDF.
All the devs have to do with this trial is tone down the -regen resistance and increase the time for well connections to reappear.
Tyrant is going to get nerfed so hard he is going to have a foam head. -
Quote:Not the same. The early LAM runs were like that. Players would clear all they could for iXP because too often the trial would fail because of people not using acids/grenades. As time went on, players got better with temp powers. Now we have high risk slams for getting drops.
This isnt any faster, easier or more fun than a lam or a baf?
So its never going to be run for components, so once the farming phase is over its going to the attic.
Also because players have gotten a bad taste in the mouth because of this, its not going to work. -
Doesnt really seem to matter.
Everyones farming it now, even full trials cant get started because either
a) not enough interest
b) people bailing after the 250
Id recomend everyone farm now this will probably get changed tuesday. -
Quote:The problem seems to be if even a few people are new, dont follow direction dont do everything perfect it falls apart quickly and you cant finish.I personally ran 5 of them in a row when the issue hit, and only the first failed at the end. Once everyone was doing what they were supposed to, it wasn't difficult at all.
The nice part is that you get emp merits every time you run it no matter what.
You have no room for error, no room to carry bads, disconects, new players, etc.
This means its always going to have a high failure rate even when people know what they are doing. -
Quote:Sometimes volume can influence things reason cant.I've never been clear on the reason why anyone would want on their side the people that are most easily swayed in this manner.
My argument is reasonable, that the trial isnt fun and encourages the worst behavior in players.
But the devs wont listen to someting like this, so volume is going to be needed on this one. Lots of volume. -
Quote:I dont remember seeing this with Baf, but I didnt start doing them till a week or two in, so that could be the reason.Yeah, because that's such a clear indication of how this trial is a disaster. Nothing like that ever happens with other TFs or trials, right?
Give it up, dude. Personally, I don't believe your reasons for not liking the trial, but that's neither here nor there. You're allowed to dislike it. You disliking it does not equate to it being some kind of disaster by the devs. Stop acting like it is, and trying to cast people's normal shenanigans as though they're proof of it.
Why would I stop, in general hyperbole and exagerated examples are much more effective at swaying people than rational arguments.
Rational arguments might work better on the devs, but on forum readers who are on the edge about an issue, trial disaster horror stories might make them start thinking, you know this trial isnt really that good.
Then before you know it, Tyrant gets his pants nerfed off, luckily he isnt sticking it in our face on the splash screen when they do. -
Hahaha on virtue, two leagues are trying to put together a farm and a full trial at the same time, they are fighting like crazy, getting the wrong people, people are leaving on the real trial and trying to kill the bosses on the farm.
This couldnt be any funnier if it tried.....
I dont even know how the devs came up with this disasterous trial, but its an almost endless source of amusement. -

Quote:Classic developer tacticI don't think you'd disagree that the level shifts should be zone/league wide and that the shifts should be noticeable, am I right?
And none of this excuses pushing the -regen resist change live without testing (I just checked all the beta patch notes and it wasn't in any of them) to see if changing the -regen resist with the other changes was actually good for the trial.
If it's not beneficial to players push it live test it later...
