Some players because of their builds or playstyles are never going to get it, like a rubics cube, some people it just never clicks how that is supposed to work, you can explain it forever, some people can complete it in 10 seconds, some people will never ever complete no matter how many times you explain it.
So what do you say to the people with builds or playstyles that this isnt clicking for?
Drop mission?
Drop game?
or get the mission lowered to a more doable level?
Get team is sometimes a viable sometimes not... -
Should also be pretty obvious who took the well also..
-
So your saying an average skilled player who cant complete this should leave the game because there is no future for them with the harder content?
-
Most likely at some point it will be easier to nerf the mission than listen to everyone whine that their favorite powerset cant solo EB's
Since this is the new balance point. -
But its not hard.... not for every build, for my plant/psi/lev the entirety of the tactics was pull EB, hit waterspout.. Profit...
Thats it..
This isnt hard, this isnt tactics, no challenge....
For my Ta/arch/mu nothing I could do could stop him from holding me... he held me right through break frees, and 2 hit me right through purples.... he was alone, pulled and still insta killed me.
Again no amount of tactics other than finding a way to jam him up on scenery and shooting him till he died would have worked.
This is the definition of bad balance.... impossibly hard on one character, stupidly easy on another.
And yes, if your AT or powerset has trouble with EB's please point to this thread that EB's solo is the new balance point for powersets. -
Yeah AR is fine, its the second tier of blaster primaries, top tier is Archery, Fire, ice then second tier AR, Rad, Psy and Sonic, then you get into third tier, Dp, Elec, EB.
Fire and Archery so outdamage any other set its not even funny, Fireball is the highest damage per activation in the game, and both are very aoe heavy and level 50 is all about the aoe now.
Let me put it this way, ever go into best buy and see the signs good, better, best.... well here it is
Good DP
Better AR
Best Arch
They all fill about the same function, but arch outdoes the other two.
Dev however is a pile of crud that has never been buffed, and nerfed over and over and over... -
Okie lets run with that.
Then the new balance point is every powerset needs to be able to solo an EB.
This seems a little odd considering the devs have said in the past, not all powersets are intended to be able to solo bosses, which is why bosses can be disabled for solo, but now we are jumping all the all the way to the new balance point being EB.
Wonderful..... time to start wining about powerset imbalances, real or perceived. -
Quote:By impossibly hard, you mean a little more difficult than usual, yes?
Because so far there has not been a single powerset commented on here (or in the beta version of this thread) that was not able to solo this mission.
Im sure for people who have been playing for the entire life of the game have planned every slot, have spreadsheets pasted to their posterior this is still easy on bad powersets.
For normal people its still hard as proven by go look at any BC in RWZ at the amount of complaints about the mission. -
Quote:Very bad idea...My solution and suggestion to the devs is simple then!
MAKE SURE THIS MISSION CANNOT BE DROPPED!
Incarnate should be hard to become. I actually asked one friend and we duo-ed it on +1/x3 with AV's.
Also... we where both villain... we pulled two shivan's. And we both activated Demonic Aura. And then aggroed both AV's whahahahahahaaha... And won!
but its not hard.....
Its hard for some builds only, the whine you would see would eclipse everythign other than ED whine. -
Quote:He is supervulnerable to knockdown, my plant psi made him a butt scooting joke with carrion creepers and waterspout.I actually bum rush the the honeree and mobs with my plant/psi and had no issues.........
Its either stupidly easy or impossibly hard depending on powerset layout..
That is the definition of bad game design. -
Quote:Actually thats really a non issue..Wait a while. I played this on x5 team setting, and I was clearing spawns as I went. The ambushes came to me while I was doing that. Now, while that was a challenge on its own, it meant that I unwittingly had dealt with all the ambushes before I even got to the EBs.
This probably isn't a good thread to mention that some people have already soloed the AVs in this mission, eh?
Because of the power-set interactions if you can take advantage of his weaknesses he is stupidly easy, basically he is set to have almost no immob or KB resistance.
This is why waterspout made this a joke, he was in a constant state of knockup, no matter how many more hp he had he was completely and utterly ineffective at this point.
Now if you are vulnerable to his weakness, not having mez protection, he shoots right through acro and breakfrees for whatever reason to hold you anyway, he is darn near impossible.
The problem is the mission is poorly balanced, not too hard or too easy. -
Quote:Because, if you read the story line, you're suppossed to be this really great hero (and I'd guess villain for villains).
Yeah, I know that doesn't mean much, especially when Statesman says "You're powerful enough, you handled Lord Recluse" and part of you is thinking "Yeah, with seven other people"
So my point is...get a big team of squishies then. Team of 8 buff/debuffers tears things apart.
You being level 50, ought to know that.
but the combination of low villian population and general player impatience made this impossible.
Yes 8 defenders can and will kill anything. Hell if I ever got to 5 or so I would have went. I would have even tried with 4.
But as soon as I got 3 or 4 players one or two would get bored and go drop it.. then I was back at step one, after a point I said the heck with this and went and dropped.
They really need to allow this cross faction to allow well... teams... -
They did recomend teaming, but at the time there were very few villians on, to the point where I never got over 3 or 4 people because as soon as I got about 3 someone would run off to just drop it and keep moving.
Hero teams were going all the time to complete it quickly.
THe population imbalance and that you cant cross faction this negated teaming as a recomendation for villians.
So the recomendation was dropping.
As I said, I tried it later on my dom..... water spout made the mission a joke... literally.. seeing honoree scoot around on his posterior trying to stand up was funny as heck. -
So exactly what did I say that is so horrible as to completly offend your senses?
The mission is bad because it is too hard for many builds or playstyles, that the recomended advice is just drop the mission.
That dropping the mission might not have been the devs intention in writing it.
That Villian teaming is still problematic on many servers because of low population.
Is any of that so awful?
Now I did think that I had said in the original post that I already had dropped the mission, but I didnt... my bad on that one. Now I also did come back later and say the mission was stupidly easy on my dominator because water spout completly and utterly nullifies the EB's so its just pull and watch them scoot around on their rump. -
well I decided to try it on my dom... it was so easy it wasnt funny, all I did was pull and drop a water spout on honoree and laugh as he scooted around on his rump trying to stand up.
This seems to be completly a powerset issue.
Villian teaming is still a problem though. -
Quote:I didnt come for advice, I came here to make a statement that I thought the mission was bad, and what was the point of making a solo mission so difficult players reaction was in general to drop it.It's true; when you came here for advice you got "try this" and said "no I dropped it."
Which I thought I said in the initial post but I actually didnt.
I also think that the mission being faction locked in RWZ doesnt make sense considering how bad villianside teaming is. WHich is a LONG standing problem. -
Actually I did read the strategies but didnt pay too much attention because I thought I would be getting help from a freinds brute, kinda surprised the heck out of me when I couldnt bring them into a mission in RWZ.
Probably got more frustrated by that than anything else..
The Villian imbalance has been a LONG time problem Ive been complaining about.
There really is no reason why Sister pysche should award twice the merits of LRSF. -
Quote:Actually it hasnt, its been proven some people can do it, not all.Has nothing to do with being leet, as again has been proven MULTIPLE times.
You can however drop it. Nothing wrong with that.
I can give just as much anecdotal evidence by counting the amount of people in globals, and bc saying they cant do it.
All that has been proven is a few very dedicated players who have researched everything till their brains leek out have managed to do it with some rather weak builds.
Wait till tonight and lets see how many more complaint threads show up. -

Quote:Im sure you are soooooooooooo Leet that this might be true. The only thing I'd agree on is that it needs to be cross faction.
Everything else you're talking about, you're wrong about. As has been proven multiple times with the weakest of characters SOLO with just SOs.
But in BC there were tons of people having trouble with the mission.
Honestly im just going to drop it on all my characters, its just not worth the hassle if your not a melee. -
Quote:No all the other missions are actually fairly easy, the guardian is just a pounder he hits hard but you can kite him.An endgame mission where you are on the path to gain godly power? Yeah, I sure hope they are all difficult missions.
I, personally, haven't played any of the I19 content but I really do hope that everything Incarnate related is VERY challenging. This is what I've been wanting for a long time. -
Quote:Im finnished now, I already dropped it.And I'll ask you again, as you keep avoiding it: what toon are you using? What's their pri/sec, etc?
YOU are on the forums and I assume you are here cause you want help soloing the mission? Or did you just come here to complain?
Im saying this is bad game design, the teaming situation is doubly exasperated by villian imbalance, no cross faction and people are dropping it all over the place. -
Quote:TA/arch/muDo you mind sharing with us what your Primary/Secondary/APP-PPP was? Also, have you had any problems defeating Holtz?
Never got to holtz couldnt get past Honoree, went in first time with 2 medium purple and 1 medium break free, got a few hits off on him then got held and 2 shotted.
Second two times when I had to shift down to smalls it got worse even though I used more insp.
At this point tried to team, got a heroic brute and couldnt get in, tried again got squishie teamates but never got past 4 people because people kept running off to drop it and start incarnate.
Then I got frustrated and dropped also since this is what was being said on BC. -
Quote:Okie so if you played the game forever, read forums and make perfect builds and have perfect inspiration load its soloable. That's the only thing I'll agree with. It really should be a cross faction arc.
It's not at all bad game design, as that mission has to be shown to be soloable by the weakest of characters. Evidence after evidence in both closed and open beta has shown that you don't know what you're talking about.
But if you dont and the advice you get is get a team, but there are no teams villianside and the other advice is oh well if you cant get a team just drop it.
You can say this is a player problem, but there wouldnt be a ton of complaints if there wasnt some problem with the mission and some problem with villianside teaming
Though two seperate issues, they are problems.
