Think again. Comic shops need to make a profit to stay in business, so they won't pay anything close to guide prices for old books. The only way to get close to guide prices for old books is to find a collector who needs what you have for their collection, and as the OP has already noticed, eBay has made it so easy for collectors to find old issues that they need, even they rarely have to shell out "Guide" prices to fill in their collections.
Unless you are talking older (pre-70s) key issues or incredibly rare stuff, or you bought the books for cover price, it is not very easy to make money selling old comics.

I never once said he'd get guide prices, did you actually read my post? I said he might get some money for the books, I never said anything about guide prices. He's got some collectible books, it's worth asking around.
I think implying that he not to talk to local shops is a terrible idea. How better to learn how to unload his unwanted comics unless he talks to an expert? A good comic shop owner will have some suggestions at the very least. He may even know a customer that collects those very books and can get the two in contact. -
You can always call around to some local comic shops when you get back home and see if anyone is buying. You might make some money on them, even if it's not quite as much as you hoped.

True mint is extremely rare, but a comic can still fetch a fair price even if it's not near mint....or Near Mint.
Of course, you will need someone interested in taking them off your hands to make a profit. Collectibles are only worth what someone is willing to pay. The guides, I think, collect an average number for what a certain book is selling for, it's not a guarantee of what a book is worth exactly, but more of a, well, guide.
If you think you know someone that will be interested in buying them, then go for it. Otherwise I'd look on ebay for ideas on if those types of books are in any kind of demand. -
I approve of this revelation and would like to sign up for your newsletter.

The pack is cheaper versus "buying another month plus the perk pack" - a month = 15, the perk pack = 10, 15+10=25. Mac pack = a month and perks. The mac pack = 20.

Ok, yeah, that does make sense.
So, math + Shocwave = Lame. This is a theory that has been tested to be true on more than one occasion. -

Let me make sure I've got this right.
<ul type="square">[*] I don't have a Mac.[*] I can purchase the Mac code for $19.99 now, and get the in game items (Valkyrie costumes and Mission teleporter) and 1 Months worth of game time.[*] Or I can wait 2-3 months, pay $9.99 for the same in game items.[/list]
Why would anyone who wants these in game items wait? Unless I am missing something, purchasing the Mac code would be cheaper.

It's funny, I've been sitting here trying to figure this out myself.
If one month of game time = $15
One month of game time + Mac Perks = $20
Waiting 2 months and buying perks= $10
How is spending an extra $10 cheaper? Sure the perks are only $5 but you are still paying for a month, it's not free if it's included in the purchase price. It just depends on how you look at it I guess.
Since my game time is paid for the year (or will be in the next billing cycle) then buying another month isn't that attractive to me, personally. I'd rather just wait.
Edit: Woah, a 2 hour recharge? I wasn't expecting an "easy button" but that's much less exciting. -
Not on the boards, but go check out the Paragon Wiki, they have a list of all temps and where to get them.

Hello, I, am Bill S. Preston, esquire! ...and this, is Ted "Theodore" Logan....
and we are...
WYLD STALYNS!! -
One recent Police Band mission was to rescue Dr. Milo, the scientist that works for the local tv station. His manager George was worried about him.
This is, of course, a reference to the classic cult Weird Al movie, UHF! One of my favorites!
When you get to the mobs holding Milo they are asking him about the "Wheel of Fish" and when you rescure Milo he says "My work here is done."
Every time I see this mission I HAVE to take it. -
I was able to get all 3 badges on two seperate characters yesterday thanks to all the tips!
I used mainly sprint, the Zero-G pack, holding forward, strafing a bit and steering with the mouse to finally get the gold. When I realized my villain didn't have the Zero-G, I attempted it with Intertial Reduction and was able to get them with him in just a handful of tries!
Thanks guys! -
If I find an Action Comics #1 someplace but the only way to get it is to deep fry 100 live puppies every day for a month, I'm going to take a pass. But if I have a chance to earn that comic in 10 years by doing nothing more than what I'm doing now...well, I'll take the choice where I won't feel as though I spent alot of time doing something I hated.
The offer might not still be available in 10 years, but I won't at least have spend alot of time making myself miserable.
On the other hand, I do feel the badges encourage AFK farming. I can't offer any creative solutions, so perhaps lowering the requirements might be the best answer. But I have to tell you, earning a few billion anything sure seems epic to me!
I will say that I think it's very unfair that Villains have 2 epic bages required for accolades. That just seems like a poor decision on someone's part.
*edit*I upped the years to earn by a few -
What I did was to use the free account I had laying around from buying CoV. My girlfriend already had CoH installed on her computer, so she just logged in with the free trial account, got invited, then invited all my alts. The only downside is once the trial account expires, you can't add any more alts. But it was the safest way to get my alts into my group and make use of the free trial that was jus sitting there

XquietusX is right, Cobra comes from the Snake Charmer exploration badge in Mercy.
I've got it on all my villains since there is a snake mission that takes you down that hole, which I think is supposed to be the main entrance...I could be wrong about that bit though. -
Wow, great guide! That answered many questions I had and helpled the loose ends fall together nicely. Well done and well written!
