Thanks I'm actually dying to write the next one, but Mr Quilty is writing an Interlude about Devidose looking for Shimmery, so I'm waiting for that

My writing will continue pretty much immediately in a new story - would you guys prefer it in Creative or Roleplaying?

Shimmery sent a bolt of Ice into the Troll's beady eyes, and used the second it gave her to scramble backwards.

Devidose threw the rest of his web grenades in a tangle around Atta's legs and tossed a blazing bolt of fire at the leader of the Trolls.

The guard pulled back his enormous green fist and swung it at Shimmery, knocking her to the ground once more.

Atta flexed his muscles and effortlessly broke free of the six web grenades as Devi's jaw dropped incredolously.

The guard laughed menacingly and raised a huge boulder above Shimmery, as Atta pushed Devidose over as carelessly as he would a domino. He snarled something and raised his fist high into the air, as a bolt of Ice hit him in the back. Distracted, he turned around dumbly to see where it had came from. "EMBERS TO INFERNO!!!" Devi roared, and the Troll guard sent the boulder plunging into Shimmery's chest.

Devidose panted, trying to regain his breath.

Atta lay slumped on the ground, unconscious, with the flames from the inferno still flickering. Devidose turned to see the Guard bashing the boulder into Shimmery's chest with all his might.

"NO!!" He sent an arc of flame into the Troll and he fell limply to the ground.

He ran over, to see Shimmery lying there, covered in blood and struggling the breathe. "Devi..." She reached out her hand. "I'm sorry..."

And her body teleported away...

Atta lay slumped in his throne atop a mountain of scrap, his neon 'Happy Hour' sign sending a nervous flicker of unnatural light across the dark cave. The charred body of a Gardvord landed at his feet. The two guards at his side looked up to see Devi silhouetted in the entrance.

"Morning Atta, How are you?" He said sarcastically. "Love what you've done to the place."

Atta grunted incomprehensibly at his guards, and motioned to Devi with a jerk of his fist. They began walking slowly down the mountain of garbage, clenching their fists. They were hungry for a fight. Atta watched from his throne with a smug grin as they grew closer.

Devidose folded his arms in defiance, and, on cue, Shimmery teleported silently from the shadows to the back of Atta's cave.

The first guard reached him, and pounded his chest with a snarl. Devi smiled. "Well it's lovely to meet you too!" He threw a ball of fire between the two trolls and the explosion rippled and echoed across the cave. The first troll slumped to the ground, and the second raised a charred eyebrow before he fell dumbly at his side.

Atta flashed him a surprised smile and snarled something at Devi. Their eyes met menacingly as a slow smile spread across Devidose's face.

Atta began his descent down the pathetic heap of garbage just as a terrified shriek rang out across the cave.

Devi turned to see a dozen trolls chasing Shimmery across the dirt, led by another of Atta's guards. She quickly jumped upto the top of Atta's throne and sent a storm of Ice raining down upon the trolls. They began to drop to the floor, but the guard was still standing there smirking, unaffected.

"You think a little hail is going to hurt me?" He snarled.

As she tried to back away, she tripped over a bent piece of scrap metal and went sprawling onto her back, just as Atta shoved Devi effortlessly out of his way in his attempt to escape from the caves.

"Shim!!" Devi yelled.

"Get Atta."

A web grenade sprung up around Atta's legs, and Shimmery's eyes widened in terror as the Troll guard stood over her.

Okay - There will be two more parts of Atta, and then I'll be moving on to another story (I haven't quite confirmed a title yet)

It will continue on from this; but it won't be about Atta.

no, in RL we're that height, Devi is 6' 6", the standard height for my male toons, altho given the alts i have being one or another form OF Devi, they kinda have to be the same height

Shimmery sidestepped carefully around the turn of the cave, the details of Devi's plan still spinning in her head.

There were no characteristic sounds of Trolls in the distance. No pounding of fists, no rasping grunts birthed by another neanderthal fight for superiority.

"Only the guards will be here." Devi said as he strode past her. His voice seemed to echo back from every crevice of the pitch black network of tunnels surrounding them.

"Shouldn't we be quiet?" Shimmery whispered cautiously. "I can't see more than two feet in front of me..."

Devi set his arm alight and continued walking forward. "Better?" He laughed. "And don't worry, I told you, Julius told Nash - all the Trolls are out beating up every member of the Family they see until they get their hands on some Su-" A boulder hit Devi squarely in the chest and sent him flying to the ground with a thud. Shim froze the two trolls in their tracks as Devi leapt back to his feet.

The frozen Gardvords stared back blankly for less than a second, before Devidose incinerated them in a tower of flame and a shower of sparks. Their charred bodies fell limply to the ground.

Her eyes widened. "Are they..?"

"No" Devi heaved one of the bodies onto his shoulder. "Let's go. Oh, and be quiet."

"More powerful than me." He stared at the ground.

"Then... why did he only send you? And why did he ask for me? I don't even have the clearance to go to Striga Isle!"

"He didn't ask for you." Devidose replied bluntly. "And he just sent me, because if this got out, the Paragon Times would have a field day. Imagine how it would look. Overlooking the fact he escapes from the Ziggursky Penitentiary near-constantly, the Trolls Task Force are knowingly sending out Security Level 14s to put him away as some sort of publicity stunt or morale booster, even though they know fine well how dangeous he can be. And if this got out, imagine what it'd do to the reputation of the Police Force, if the extent of this drug trafficking was uncovered. Nash asked me because he trusts me, and he wants this kept under wraps."

"But he didn't ask for m-"

"He didn't ask for you. But I did. It's all part of my plan..."

"Firstly, let's get one thing straight. The Trolls do not control the flow of drugs through Paragon City. More importantly, they don't control the flow of Superadine through Paragon City."

Shimmery looked at him, confused.

"Okay, let me put this simply. You know how the Trolls traffic drugs to the Skulls?"

She nodded.

"Well... They aren't the top of the tree..." He sighed wearily. "The Family smuggle the drugs in, ultimately through Independence Port, possibly through Striga Isle along the way. We aren't entirely sure. To put it bluntly, the Family aren't a simple street gang - they're the mafia. They don't want to waste time selling drugs on street corners. Which is why they traffic the drugs to the Trolls..."

Shimmery interrupted him. "But I still don't see what this has to do wi..." She stopped as she saw Devi glaring at her.

"I was getting to that."

She sat down in the dirt and crossed her legs.

"Like most of the Trolls, Atta is addicted to Superadine. But..." He paused. "since the Family stepped up operations in the Rogue Isles, they've had bigger fish to fry. The Trolls are out of 'Dine."

Shimmery looked at him, puzzled.

"I assume you've been drunk before, yes?" She blushed as she thought back to the last party in the Precision Rangers base. "Well, to understand this, remember that alcohol is just another drug. When you've had a little - you get tipsy, more confident, you access your true potential because you believe in yourself. But when you get drunk... well... I'm sure you can remember the party..." Devidose snickered. "Basically, Atta's been constantly wasted; but now he's beginning to sober up. He'll reach tipsy level just as some nice little level 14s come in to put him back in the Zig."

I Love 'And Now For Something Completely Different' - but i've not seen any other Monty Python feature-lengths. Basically because I love the sketches but I heard the films were a [censored] amalgamation of the sketches.
