You have to go into the use serial code section of the manage your account (online not in game) -
one small grumble about this set (now that I have access to it), the fact that you cannot change your toons hair color seperately (dunno if hats have always bee like that since I have never used them before) or perhaps it is a glitch with this set?
-
Figured it out...I had forgotten that you have to go into the "apply a serial code" window and select the thing.
Anyone else notice that the new nc soft site is moving slow? Might be on my end as it is rainy here and that tends to hamper things.... -

So how long is it supposed to take before the SB 2 goodies show up after you purchase them?
-
well you can go in and download the update however you cant get in and play......come out and play! (keep 'em seperated!!!!)

Having gone and read up on when the issues were released I realized that the post I placed about the last issue bing released on a friday was incorrect (with the help of the kind folks on here of course), I saw that the releases drop Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday......
The whole issue about wanting multiple free respecs is this, how many of us have their toons set up for secondary builds? I have my main toon set up for a secondary build however I rarely switch over to it. So I think it is more than fair for them to be giving one respec. Just remember they dont have to give any at all. -

And thus, on "Respec Day," I find a quiet building-top in Atlas Park and go to work.
[newb question] What all can you change with a respec, anyhow? [/newb question]
[/ QUOTE ]
Considering the standing room only in the AP AECorp building on Test, I moved every single character (that wasn't level 1 or 2) out of Atlas Park, just to avoid the moshpit and lag fest.

and even if you are level 1 or 2 you can move your toon out of Atlas Park and move them to Galaxy City...... -
Here is something to bounce around your head...wasnt issue 13 released on a friday?

check this out for MA as well....(might to scroll down a little bit, the article is under the Loading....Daily section.)
(edit) It is nice to see that NC Soft has lifted its cone of silence about some of the details for this game. -
The whole business with influence/merits and now MA tickets I think im starting to understand......
influence you get for defeating anything (within your level range naturally)
merits, you only get these for completing story arcs and taking out archvillains/monsters and i think story arc bosses (I will have to do more story arcs to get this straight)
(I forgot about these) Vanguard merits for taking out Rikti and running missions in the RWZ
MA tickets - this I think is being done to prevent confusion from merits and so that you know how many tickets you have.....
my thinking may be a little off (or way off), I believe that the devs are trying to award the players for having either followed story arcs (awarding of merits and influence), straight up influence for having run radio missions, for running story arcs involving the Rikti you get vanguard merits/merits and influence (with running what is basicaly the radio missions you dont necessarily get the regular merits although you will still get vanguard merits and influence. Now with Mission Architect you will get "tickets" (from what i read you will also get influence too, although I am not sure about merits).
To me it is a way to keep the different (I dont know if this is the right terminology) "games within the game" unique(?), you get different rewards/awards. It makes a certain amount of sense.
Granted what I have just said could confuse the hell out of most (if not all) of you, I think the devs know what I mean.... -
[/ QUOTE ]People reset missions because once a normal contact mission is completed, you can never get it again. With the MA, there's no reason not to complete the missions. Farm your way through the arc and then start it all over again, if farming is what you want to do. Never worry about "don't click that glowy" again!

your forgetting Ouroboros (acid) flashbacks..... -
Wow from what I have just read, it gives me hope that I can play my lv 50's for a good long while now...

So what a bunch of people want with issue 14 is to have the ability to create a map and farm non stop....although honestly it would be easier for people to cut and paste the badges that they wanted? Would that solve your problem? Why even bother to have the other maps? Why bother to have the other in game content? If those that farm all they want is the badges and accolades just create an instanced mission where everything is level 1 and you are level 50....Why bother with this issue then? I believe it is going to cause more annoyance than what it will be worth.
Or better yet perhaps the Devs should set up the game to allow everyone to buy the badges that they want with influence. -
Hmmm so lets see (for example) setting a mission up that only has rikti monkeys in it to get the Zookeeper badge isnt an exploit? Besides are there not maps that can essentially be "farmed" already? The argument here is defeat badges, you have stated that you have run the game content "ad nauseum" does that also mean that you have gotten the vast majority of the defeat badges too?
Who's to say how the devs will have the MA setup? At this point it is all speculation and assumptions. -

Ok Devs, can we get some sort of reasoning on why you are not allowing mobs to give badge credit in MA missions beyond, "Because we said so"?
Srsly.
It would be a perfect opportunity to legitimize certain badges, such as Hordelings/Hellfrosts/etc for Heroes, and Outcasts/Trolls/etc for Villains. And I believe there was a comment by Positron about the Cabal defeat badge for Villains (people defeating the summoned Amy pet getting the bar to show up) and how it would be disabled till something could "legitimize" earning it beyond farming that single pet.

Well you have to remember these are the same Devs who just a few weeks ago tried to have the Reformed badge made unearnable by heroes via a stealth change until people had to 'respectfully suggest' that doing so would be an unreasonable bit of revisionism on their part. Fortunately the Devs agreed and "unchanged" their thoughts on that matter. Clearly the Devs' vision of badge earning in this game has been "colorful" to say the least.
While I agree that the MA could make a few currently annoying badges easier to get it would also potentially make many other badges incredibly trivial to get. We all know that the instant the Devs ever allowed the MA missions to let us to get any defeat badge we wanted there'd be a whole slew of simple "shooting fish in a barrel" styled one-shot missions that would let anyone farm those badges in minutes.
Basically it'd be nice if there was an easier way to get the few badges you mentioned. But in order to make the rest of them not become a complete joke I have to reluctantly agree with the Devs' decision not allow MA missions to grant defeat badges. *shrugs*
[/ QUOTE ]
And I have to say, in the words of Garfield,
"Big fat hairy, DEAL".
So what if some become "trivially easy" to get. Unless the MA allows for the placement of individual mob types, i.e. "This is a lt, this is a minion, this is an underling", there is no real difference between farming a MA mission and street-sweeping cherry picking mob requirements.
And unless I've missed a memo, that kind of mob placement isn't going to be possible.
Edit - At level 50, getting a Troll boss badge, or a Pumicite badge for a Hero, or getting a Goldbricker badge or a Hordeling badge for a Villain is already "trivially easy". Making an artificial distinction that somehow the MA "trivially easy" is different than aforementioned "trivially easy" is just wishful thinking.
[/ QUOTE ]
As I have been told by a player that has played since beta, the Devs frown upon "farming" and that is why the MA more than likely will not count towards defeat badges. As was stated it would make most (well all) defeat badges trivial, the big fat hariy deal has nothing to do with it. It makes sense, because Devs (IMO) know their base and they know that a great many of us will exploit (or "break" the game if you will which goes against the EULA) the MA to get the defeat badges.
Does that answer your question, as to why MA more than likely will never be opened up to allow for defeat badges to be earned? Besides what would the point of doing the actual game content if all you did was MA missions??? That would literally be the end of the game. -
Storage for Inf (though would it be degenerate since the character limit on Inf is so insanely high?)
I would like to see this as well and also have base upkeep come out of that as well instead of having to go and visit someone to make a payment. -

I'd like to get the two "normally villains-only" badges - Weed Whacker, and Coldblooded for my blueside badge toon. Do we know if these will still be available to heroes through the co-op missions, or will they have gone the way of that Longbow defeats badge that heroes can no longer earn?
I don't want to waste my time running these missions multiple times only to not get the badges. I already have all the other Spring Fling badges on that toon.

Actualy the Reformed badge will be reinstated when i14 comes out, so sez Posi -

one and only for now..... -
positron thank you for clearing this up. Just one question though, those of us that have the necessary "defeats" will not be able to obtain the Reformed badge until issue 14 launches? I ask because I got to the needed amount before this was removed.

About the timer on the Mission Door Transporter......all I have to say is this, if you are a member of a SG that has all the SG Beacons and the teleporters to go with them all you have to do is get to a base portal door. Also at level 25 you should have the Ouroboros Portal (if you dont its your own fault because all you have to go is go through the portal at 25 and then to where the Exploration Badge in Ouroboros is to keep the portal permanently (I forget if that has changed). Also you can go through Pocket D (provided you have the VIP pass) which typically the Ouro and D portals typically recharge during your current mission. However if you are able to get to your SG base fairly quickly then you should be able to TP anywhere except directly into the PvP Zones.
I get that the Mission Door teleporter takes too long to recharge, however what the heck would the point be of having the city in a game entitled CITY of Heroes when you could just teleport to the mission door constantly?
On a side note though I think that Wentworths should be converted to an instanced location to end the friggin lag everytime you happen to go by one (Talos Island is the Worst! with WW, train station and the base portal all being located in that proximity is just nuts). The reason I say this is the last few days everytime I go into a WW and attempt to access it (doesnt matter where or when during "peak" time) I get lost connection to Map Server, for which I get booted from the game and I have to log back in and attempt it again in the hopes I dont get booted...yet again! -
Here is what I have "collected" so far from my toons.....
