so is he like a lycanthrope or something?

anyway, designing is my favorite part of this game, and i was sort of playing with ideas for Volt Sentinel (hope you dont mind!). It's a Loom design (that's my "label" for the costume contests I enter, and also for an in-game character who is sort of my avatar for the label - i feel very gay, typing all that out!). Anyway, I went with a 4-color scheme, and here you are.. just as sort of a suggestion.

I want to be sure to say that I like your stuff! I just got inspired because Volt is a pretty iconic character.

    cough! so here :

    WOW! that costume is amazing

and nah Volts not lycan...just a mutant...eventually I am gonna wrtie a bunch of short stories (if I can find the time) and each costume is gonna be something that happened to him (like I mentioned the zombie virus, or the temporary lycan and vampires states)

also thanks for Iconic comment...I had classic marvel in mind when I designed him

    [/ QUOTE ]

lol thanks! and good luck with the short stories

A kid who got a prosthesis that can shoot electricity; Goldenarm .

Note the white on the sneakers; that came with them and I couldn't recolor that. He's also shooting electricity from his wrong arm! GAAAAAHHH!!!!

lol i still like it! memorable gimmick!

Yeah, honestly, I thought they were all great costumes, and they could all be leaders in their own way.

I was also thinking maybe you don't need an active leader, but a leader like Professor Xavier. I mean, I'm not sure if there is a designated leader of the X-Men other than him, even though he's not usually in any battles.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeh, this is what I'm thinking now, I think it's a great idea
  6. [ QUOTE ]
based on just looks? none of them look like a leader.

Ghostly looks like the brute force of the team, Jungle looks like the tactician/ops, Jolly looks like the old guy, Gamma looks like the support that tends to hang in the back and at times jumps into the limelight in critical moments. Snow looks like spunky sidekicy, Psy looks like the speedster, Star resembles the air/ranger swoop in with the devastating fire bombs. and plasma seems fit to stand ground in the middle and be the anchor. That's just my impressions based on looks and names alone though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You know, you (and Gata) make a really good point! I think that's what's been bothering me, none of them stands out as a leader, exactly. Ghostly is too dark, Shade is too lethal, Compatriot is too supportive, Gaia is too collegiate, Snowbologram is too adolescent, Psywhire is too edgy, Star Pyre is too beverly hills, Plasma Canon is too circus. So, I decided that since all these heroes came from a costume contest, I needed to make the Designer of these costumes the team leader! And he's a peacebringer, since that's the only archetype i hadnt used yet

So, here, with a preliminary design and name, is Deuce Loom! a truly ancient peacebringer who no longer has the stomach for conflict, but who finds purpose through making heroes look their best

    http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j.../DeuceLoom.jpg

p.s. thanks dd, im glad you like them

Edit: Think I like Daedalus Loom more... or maybe just Loom
  7. So that's 2 Plasma Cannon,3 Star Pyre, 4 Gamma Gaia... which is interesting, because I'd never really thought of her That Way Thanks for taking the time you guys!
  8. heya, I like most of these I agree with EnergyDrink that using only 2 colors can make it hard to create a hero that's unique, and that's particularly true of lightning-based heroes because there arent a lot of electricity options to choose from. Having said that, after browsing through all your designs i feel like i have a sense of your character, and for some reaosn the lightning bolt on the trenchcoat really works for me! And I think the blue and white combo should always stand out for your character. So, let's say you add another shade of blue? or maybe put some black in?

anyway, whatever, thanks for posting these, i like seeign what other folks ome up with

  9. Hullo!

So, both Chisoku and Nazghul1 have been running these pallet-based costume contests, and I've been focusing on Golden Age costumes, all stylistically linked together, because I have been using the contests to build a Supers team. Anyway, I finally reached the eight-person mark, and here you are:
    http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j...PalletTeam.jpg

Now, comments and criticisms are of course welcome, but if you dont mind, I'd like a bit of help. I'd love you to tell me which of these designs you like the most - the winner will be my team leader.

    Preciate it!

  10. I like her, but i didnt see any white in the pallet...
  11. Lol thanks! but i think I like this guy better:
    Plasma Cannon!:
    http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j...asmaCannon.jpg

This guy used to be one of those guys you shoot from a cannon at the circus, and he also makes fireworks as a hobby.

Incidentally, I want this to be my entry, I think I've worked on it long enough (Captain Fireworks was just a quick holiday gimmick) And also, that makes eight heroes I've made in this golden age-ish genre I've been focusing on - a full team! I havent named it yet, but I'll be posting the full collection for comments and voting (if you dont mind) to see which is the overall favorite - and therefore the team leader

    cheers!
  12. Once again, it's nice to be back
In the spirit of the holiday, I present
    Captain Fireworks!

Of course, it would be cool to have guest judges like Dirtwolf, LJ, TA, DarkJedi, Aerones, Juggy and others. They could pick 1st, and 2nd place and asking nicely for one of them to pick a winner from a group of entries, would be pretty neat. We might not know who till after all the entries were in. If they felt like donating the time for a quick judging that would be very cool. That way, we get a variety of takes and we can't start tailoring to a particular judge's built in likes or dislikes. In short, we'd have to bring our best game every time.

    Just a thought.

    [/ QUOTE ]

not a bad thought, not least of which because you'd be able to compete again!

Would it be more or less fun, if we skipped the critique/winners thing and just jumped straight into another palette?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Less fun, IMO. If there's no winner, it's not a contest, it's a showcase. Not that I expect to win, in fact I would be shocked if I even came close. As an analytical thinker, I know my costuming skillz are not on par with some of the more creative members, and so I'm as interested in critique and/or pointers as anything else.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree I like hearing what you have to say Naz, and I like that someone's picked as a winner. Otherwise we could be posting in "your best costumes here!" and be done.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
I can see it being a tough one. I didn't get a chance to try it myself, though. I'm just trying to keep the palette's from being the same every week. Plus, if I went with personal preference, everything would be on the cooler side with lots of blues and purples.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeh it was fun - the harder the better I say, I like having to think about it a bit!
  19. Here's my entry - Psywire!, an electricity/psych blaster. The colors seemed very coppery to me, that was the inspiration

    http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j...is/Psywire.jpg
  20. [ QUOTE ]

Snowbologram – Great name! Even though it’s a smash-up of two words, it comes out sounding strangely like a real word. The chest emblem goes a long way to add to the illusion aspect of the character, as does the line patterns on the gloves and boots. Did you try using none of the belts? I would think that would add to the otherwise sleek appearance.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I did almost go with no belt actually, but I ended up needing it to balance out the border on the neck - the costume was "weighted" too high without it. In my imagination though the belt is part of the thin-stripe pattern on the rest of the body instead of being an actual belt... sort of like Ghostly Skull.
  21. gratz to the winners! and yeh, i like this new pallet!
  22. welp, I say that if this contest were for an actual Prize then we should all play with the same tools - but since it's not, I'm cool with seeing what people come up with using the tools available to them. Whatever keeps it fun, you know!

Please remove Ice Jester and replace with my current entry:

    The Cryonicist

    Thanks!

she looks good! but i havent seen the body pattern before - is this one of the I12 designs?
