    Help- please?

I just wanted to say thank you- to all the amazing people that stepped up, and have continued to come out of the woodwork and help with this project..

You guys really are an amazing community, and I am very thankful to be a part of it!

  3. It's not you, it's the forums, they've been having trouble taking in data all day... don't worry- I've gotten the same error about eleventy billion times today, and I finally got it to work.

    Help- please?

Cross posted from Virtue Board- because I'm told most of the best can be found here...

So- I have this artwork that I really really really really really wanted done... and I thought I had someone who could/would do it.. but they've sort of gotten busy with something... and now they can't.. at least for a while.. And I'm rather new to the entire Artwork scene in CoH... sooooooo...

If you are interested, if you are capable, if you are willing... reply here, or send me a pm... even if you can only direct me to someone who might be...

Compensation is available.. and as always the artist has full say in the way the piece turns out..

    Thanks!
    A very very excited Seppy!

I have a better one, time in the base or hospital doesn't count toward the badge.

    Placate Nerf

Yeah, GI WASN'T NERFED. We just didn't know how it worked. As _Castle_ said, it's been around ever since stealth suppression... which I imagine is a long time ago.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow, I learned something new today.

I may be the only person on Virtue who didn't know how GI worked after the stealth change..

    Where was my memo?!?

Sooo..for giggles, and in the name of science, I have been practicing *Not* one shotting people. I have not used any damage inspirations (Never really did anyway in PvP) and/or no build up (depending on how many hit points they had left to take them down to the proper range).

So in my experiment, I have been hitting people (in hotspots) to the point of leaving them with what I think, (though I dont have exact numbers) will be the percentage of health left after the ont shot changes are made.

I have then been stepping back, to allow them to make use of this second chance they have. Heal, run, chew some inspirations, call for help, write a eulogy- anything.

However- not one single person stayed to engage with me.

hmmm.... I don't PvP a whole lot but I have dabbled in it and unless I'm doing something wrong, certainly possible, it's not always easy to quickly tell what just took 99% of your hp's when your already in an engagement with many targets swirling around. When surrounded by enemies and suddenly near death it makes much more sense to take self preservation actions and flee than attempt to locate and engage. In fact, this poster makes a comment that his / her victim is killed by NPC's some large percentage - makes one wonder if those people were staying in danger to locate their assailant and paid the price.

Well, this does seem a little odd, but given one one could easily put it together that a stalker is lurking around and they are not exactly easy to spot, not re-engaging is probably a little cowardly but also not foolish or anything. Call it discretionary... lol. Perhaps there were some searching around to re-engage, but in trying to sneak up on you to get the drop they couldn't find you and you never saw them.
Not trying to stir up trouble or anything - I like the danger factor presented by stalkers. Not afraid to honestly say either that when I'm looking around for PvP w/ my AR/dev blaster I can't beat them by myself. I'm just not built for it I guess. My solution is not to nerf them though but just to realize that and hunt them down with a team and exterminate with prejudice - you know, good clean fun! I just wanted to present some possible explanations for what you saw from the victim's (er, opponent's) side.

Stalk on you stalkers, stalk on...

I agree, but then- what's the point- of the no one shotting? To give them a chance to run away? I can see that- but then say it, say "I want to be able to run"... don't say "I want a fighting chance".. because there is no fighting going on in these situations.

Granted, it only affects 2 AT's.. BUT - for all the people that were crying "Down with one shots", obviously it's a large chunk of people.

    Great points!
  8. Sooo..for giggles, and in the name of science, I have been practicing *Not* one shotting people. I have not used any damage inspirations (Never really did anyway in PvP) and/or no build up (depending on how many hit points they had left to take them down to the proper range).

    What I've seen is-

A whole lota people standing there dieing to NPC's.

Why? Because it takes ONE hit- from ONE NPC in a location where there are normally 10-30 (Hot spots I am talking about) just waiting to attack them.

A few have managed a green, and did not immediatly fall dead, instead- they managed to run- but moments later were normally overcome by enemy fire power, either NPC or PC.

A few chose to heal with some sort of self heal, and got away.

However- not one single person stayed to engage with me.
In fact- not one single person came BACK to fight.

But I did get a TON of "OMG U GREIFER" tells, and the majority of them, wished I had just killed killed them off.

So- while I could have done so- easily, I chose to let them have this "Chance" to fight back that they wanted-and learned that is translation for- they want the chance to run away (Which I understand- I'm a big meanie).

Maybe in time this will change, people will learn how to better react to only having a sliver of health remaining- and stick around to fight, or at least, get themselves out of harms way.

I won't go out of my way to double shot people when the new system is implimented. Just for a little while, until the problems from it become very clear. I'll let them have their second chances, and let what may come, come.

I don't use AS, so it really doesn't affect my play style, it always takes two shots for me to kill someone, unless I'm taking on more than one PvP'r in a group.

But as a stalker, I am just about tired of being everyones reason for big tears and tantrums. If you beleive everything you hear, we are afterall, only 2 steps away from having been the cause of at least one of the world wars, and quite possibly the reason for cancer, plagues, and puppies who won't potty train.
