Sadly we crapped out with Lord Recluse and the Flyer at the end... so not the best result but fun all the same. I'm going to try and put an LRSF together this week... Thursday is likely.
Again it will be +4 x8 (some people didn't know that, despite me having been quite explicit) and I'll try and run it late. I don't mind running one at midnight GMT / 6pm CST if that helps our NA colleagues. -
Ah ok sounds like I'll be using my Freespec tonight then
Thanks for the input everyone -
I've made myself a TW/Elec Brute and I decided to take Hover. Mostly on a whim and becuase I dont' recall seeing any melee characters with hover, other than our dear departed Statesman.
Conceptually it fits my character, Cylemen, one of the minor Titans, come to Paragon to save it from the Coming Storm - but it does feel very very clunky. I'm not able to rush up to foes and smite them with a smity thing with a big grin and they stay smote. I tend to drift languidly in their general direction and blatt them on the head a bit.
If I were sensibly into min/maxing I'd respec it out but actually there's a certain style to her and taking hover is sufficiently differnt I'd like to keep it, but it's not very efficient as things stand.
So... what're my options and how can I retain hover and make her more efficient. I'd welcome suggestions because this has the potential to be slightly different and I like that. -
Quote:Big apologies again for all the DCs yesterday. The last one was a stinker, and I had to force crash my PC to get control back. By the time it had recovered, I assumed the TF had completed. That, and I was kinda of shattered, but that's my age
It was good fun though, although I'll admit it would have been better if I'd known what those EoE things were actually for before I'd used them
Would definitely be up for something similar, so thanks Riff for organising.
Sorry you never made it back mate. We did try and wait a bit but others were flaking by then so we had to complete
Must admit never thought to ever use an EoE on captured Hami thoughAnyhow see the STF thread tonight.
For future reference I hope to be running a few more of these - but I think given how easy it was I'll be ramping the difficulty up soon -

very cool as always DR
Really enjoyed it... it's getting me excited for I22 -
forum rules prevent me doing a /signed or somesuch but great post!

Statesman will be replaced by a small hamster called Roderick

Quote:I keep seeing this phrase being thrown around, and frankly I have no idea what it means or where it came from.
The game hasn't significantly changed....
What is is this 'modern' myth?
I don't know what game you're playing but things have changed significantly since I started in I6. Inventions, Defiance 2.0, Incarnates, smoothing fo the XP curve, various buffs and modifiers to various ATs & sets... the game is massively different in many ways.
That's not to say those differences are bad, but they have changed as you'd expect. If the game was the same as it launched 8 years ago it would be positively dodo-like.
Blasters have slipped way down the hierarchy these days. I don't think I can ever recall any team looking for a blaster - because they're a waste of a space on a team. A Defender or Scrapper will generally get picked over a blaster because their attributes provide greater benefits to teams.
The glass cannon has always been something of a myth... glass, sure but never really delivering on the promise of the cannon. Some are better than others - an Ice/En blaster still packs a punch but some others less so.
Blasters are getting left behind - badly. Why play something that does high damage when you end up munching carpet half the time when if you play an SoA you can lay down a constant field of fire with a solid attach chain, and are virtually immune to many forms of mez and have good def & resist, for example.
The biggest problem with a blaster as I see it currently is that the damage doesn't compensate for the lack of mitigation. -
Not getting stuff I'm due would be bad because that would be a breach of contract.
Getting it when it's due is fine.
Mountains/Molehills, Teacups/Storms
This is a non-issue. -
Ok I realised last night this would be one of the last chances to do the STF and LRSF in its present form. Therefore gonna try and run one tonight (Monday) from 9pm GMT - if we can get enough support for it.
Like the LGTF and last week's ITF I'll be running it at +4 x8 so if you're interested, sign in below and please make sure you include your global
Cheers
Scarlet aka @Riffster -
Thanks to everyone who took part. Looks like we ended up running a couple of teams so ope everyone enjoyed
Gonna try and do some more stuff like this soon enough. -
VS got a boost to damage and recharge some issues ago. I'm working from memory so cannot remember exact details but it's better than it used to be.
Once summoned it cannot be dismissed, so if you don't want it drawing aggro let it expire first. I have mine 4 slotted with Soulbound Allegiance, so when it's out it works well for me. -
End drain is pretty ineffectual in any PVE encounter that matters, and Elec blast does poor damage. Generally, most critters aren't badly affected by end drain. It's not really an issue for them - they recharge it relatively quickly
The effectiveness of Electric Melee and Electric Control put Electric Blast firmly in the shade. Frankly there's no reason to play an electric blaster other than thematic reasons these days. -
Quote:You're already in... hence one of the "idiots" mereman referred toI thought I had already reserved a spot after last sundays +4/x8 ITF, but to be sure; I'd like to bring Oorlogschaduw, lvl 45 WS. Or if you prefer otherwise, I can also bring Nurse Seven (lvl 50(+3) Demons/Time)
Quote:Hum who should i bring a lvl 50 dark/dark cor, emp/psi def, or a wp/kin tank?
Quote:Got room for a fresh 50 Dark/Ice Tanker, a 48 Psych/PainDom Corruptor, and a 47-48 SonicRes/EBlast defender? Assuming that you lot are Incarnate'd up and willing to show us the ropes, we'd love to come along. -
Thankyou both. That's answered my question - I guess the old grey matter was playing tricks on me.
-
The Teal Serpent?
I was looking for him on Paragon Wiki, but can't find any reference. I thought he'd had some run-ins with Talos but that seems to have been changed (retrofitted?) to Chimera.
Is my memory playing tricks on me, or has there been some retro-shenanigans? -
Excellent chaps! Sounds great. I *think* that's 5 of us for it then

QR: No
To elaborate: In a well known virtual world, there used to be a scheme known as "Camping" where people would park their avatars for hours in a given location hoping to earn money, whilst giving an impression of high traffic on the map. It was a spoof to make others believe there was something happening in that location, but it's net outcome was nothing but trouble. It proved to be a playground for griefers, and accounts were created just to camp, which had the net effect of causing extra lag and strains on the servers.
I don't think any of us want that - apart from the fact that on face value, it would encourage players to break the EULA by parking their character and going AFK -
Oooh Congrats to both War Witch and Second Measure
So the burning question is, who's taking over the Alpha and Omega teams now? -
I must admit I gave up wtih it too.
Personally I just open my salvage and see what I got compared to what I'm offered. If I got one already I get something different on the grounds that if I had what I need already I'd use it.
I like the notion of Waterworks but I'm not sure if it's trying to solve a problem that isn't really there, in a somewhat complex way. -
Anecdotally, this question does seem to be more prevalent very recently.
I've coincidentally had three purples drop in Feb and that was after a very barren period, howver I've been experiencing that only on toons that have high difficulty.
There for I can definitively conclude that I have no clue as to the evidence. -
Quote:I sent a suggestion to Zwill about adding single character slots as a repeatable claim in lieu of losing the annual bonus slot...
... then I hit 7 years and I got my annual slot
actually yo only got 3.5 years sub. But Zwill is that poweful he doubled your life.
Sadly the downside is you're gonna pass away in 1995 aged only 63 -

You have all the VIP benefits? Poor you : P
Yay, thanks for the fail. you miss my point completely. I'm not complaining about having all the VIP benefits. I mean it's not like I've subscribed to the game for nearly six years or anything nor is it like I've spent a lot more money on the game since Freedom came out.
I'm not complaining about that. I'm just saying I got all these points and I've got all the good stuff I've been offered and I spend my tokens... I want something I can use. I bought so many superpacks and stuff I don't need to buy the repeatables - there's not much bonus for me there.
I really like the celestial and fire/ice outfits and I do like the costume options but now I've got all these tokens... I want new shinys!!!! I want them NAO!!!!
