I'm sure you remember this, since you mentioned it the other day, and I'll bet you know where to find it. But, for the record... clicky. This is still one of my favorite pieces I've ever done, I'm actually quite fond of it.

I absolutely love it! I've long wanted to see one of my characters in the Scarf Girl (TM) style, and this definitely does not disappoint. Sartori would be flattered in the extreme by this depiction of him. Thank you so much!

I just hadn't seen it yet. It's currently got 185 faves over at dA though, so lots of other people have. I also wasn't watching NKK before, but I fixed that after seeing this and her Soul Train rendition.

Thank you all for your responses. Based on responses here and elsewhere, I'm going with my original inclination and getting Vue. Thanks again for the feedback.

I'm looking for a program to add landscapes to my set of 3D tools. I've been considerting Vue 6 Esprit, which I feel confident is a great product, and I've heard lots of good things about the Vue rendering engine. But at $200 it's a little outside my budget.

Well, DAZ just put Bryce on sale at 60% off, meaning it can be had for $40, a real bargain. They've also put their content & tutorial bundle on sale, meaning I can get both for around $80 including shipping.

On one hand, I feel more confident that I'd be really happy with the Vue product, primarily due to what I've heard about the Vue rendering engine. On the other hand, I'm a hobbyist, not a pro, and I'm not made of money. So there's a little voice in my head that says that Bryce might well suit my needs without breaking the bank.

So, if anyone out there has had any experience with either product: what would you recommend? Any and all thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Ironically, I find this recently-bumped old thread while I'm browsing the forums as I wait for my Poser render. Heh. Most of the conversation, I just find depressing, since I spend HOURS trying to get Poser to make the picture I have in mind. And I actually think some of it doesn't turn out half bad. Anyway, more power to you 3D Beethovens out there. I'll just have to content myself with an electroic keyboard and a sequencer, as it were.

Oh well. Nothing to see here. These aren't the droids you're looking for. Move along.
