... Some people lacked creativity and couldn't find a way to name themselves with the "United States" part of the name of their country. So ... I can say I am North American ... that still works ... but there is no way for me to simply say that I am part of the Americas (because technically an American could be part of North, Central or South America) because it is too confusing. Then again, maybe I should thank those people because by choosing "American" they took care of alot of potential confusion about the word ... at least now everyone knows what an American is (unless you get technical about it and generate a full out discussion ... hehe)
