Well since it's of me :P

First I think she's a little too muscular. She's a feline not a body builder. She is strong yes but her muscles were made for smooth running and stalking and such. Under the fur she looks very soft indeed.

Also, tiger ears are round, not pointy :P You might want to move the more forward and towards the top of the head a little bit.

And the tail doesn't have a little bushy thingie at the end... keep in mind she is a tiger turned human so she takes on a lot of tiger characteristics. Google image search for tigers and you can see what features I'm talking about.

But that's pretty darn good for a quick sketch without a proper reference!! Just remember, Rowr's power lies in her soft, deceptive feline form, to get you close before she STRIKES! RAAR! :P

Digital inking pretty much follows the same technique, assuming you have a tablet. Just you can be a lot more 'loose' and more confident know that if you mess up the stroke, you just hit 'undo' until you like it

Anyone know of anything good out there? I'm tired of working on something at work, then coming home and looking at it on here. Colors are all washed out and it just looks horrible.

Like for instance, You know when you go to make a post, that little color box below the reply area? It's got Orange and Yellow right next to each other... they look really close to being the same.

Needless to say this also means that all my Orange Rowr pics also take on a somewhat yellowish tint...which sucks. Things look sooo much better on my CRT but I don't use it that often.

So... anyone have anything like that out there?

Best way to do it is to put your head in the mind of the character. Figure out their motivations. What would they wear? Pretend you're conducting a talk show interview of them. What would they say? Why would they wear such and such an object? What kind of look or fashion statement would they want to make? Etc.

Well maybe this will help, or maybe it'll make things worse. Rowr was once an actual real tiger, living in Asia (there are no tigers in Africa darn it!). She got captured by an animal collector, taken back to the states and became a part of his 'exotic animal' collection.

Then the Rikti invaded, and the compound got destroyed by some stray blasts of artillery.... and somehow Rowr got mutated into a humanoid form. She managed to make her way to Atlas Park where she befriended a number of heroes, who took her under their wing to teach her right from wrong, as well as how to talk and about the world.

Yes when Rowr first came around all she could do to communicate was growl and gesture a lot. :P But that got annoying...for me so gradually she started talking.


Anyway that's my take on the whole thing. Not your typical 'catgirl' bio.

Also... I have started working on a digital painting of someone who posted in this thread... but i'm not going to say who or even post a preview (YES I am actually forcing myself to resist temptation to post WIP ) until it's closer to being done :P

But I do have to say... it's coming out pretty nice for a first timer :P
