  1. I'd be happy if it was just more obvious that the DS was active. I've always said the mobs should be invisible and untargetable for the duration of the power. That or some really obvious aura that you just couldn't miss. But for now if they'd just fix so it at least worked like it used too.
  2. EE on a dom is much more like Essense Boost on a Kheld. Both are squishy AT's with access to melee and ranged power sets.

EE has saved my khelds bacon, but I've still died plenty after using it. So I don't see it as overpowered on a dom. However, looking at the precedents of how dom powersets have been put together. It's unlikely we'll see EE. AIM or Build up is far more likely.

I'm thinking Dark/Trick Arrow. You can immobilize your foes, debuff the crap out of them, then nightfall them into oblivion. take a natural origin so you can ignite your tar patch and all should be well with the world. :-)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Umm, ignite the tar patch? And if it's an Oil Slick you want to ignite, I recommend magic or tech origin!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or your handy dandy Nemesis staff. Any energy or fire based power should do the trick. And hmm Dark Blast/TA could have plenty of control potential. Might be comparable to a Mind/TA controller...very interesting indeed. Tenebrous Tentacles + Oil Slick Arrow could be very well a match made in hell.
  4. I highly doubt crossed over toons will get access to a diffrent AT's APP. It doesn't make sense. A controllers APP is balanced for that AT's unique needs. It wouldn't make sense to give that pool to a radically different AT (in this case doms) or vice-versa.

It seems more likely a Dom will still be a dom if he/she crosses over to blue side. Meaning they would keep their powers as is including power pools. I still have my fingers crossed for EE for doms, but my money is on Dominators getting AIM or Build up.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
Drain Psyche is a straight Regen boost, though, while Power Boost requires you to have Aid Self to actually get some use out of it. I think an actual straight self-heal would be quite powerful for a Dominator.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You mean like on a Crab Spider? Not to mention those scaling resists Widows get. I'm just saying theres precedent for a little mold breaking.and a dom with a self-heal/hp boost power isnt that far fetched.

I seem to recall that Marilyn Monroe is reported to have been the equivalent of today's size 12 (shock & horror!).

I think Desdemona looks curvy, strong & athletic.

    [/ QUOTE ]

At 5'7 and 120 pounds, Desdemona is probably between a size 8 and a 10. She'd be about Pamela Anderson's size minus the latter's experimentation with the chest slider.

Monroe would have been a tad shorter and heavier, but otherwise pretty close.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, she doesn't look fat. She just has a chunky face, like she used to have obesity problems.

And there are plenty of women that aren't rail-thin that don't have chunky faces. Desdemona looks like she could have done the truffle-shuffle in her youth.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I find it interesting everyone is obsessed with the new female toons looks and weight. Not very classy. All in all I like the character, I don't think she looks "fat". In fact her proportions look pretty normal. Kudo's to NCSoft designers for making a character with curves and a nice full face. Which may be where the Betty Paige references are coming from. She has "real woman" proportions like the old 50's pinups.
  7. Demons/Thermal FTW...finally my Santanna 'homage toon can come to life.
  8. Detonation could be set to be a "yes/no" buff. It could be called "self-sacrfice" or something...lolz.

Serious a Sonic or Dark /Traps is starting to look good to me.

I might apply, if for no other reason than to add to my collection of rejection slips from NCsoft.

  10. I agree that's probably what happening. The problem is on a large team, if this power is used it makes it dificult to know who to attack and who not to. With the Old DS they just stood there immobilized, the graphics were still hard to see..but a smart person could deduce who was phased and who wasn't.

Now they attack and the attack animation plays as if you're being hit (but not taking damage). This is very confusing and has turned DS into a not very team-friendly power. Grav is a tough set as is it doesn't need any more of a bad-rep than it already has.

Solo it works well enough. But I know how the power works, I don't think a new player is going to have a clue..and will probably be confused as heck.
  11. The more I read this..the more shocked I am we didn't get dark assault. Earth melee is so slow...and Dominators need fast attacks to build Domination...hmmm.
  12. I'm excited it's a nice change of pace for people who don't want to spend all their time reapplying buffs. I hate buffing people...but I do like the benefits of buffing and debuffing. Traps does a good job of both. FFG provides good defense and mez protection with ZERO end cost. Poison Trap and Acid Mortar are very nice debuffs (again with Zero end costs)....I'm looking forward to it.

    HTTT Reunion?

How do people feel about running this one next. I'm a bit bored with all the regular TF's in the game, might be fun to try something diffrent.

  14. If DS worked more like Sonic Cage...hmm not a bad idea. But that's a huge change.

I'll just be happy if its fixed to work like it used to. And maybe please if the graphics for it can made a bit more obvious..thought that may be moot with power customization on the horizon.

    Here's Mud in Your Eye!!!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

You better hope it's mud! I'm going to wait and see. We did get a surprise with earth/electric being introduced together. I'm not holding my breath. Oh and Earth's embrace would be sweet.....sweet....sweet..

But I'm guessing we get aim.

I'm already think of ways to approximate my desire for a dark theme dom with. I wonder if Mind or Gravity will be customizable, so you can tint the g-fx with a dark/purple kind of color. Might be interesting.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You would want to go with dark purple or dark red - black effects tend to be transparent - for an example of that do shield character with the elemental energy shield and color it black - you can barely see it.

    Best advice EVER!!!!
  17. My fire/psi is going to love this. I'm a "farmer lite" in that I don't farm that heavily but do form time-to-time to raise funds for IO's that another toon needs. This will help alot. Also sometimes I just want to run a full-on-balls-out-superhard-on-fricking-insane levels. It will definitely give peole with IO'd 50's something to do.
  18. Who cares..we're going to get to throw Rocks, Hurl Bolders, and Smash people with Giant Stone Hammers!!!!

  21. As far as I know, the -DEF from all your powers stack together. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Your inherent power is "Domination". This is what will allow you hold bosses. It also replenishes your endurance and grants you temporary protection to mezzes. So pay attention to your Domination bar and use it often. Domination builds faster when you're own team. And guess what it counts MM pets as team-mates, so it should build up in as few as 10 attacks. Also the Eventually, I strongly recommend the Lockdown +2 Mag proc. This will help you by giving you a chance to hold bosses even when Domination is down. If it kicks in while Dom is up, you'll have one very powerful hold.
  22. I don't understand redraw complaints. They utterly confuse me..does redraw make you less effective or something? I'm being serious I've never understood why anyone would complain about a power having to animate.

And I dont think Doms are going to get pistols...but we'll see.
  23. Ok I have two Grav toons. My Grav/Rad I've had for almost four years. DS is acting differently, now. The mobs used to be immobilized and wouldn't attack. Now they run around like nuts and can still open fire on targets. Also the effect isn't as obvious...I'm going to to bug this, something is definitely wrong. DS is a difficult enough to use power without this added into the mix.

p.s. I've found an old power description:

    Dimension Shift
    Level Available: 12
    Effects: AoE Intangible, Immobilize
    Duration: 30 (Mag 3)
    Endurance Cost: 13
    Recharge: 90

    Description:
A controversial power, and the first of the unique controls available to Gravity. Dimension Shift causes your foes to become intangible. This means that, while they can't attack you, you can't attack them either. You can use powers on them, but you'll just get an "Unaffected!" message when the power lands. As intangible enemies, you can walk straight through them, which is nice. Enemies are also Immobilized, which means they can't chase you around or flee.
  24. Hmm I may have to alter my original advice. Earth actually seems like the BEST choice for teaming with 2 MM's. Plant used to be the control monster set, but Earth I think has so much de-buffing capability its kind of the obvious choice. Still Seeds of Confusion is nothing to sneeze at...
  25. [ QUOTE ]
    Confirmed.

Saw it last night when our grav used DS. Not only were the mobs hard to distinguish regarding affected or not, but yes, they were still attacking. And to make it worse because our team had a lot of -DEF, his DS actually hit the target cap even though not slotted for ACC.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can confirm this, that was my Grav Dom "Lady Cromwell". DS really loses its utility as an "Oh $%$$%" power if there's isn't an easy way to tell who's shifted and who's not. Solo I noticed mobs can still attack me. I don't take damage, but it can be very, very confusing. I would think even more so for the inexperienced player. I'll "/bug" this in game as well, maybe someone will take a look and fix.
