What countdown, you mean the bar that measures your progress till you can be a rouge? I filled that already and did the alignment mission. I'm not talking about that.

I'm talking about the power Duplicity which prior to the update was Automatic and now has become a Click power but only on half my characters. Looking at Wiki I see there are now countdown powers that exist prior to the actual power or maybe they were like that from the start but the text has then been screwed up on the Automatic versions to read as the exact same power. I read the text in game when I first got the countdown version and it said nothing about this just being a countdown to the real power, the text actually showed me the same thing as the real power before I had ever even seen what the real power was. So it's still a bug just not the bug I thought it was.

I just did the story arch from the above contact today. It was a rather interesting story arch but I have issues with the last mission.

The last mission of the story arch gives you a temporary power that makes you invincible and plays out like a farm mission. I thought the deves were trying to stop farms, not create them. This is an official mission where you spend nearly 2 hours just killing giant mob after giant mob of Legacy Chain. This would need a team if it wasn't for the temp power that makes it so you never lose health or end for the entire mission. And it didn't even mater than my pets bugged out and stood at the door while I fighting either, I freaking soloed this mission as a Mastermind with no pets. It's not a challenge just time consuming. I probably could of turned the mission up to x8 +3 and to fight heroes while solo and still finished the mission this way without a scratch on me but it'd take longer to finish.

The thing that makes this even worse than a farm is that only bosses are worth any XP. I think I killed about 5 bosses that did give XP for every group of 500 that gave no XP.

Basically, if you're going to give us a mission that gives such little XP and is no challenge then make it shorter. I was only attacking bosses at first then after I figured out they couldn't hurt me about 1/4 of the way threw the mission I didn't even pay attention to what I was doing and just started mashing buttons.

People have been saying this about CoH for YEARS that it was nothing but button mashing and no strategy and I've always defended that it wasn't true and then you go and throw this at me to show that I've been defending the game for no reason. Stuff like this is why so many people have stopped playing the game and you're making it really hard to bring back costumers who left already when you put crap like this in.

Fix your content. I'm going to assume this an unintended bug and a one time fluke but please fix this. Keep putting stuff like this in the game and all your long time customers will be gone by this time next year if not sooner. Some have already left years ago for exactly these reasons and I've had trouble finding decent teams ever sense. There's like 3 people on my global that still play, they other 30 I haven't seen sense maybe issue 9.

    To add to the list...

I've noticed that the Black Market Teliporter does not stay open long enough to read the selection let alone actually being able to click on anything. I haven't tested this with the Wentworths Teliporter but I Imagine it works the same way.

Next to all the zones it now states the level of the mobs that occupy that zone, not necessarily the level in which you have access to it. This seems fairly accurate in most cases except for Rikti War Zone which states that the zone is level 1-6 when it is actually more like 35-40. Yes level 1-6 can get it but again this seems to be based on MOB level and I have never seen any 1-6 NPCs in the Rikti War Zone.

Finally there's still a bug from the last update that has not been fixed which tends to prove deadly if you play mostly Masterminds as I do. Whenever you rezone with your pets they tend to trade names around. This is a minor annoyance but does impair some of my binds. I like to keep pets such as the Medic, Protector Bots, and Ember Demon on Defensive Follow at all times no matter what orders I give my other pets because they heal and buff. Because of the names switching around some times I end up sending my Ember Demon into battle while my Hellfire Gargoyle stands next to me doing nothing because their names are switched and he's on Defensive Follow while the attack command goes to the guy I don't want to attack. The major part of this bug is some times when you zone your pets will stop taking orders all together and stand at the entrance to the mission doing nothing. When this happens you can't even dismiss and re-summon them. They'll disappear from your pet window but still be active some how and your powers will fail when you try to summon. The only way to fix this is to leave the zone and zone again and then they should go back to normal.

And on some of my characters who have earned alignment powers. The alignment powers were originally all automatic powers. Some of them after respecing have turned into click powers that dropped into my tray. I thought it was just part of the update at first but then I noticed that several of my characters who have the same rouge alignment have both the new and the old versions of the same power after doing their respecs.
  4. I made some more changes to my missions. Every mission now includes a Doppelganger with his own story arch that ties into the existing story. I thought this would make my story more interesting to the random player going threw the story archs.

There are 4 different types of Doppelgangers you'll run into but I don't want to do the run down here. Play and find out for yourself.
  5. Rial_Vestro

    Doppelgangers

In MA by typing $target or $name into the mission text you can get the player name written in it's place.

With Doppelgangers being added to MA I thought this feature should work on them as well but for some reason it doesn't. They actually show up with the name $target and the enemy group they belong to says "Invalid String Command" The same as the error message you get when you type an emote that doesn't exist.

It seems you can't make the mission without naming the Doppelganger because it shows up as an error during editing.

So how is it possible to make them copy the name of the player. They do it in normal missions so there has to be a way to do it in MA right?

Really? My first character was actually Natural. Broad Sword/Super Reflex Scrapper. To this day he's still the only character who's ever received any compliments on his costume design and is the only character I've remade multiple times after deleting him. He currently exists in 4 separate forms all with Dual Blades/Willpower. I couldn't make up my mind which Archetype I wanted so I made all 4 and I was curious to see how different they would play with the same power sets. To be honest though if it weren't for the difference in epics and inherent ability I wouldn't even know the Brute and Scrapper were different archetypes. The Tanker and Stalker seem to be the only ones with obvious differences in play.

I plan to do the same thing with Dual Pistols/Traps (I hate that secondary but it seems to be the only thing that all 4 Archetypes can get.) I already made my Thug/Traps Mastermind. Not nearly as fun to play as Thug/Poison but hey, I'll take the excuse to make another Mastermind. (Blaster will be Dual Wield/Devices of course but it's basically the same as Traps though a little better I think.)

I memorized the order of Enhancements when I first played, and I always take extra time when buying one to make sure it's the right one. It is a hassle, though. Mobs and items don't bother me in this game, as the mobs have arrows by their names (might be an option you need to set) when you target them, and the items are all very distinct.
I guess so. I can never remember what color they're suppose to be. Every time someone refers to inspirations as colors I'm always like "What the hell is that? I might have some but I'm color blind!" I miss the days when instead of saying Purple we just called them CaBs. I know what a CaB is, I just don't know what the hell a blue is.

Oh and the only time I buy the wrong enhancements is when I forget what my origin is. I always end up going to the Magic store even on the rare occasions that I'm not a Magic character.

Not to mention putting up that "blue" sword on the auction house for 5 gold when it was really a purple worth 50. Curse video games and their color-coding, discriminatory practices. Seriously though, helpful post, thanks.
Um... lowest seller highest bidder and because the Markets charge you I never sell anything for less than 9 inf. By posting the lesser amount you'll actually get more money and your item will sell faster than if you posted the higher amount. Blame the screwed up way they set up these auctions. :P

As for the mobs... don't pay attention to the color code. Just pay attention to their level and know that GMs are always Purple.

I personally have the most trouble buying enhancements. By right clicking on an item and looking at the info you can see what it enhances but if I went by color alone... well most of them are either yellow, purple, black, or grey to me. The only enhancement I can clearly see are Damage because nothing else looks red to me except red. Another thing that may or may not help with this is that enhancements are always listed in the same order so if you can memorize where the placement is of any given enhancement then you can find it no matter what the name or color is. For example Accuracy enhancements are always listed first so I never get them confused with Healing enhancements. (Both Accuracy and Heal are yellow to me.)
  9. Sorry it's taken so long but I've finally come to a finishing point on my story archs so test them out and let me know what you think. If you've done the original version you can feel free to compair and talk about where I've made them better or worse depending on what your opinion might be.
  10. Sorry about the delay, my internet went out before I could get to finishing my last story arch. I just got my internet back today but my account is inactive. (note: the missions are saved on an alternate account not the one I'm posting with.)
  11. I just edited the Custom group "Vestereo's Army" that appears in the last mission of my 3rd story arch.

There are now 5 custom Minions, 4 LTs, and 4 Bosses. The new ones I just made are ment to be the Soul Exstraction versions of the zombies that were already in the group. Their powers are slightly different.

Zombies and Spirit, primary powers are the same but Zombie Noxious Breath has been replaced by Spectral Wounds for Spirits.

Death Knights are set to Melee as they use Broad Sword. Tortured Souls are set to fight at range with a few Dark Miasma powers. This is probably the only case where the zombie version is going to be harder than the ghost version.

Lich basically has all the powers from a dark/dark defender. Wraith I simply switched out the Defender for the Mastermind version of the primary power set so Wraiths will be able to summon pets making them much harder than the Lich version.

Also zombies can't fly, Soul Exstractions have Reflection Flight effects so you'll be able to tell them apart because they'll have that extra aura on them from the flight effects.

I was testing my story arcs on a new character and played from 1 to 7 the first run threw all 3. While doing this I noticed I noticed that the custom Legacy Chain are way too hard even with standard Legacy Chain mixed in and the custom versions aren't even worth XP. I'll be fixing that shortly. Sorry to anyone that has already played threw the story arcs and if you haven't done so already please wait till Wednessday while I work these bugs out.

    - = edit = -

Hello ago. I've worked out the problems in my first 2 story arcs, tested them, and everything is running as planed now. The last story arc is going to take me longer because for some reason when I went to edit mode Vestereo's Army vanished in a puff of logic... I just wanted to quote Douglas Adams there but really I have to rebuild Vestereo's Army from scratch. They're still in the published version of the story arch but they're not showing up on the edit mode.
  12. Did the Story again with my dad today. (That would be the real Mallardman)

Mallardman wears a green mask, brown shirt with a white starburst pattern, yellow gloves with black blend. Yellow boots and brown pants. He also has brown and blue wings.

The evil version some ended up with a brown mask which blended perfectly with the brown starburst pattern on his white shirt. I actually like that look except for one thing...

evil yellow pants! No idea how the pants turned yellow but they did.
  13. So I just did it again with Lord Imperial. Noticed that the doubles can't use my power coloring so even the one that has the right costume I can easily tell us apart because his powers are black which mine are bright blue.

The evil mirror was the same way and I switched costumes before fighting him the second time because the first costume didn't look too different. The other costume I switched to complete color switch except for the inside of the cape. My cape has the colors reversed on the inside from the outside and the mirror the cape ended up with the same colors on both sides.

I'm kind of afraid if I did that mission with my hooded costume that because I used "copy current colors all around" and my colors are Blue and White that I'll end up with a racist evil clone.

I think it would be funnier if the flawed clone had the correct powers but had random body proportions that didn't match your own. Like, most of my characters are about 6'4" and it would be funny as hell if my clone was 4'6".
  15. I just did the first villain arch and not as good as the hero version. But my Flawed clone turned out to have an entirely different power set. I was playing a Night Widow and she pulled out a Katana. Also D is apperently into beastiality because he think's Arachnos Fural is hot. Note the name, FURAL. She looks like a furry outside of her uniform.
  16. Got my normally account back. The Arch IDs are still the same and I think I'm completly done with updates.
  17. So basically the evil twins must be from the same place as Reverse Flash.

If you don't know who Reverse Flash is, he's the evil twin to The Flash with the exact same costume except it's yellow with red lightning insted of red with yellow lightning.

I wander if it would be odd to do the story arch with Lord Imeperial when he already has a evil twin with Lord Vestereo.

Oh BTW, MALLARDMAN was me, this account wasn't activated till this morning so I was useing a different account to post with.

But say it was an actual sword that some chick in a lake handed off to some medieval dude, and it could 'magically' be thrust into solid stone. That's not a regular sword, it's either magical, or maybe it was just perceived as magical by the medieval dipshits who thought you could cure cancer by bleeding people, when in fact it was simply advanced technology passed on by an alien lake chick for reasons unknown. Obviously, in reality, it's just a damn story, but if you were writing about it as if it were reality, an author would consider those two explanations as potentially viable.
While there are parts of the story that are obviously works of pure fiction as there are multiple different versions of the story I do belive the original story however old that may be to be grounded in fact.

That is to say, though I can't remember what the correct termanoligy is at this point, the story has been told so many times and so many different ways threwout history that it no longer holds much if any historical fact.

Simply put, while the events described are completly fictional, there's no reason the characters could not have been based on real people. Stories about giants for instance have spawned characters like our own Jack of Irons. However in reality it has been said that the so called "giants" of that time period were actully no bigger than today's baskit ball players. Even I would be considered a giant at 6'4". Basically terms like giant, oger, and other such fictional creatures were actully just derogatory names used to describe people of abouve average hight. The same could probly be said about Elfs, dwarfs, and other mythical little people. These terms are still used though rarely to describe people of different hights but now the words are taken from the stories. People have probly just forgotten that the words spawned the stories in the first place.

Honestly there are stories that people STILL belive are completly true however I'm not getting into that on the fourms. If you really wanna go there PM me.

And not everything that percived as magic has anything to do with science or technoligy. Most of todays magic for example is mostly slight of hand and distraction. There's even a few card tricks that are nothing more than simple math. But the thing is even though we know it's fake, we still can percive it as magic when we don't know how the trick is done.

I no longer have to ask my SG leader to run to the tailor with me so that he can sit there and count columns and rows to tell me which bubble I want. Thanks again. Blessings.
Did you say color blind woman? Wow! From everything I've read and been told about color blindness that gene normally skips women but can still be passed to their male children. Not that it's impossible for a woman to be color blind just meaning that it's rare for women to have color blindness.

My grandfather on my moms side was color blind. Skipped all of his kids as far as I know even though I have 2 uncles on that side of the family but the gene ended up being passed to me.

Even odder is that most of the female characters in game are male players so I think it's SUPER rare to find a female color blind person on this game. The last SG I was in had about 7 members who were really women and tripple that number were guys with female characters.

I'm actully kinda currious now how many color blind men we have compaired to women and what your color blind type is if you know it. http://www.vischeck.com/vischeck/vischeckImage.php shows 3 different types of color blindness and seems to be the most accurate color blind simulator for anyone who isn't color blind interested to see what the world looks like from our point of view. I think it's impossible to get 100% accuracy without removeing your cones to see what it looks like naturally but that would be a bit dangerous. (by cones I mean the little sensors in the back of your eyes that send the signal to your brain and allow you to see color. Color Blind people are missing some of these sensors naturally which is why we can't distiguish between sertain colors.)

I'm not too sure what I am sence I was never profesinally diagnosed but judgeing from Vischeck I belive I am Protanope.
  21. You know I realize this is unintentional but I'll say it anyway...

I get Double XP weekend for my birthday, best present ever!

... OK I said it, yeah I'm turning 24 tomarrow... or today... or yesterday... depending on what time you're reading this. Oh hell it's March 6th, that'll clear out any confusion based on what time you're actully reading this.
  22. I just discovered they made the Custom Options ALOT more workable so I took it as a chance to finally get rid of Hide on some of my Custom Critters as well as some other powers I never wanted but couldn't get rid of.

Side note, this is not done yet. I just backed up all my files on an external hard drive. Once Going Rogue comes out the amout of space we have to create missions is being doubled. My last 2 story archs have not once had enough space to accomplish what I really want with them and I think doubling the space might actully give me way more to work with than I need for Girl Trouble and will be just perfect for vs. Lord Vestereo. That last mission I want to build "Vestereo's Army" which I'm currently unable to do. Along with all this, the extra space will allso go twards adding descriptions to the characters for thoughs of you who actully like to read them.

Take a run threw my story archs. If you've done so allready in the older versions of it please take another pass. Things I'm looking for in a critique are...

    A. If you find a spelling error please give me a detailed description of where. I wrote this so long ago I have a hard time remembering exactly where each bit of dialog is. I've fixed some errors allready, others have been pointed out but I haven't been able to find where they're located.

    B. My custom groups are ment to be Analogs for the different pet types. Basically what I would design them to look like if I could change their costumes. However there are some NPC groups allready in the game that could allso act as Analogs for the MM Pets and in order to create a more diverse group I think it would be good to utilize both Custom and Standard critters. In short I could use some sugestions on good Analogs for...

    Lich

    Grave Knight

    Zombie Horde

    Soul Exstraction

    Dark Servant

    Assault Bot

    Protector Bot

    Battle Drone

    Force Field Generator

    Seeker Drone

    Commando (Pirate)

    Spec Op (Pirate)

    Soldier (Pirate)

    Medic (Pirate)

    Oni

    Jounie

    Genie

    Bruiser

    Enforcer

    Thug (Call Thugs)

    Punk (Gang War)

    Arsonist

And whatever ends up comming out of Demon Summoning.

    C. I haven't decided on a name yet for my Demon MM. If you've run threw "Girl Trouble" before you may of seen 1 or 2 Demon AV/EBs running around the first mission depending on when you did it. It's at 1 now and I've changed her look and name again. She is currently called Aghlnostu which is just all the letters of "Goth Soul Gang" placed in alfabetical order. How she looks right now and her powers will change once Demon Summoning is added to the game. This character who is responsible for creating the Goth Soul Gang will be my Demon MM. Mostly because I unintentionally gave Cameron the Lovely a demonic origin long before I ever knew I was going to need to introduce the demon as a seperate character.

My character will indeed be female and I'll come up with costumes on my own but I would like some name sugestions before I'm stuck with Aghlnostu as a name.

Allso once Going Rogue does come out whatever Aghlnostu ends up being called may end up appearing again. Right now she's only in that 1 mission because... well... I created her for that mission only and didn't originally intend for her to evolve into an actual character. She was created as a plot device and now that I know I want to make her as my Demon MM I kinda want her to be more than a plot device. Allso want her to have her own group which is connected to but not actully a part of the Goth Soul Gang. Simular to how the Vestereo Magbots and the Flying Dutchman are individual groups but allso factions of Vestereo's Army.

    D. Anything else I may of forgotten to mention in the abouve.

Short recap in case your eyes are burning...

    A. Spelling Corrections.

    B. MM Pet Analog sugestions.

    C. A name for my upcomming Demon MM.

    D. Anything else.

    - = edit = -

I just thought of another change I could make that I hadn't even considered and now I'm wandering why this never accored to me till now.

We allready know that Dual Pistols is comming out with going rogue. I didn't design Stranger with Dual Pistols before because he wasn't ment to be a Thug Mastermind. But now that I could give him pistols without making him a gimp Mastermind I think it would be a nice change. It's at the least an exscuse to introduce the 2 new power sets into my story arch. And it's a good way to tell right from the start that game play changes have been made to the story archs rather than just spelling corrections.

And when they saw lightining bolts, it was the gods getting pissed off because mookie was being mean to thog. We have used magic to accept things we don't understand throughout our history.

This topic always made me think of an interesting explanation for the gods, maybe for a sci-fi movie... lol. Maybe the legendary 'gods', zeus and whoever, were actually alien beings who were just hanging out on earth and playing with us monkeys. And all their god-like powers were just the result of their advanced technology and ancient man's inability to understand them. Maybe these alien 'gods' actually did create us, but not by using magic, by using science and advanced technology. The stargate movie kind of touched on this idea with the egyptian side of things.
    1. Your reasoning is kinda backwards. Your useing science mistaken for Magic to exsplain Magic mistaken for technoligy.

The Excalibur for one thing is just a sword, there's nothing different about it from any other sword other than the legend claiming it's magical origins so how can the Excalibur be mistaken for Magic when it was nothing that hasn't been seen before?

    2. Your idea for the Gods being Aliens is nothing new.

I'm sure there are others but I know on Star Gate it was exsplained that the Norse Gods were really aliens. Thor is one of the main characters who is a suprisingly small alien for someone who was worshiped by the Vikings.

    3. Magic is of course fictional but this is a fictional world we're talking about and Magic is real in that world. There's no reason we need to use real life ideas of what appears Magical but really isn't in a world where Magic is as real as the developers want it to be.

We have Magic Origins that are seperate from Science and Technoligy. We wouldn't have a seperate origin for Magic if it was as fake in the game world as it is in the real world.

The nukes are the reason the DE were created earlier on Praetorian than they were on Primal Earth.

And how Cole Defeated him alone could only be exsplained 3 different ways OR some combination of the 3.

    A. Cole defeated Hamidon in a weaker state than we know him as.

    B. Being an Incarnate and having the power of Zeus makes Cole ALOT stronger than any player. (of course that alone really wouldn't make sence because then fighting him would be harder than or at least as hard as Hamidon.)
