Also needs other members of the team to remember that healers can't heal through walls and around corners and can't be in more than one place at a time. Doing damage is a team effort, so is staying alive

Tell me about it
I'm sick and tired of telling people not to run away when an enemy so much as looks at them funny. Trying to actually get them to run closer to an enemy (I'm a kinetics defender) is simply futile
I can't count the number of times an energy blaster has cried at me for not healing him, even after I explain about how his really pretty knockback powers are knocking enemies out of healing range... -

Bubblers just seem so hard in pairs

This is very true. It's true for most defenders, but particularly those with single target buffs (ever seen a couple of Kinetics defenders working together? It's very nice).

A lot of players feel safer with enemies who can't hit/hurt them rather than leave their health in the hands of an empath.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think that's the main point here. We all know that defenders are all about damage mitigation, that's their team function, whether it be via buffing, debuffing or healing.
The problem is, apart from the lower levels (simply due to a lack of powers), healing is the weakest (maybe that should be most dangerous...) form of mitigation with the game as it is now. Buffs and debuffs make it so that your health rarely gets to the point where it needs to be healed, which generally makes them much safer. With healing, that damage has to have already been done and if the healer isn't on the ball, it's easy to get overwhelmed. -
A lot of people are on the test server, which is why it's a little empty right now.
Population should increase when I7 (oh noes, I just killed a kitten) goes live.

Fine, no speed boost for you!
Also, you can stand waaaaaayyyyy back so you don't get a fulcrum shift either

Ok, with ED is it still possible to get this to work as an effective endurance sapper in PvE? All the guides I can find are pre-ED and suggest 6 slotting short circuit for end drain. Obviously that can't be done now.
If it is still possible, which powers should be slotted for end drain?
Thanks in advance -
Empaths unappreciated? Looks like I've been teaming with different people to you.
Ok, story time
The other day, I was playing my kin/rad defender. Now I don't normally join PUGs, but I was a little bored, so I went and joined one. It was your standard melee group, couple of scrappers, couple of tanks, troller and an empath. Naturally I was pretty happy, the troller and empath could help keep everyone alive while I could buff the hell out of the front support.
Unfortunately, everyone seemed to have other ideas. Both the scrappers constantly ran to either side of the mob group, so it was impossible for me to buff them both, the troller didn't seem to care about CC, the tanks were trying to be scrappers and the empath seemed to have just put his AoE heal on auto, hit follow and gone to the pub.
I really should have quit the team, but I wanted to see just how bad it could get.
So there I was, running around trying to buff, heal and attack all at the same time (fortunately I was a level higher than the mobs) in an attempt to keep the group alive and moving forward.
At the end of the mission, guess what happened.
' Nice healing empath, we couldn't have done it without you '
Arrgggghhhh!!!!
Ok, that's the end of my small rant.
The moral of the story is, empaths are always appreciated. The problem is, it might not be by who you want it to be -
Thanks for all the help
So after playing around with it for a while (the build, cheeky), I've come up with...
01 : Focused Fighting defbuf(01) defbuf(5) defbuf(13) endred(17) endred(37)
01 : Storm Kick acc(01) dam(3) dam(3) dam(7) endred(19) recred(34)
02 : Cobra Strike acc(02) disdur(7) disdur(15) disdur(25) endred(25) recred(37)

44 : Lucky defbuf(44) defbuf(45) defbuf(45)
47 : Quickness runspd(47)
49 : Caltrops slw(49) recred(50)
Now I know jump kick isn't great (from what I've seen, anyway), but it is another attack that I desperately need until I can get CAK at 22.
My only concern is that I've left focus chi and quickness too late... -
So, I've finally decided to go back to my scrapper after she has sat in limbo for the past year

26 : Dragons Tail acc(26) acc(27) dam(27) dam(31) dam(34) endred(37)
28 : Lucky defbuf(28) defbuf(29) defbuf(29)
30 : Quickness runspd(30)
32 : Eagles Claw acc(32) acc(33) dam(33) dam(33) dam(34) endred(34)
35 : Evasion defbuf(35) defbuf(36) defbuf(36) endred(36) endred(46) endred(42)
38 : Elude defbuf(38) defbuf(39) defbuf(39) recred(39) recred(40) recred(40)
41 : Kick (Fight) acc(41)
44 : Tough damres(44) damres(45) damres(45) endred(45)
47 : Weave defbuf(47) defbuf(48) defbuf(48) endred(48)

Now, let me just get this straight. I know absolutely nothing about scrappers, I've played one for about 8 levels and that's it
So, any advice would be greately appreciated.
Oh and please don't laugh too much -
Is there any reason to take Arctic air AND Chilling embrace?
Looking at the descriptions, it seems AA is the better choice. Is this the case or is there something the description is missing? -
I tell the rest of my group to 'go make a cup of tea, I'll handle the rest'...
...then scream for help when Domination drops -
I have just created a new SG called Paragon's brood. At the time of writing this, I am the only member
(I have a captain, just waiting for him to get his PC fixed)
So, I'm looking for people to join me in the fight to save our great cityLevels 10 - 15, any AT.
All I ask is that you are an active player (i.e on at least once a week), that you play to have fun and don't act like a noob. If possible, I would like your character description to mention that you live in Paragon city, to fit with the idea of the SG (although it's not important if you already have an idea for your description).
I'm not looking to create the biggest SG, just a good one
If anyone is interested, send me a PM or send a tell to Frozen Queen in game, so we can run a few missions together. I'm on most days, at various times.
