In my opinion, that is just a weakness but it's time to keep the heals ready.
: Smashing (Champion Smasher) and other melee damage, Dark Energy (simply owns: like succubus, archon morena, i hate that guy), Fire (Behemoth Overlord and others) and just Energy (Chief Stunner/Juicer). OT Fact: Archon Morena simply, took all the robots down just like 'that' (ps. i've had his mission twice, he has killed me and the bots twice. One time he only killed me in seconds).
more ot:
Ice/Psi/lethal & missiles/grenades dont seem to be a problem, depends how many you get though. 10+ grenades = ouch.

I didn't want to open another thread just for a smallish movie i made, well it shows protector bots in action (well all of them tbh). -This video can contain power spoilers- , music of choice wasnt that good but sort of fits the mood (use mute when needed & play your own tune
).
Host should be "okay for speed" but can open popups (grr), just popup block if needed. Anyway here is Bang (63mb): <Click> . -
yeah i know the feeling, i have been defeated (cry) on that mission due to eh, npc blokade on the doorway (thanks :P)
Some tips:
- When you enter the vault room, place your minions at the doorway (create small blokade), make sure you can get out though because most likely you'll be going fast soon.
Important: If you have guards left in the vaultroom; make sure your minions are shooting at them not at the door.
- The vault door is at 100% hp, take some shots, wait and see if security spawns by keeping the chat window open. If they spawn, wait for more because i think there will be like 6 of them, 2 per wave. Order all your minions to attack a single target and run if needed, they are slower than you. Keep the other guard targeted so you can see where it's running, and rest quickly when needed/possible (if you dont have insps). There is a good window to rest when you have defeated the first 2 guards, rest of the 4 guards it's hit and run tactic :P.
Stop firing at the vaultdoor when it's 50% and wait for a good while, because sometimes i've had guards spawn at that point (strange).
When the door explodes, do not enter the vault just yet. Just wait for security come, if they don't seem to be coming but be sure about that, then enter the vault and loot and it's either : defeat 2 guards - rest or hit and run -tactic or both. Don't put yourself in a position where the guards can block you (in the vault room).
Warning:
Now the insta-spawn that happened to me (serious mistake), i made a mistake to shoot down the door from 100% to 0% and loot the item, all at once.. "security train incoming."
Notes: if you got guards when you took the first shots, and defeated all the waves. you should be able to destroy the door, but hold at 50% for awhile. Thats pretty much all i can say, it's tough mission.
Edit: I just personally do all the above, without inps, its tough to pull. Run forrest run :P -
Hmm, so it dont seem to be whole alot but maybe it's slightly more than that.. um. I had an real situation, that happened yesterday on a mission (things got out of hand, fast).
Difficulty: Ruthless (28-29s)
Mobs: Lost
Typing errors for mob names, highly possible.
Story:
Started out with a Anethma LT (orange) that got knocked back to another group, there was another Anethma (red) with 5 yellow minions.
First Anethma was defeated just as the second started bolting away, became my first target for Assault bot, while others started to take down yellows.
Intense firefight occured and the 2nd Anethma was down but at the same time one lost boss aggroed us, that of course became my primary target but then it got knocked back to another boss and and that point one of the minions decided to chase me around, so i had to save my own backside by running around trying to get him off me (there were still 5 of them because all this happened, so fast!).
Outcome: not a single minion loss. Maybe not due the bubble but maybe, i didnt have to heal much except use repair once on the assault bot and toss a few heals around. Last ones to clear out was the minions, so the battle drones were "tanking" them all that time and they didnt get hit very much.
The fight was short but man, it was a fight.
EDIT: then i started to remake the situation against Freakshow mobs but that one failed in seconds. -

If that's 4 defence buff SOs, you're going over the ED cap - stick with 3 to be most efficient.

You were right about that, thanks to your advice, i slotted for 3 and i think that my bots and me are getting hit less than before. Thanks. -
Yeah, it's fun. Just got my assault bot (it rules)
. When i started the character the missions felt SO easy it was almost like.. yawn, then i pumped the missions to ruthless and voila, good amount of action keeping me awake.
My role, is purely support that i have adapted but i do take a shot or two sometimes. TBH the only problem sometimes, is the environment.. like the cave missions.
i like the missions with large rooms, where i can hover and command my troops from above, it almost feels like playing an rts game. (had that thought while doing sky raider mission like that). -
My bot has been slotted for: 4 defense buffs, damage and heal but does it work.. mmm, well single bubble didn't work, everything always hit no matter what but now with 2 bubbles yellow melee mobs miss sometimes, ranged seem to hit like 70%, oranges/reds always score a hit.
ps. im still sticking with that setup :| -

Strange, I don't have problems with Spectral Demon Lords. Target them, tell bots to kill, lob web grenade, shoot it, shoot it, lob another web grenade, watch as SDL dies. If necessary, drop Triage beacon any acid mortar near bots to soften up and Spectral Knights that try to pick on my firing squad, problem solved

That is my problem, i'm lacking any croud control abilities but i have found a workaround for my character, just strong debuffs (weaken, noxious breath, envenom) works wonders against Lost LT's too, that can 2 hit battle drones, but now it takes 4 if he can even get close enough. But then there are times when i miss all 3 debuffs -
Well battle drones don't go nuts over a corner usually, they just jump but my protector bots sometimes do (stuck in there for a while). Ex. like if i order them to attack some mob on a higher floor.
But i have mercenary mm as an alt, those guys don't seem to go into melee range. Battle drones usually seem to wander to melee range if the fight lasts longer than usual but what i dont understand that, why dont they still shoot instead of meleeing like the protector bot does. -
So i just happened to think about what opponent you hate the most, that cause the most Problems / minion losses etc? even your own life sometimes
My top all time "oh no" opponents are as follows:
1. Some Tsoo bosses can one-hit my robots. /hardhit
2. Spectral Demon Lords oh man, most minion losses ever.
3. Berserkers that decide to blow themself up, and take my minions with him.
4. More than one guy with a flame thrower, can you hear that? yes it's my minions melting away.
5. Gravedigger bosses caused some losses as well.
6. Ruin Mages, just downright annoying.
The winner of minion kills for me is the Demon Lord.
Fight goes like this, 3 battledrones dies : resummon, protector dies : resummon and sometimes even 2 more drones dies before it does , argh.
Edit: my build includes poison with the healing but sometimes all the heals in the world isnt enough -
Well, i'm using weaken sometimes due to my habit no idea if it has made a huge difference but on the otherhand envenom allows to defeat Red bosses with minimal problems (except for Divine Wind That guy is the robo-slayer but yeah i downed him too after 3 tries). I'd take envenom over weaken any day.
