  1. Had to bump the topic. Outside inspiration for new ideas always helps me in my own base designs, even the stuff that doesn't work.
  2. Indestructable Security Gateway
Suggested by: Pyrotechnic (Base on the suggestions of others)
    Category: Doorway, Defensive
    Customizable? no
    Type: Purchased under "doorways" tab.
Description: People have already asked for indestructable doors that can be opened by anyone, and also for destructable doors only openable by base defenders during raids. What I propose is a bit of a combo of the two. I'm suggesting an indestructable door that can only be opened by defenders during raids. However, to keep this from being abused, it is considered an obstruction to the pathing system. Therefore, in order to put it into a doorway, the room connected to the doorway must have another clear path to the rest of the base. This allows for defenders to have a 'shortcut' sort of system, while attackers have to take the long route through defenses and players.
Limitations: Can only be placed in Doorways. To prevent any kind of abuse, you could make it a wall-mounted object, so that it can't be turned sideways and become a flat wall. It should be 1 square wide, and roughly half the thickness of an entire 1x1 doorway room, so that they can be put next to each other to make a sort of makeshift airlock. To make it fit every size of doorway regarding floor and cieling height, make it act the same way a pillar does; With the door part resting on the ground, and the rest of it extending up to and through the max possible amount of space above it.

    Secret Door

    Customizable? no
    Type: Purchased under "doorways" tab.
Description: Simply put, this would be a giant block, the size of an entire 1x1 doorway room. At first inspection, it would look like a normal wall, with the normal wall pattern going over it. However, if someone got close enough to interact with it, they could right-click on it to have the door raise into the cieling. Indestructable and openable by everyone, even base attackers. However, it shows up on defender maps as an empty doorway. This could not only add a lot of flavor to bases as they are now, but make for some really fun base layouts if people start making mazes of 1x1 defensive rooms filled with guns, with secret doors plotting out a path through them.
Limitations: Can only be placed in Doorways but doesn't count as an obstruction to the raid pathing. The size of an entire 1x1 block in size, and simply takes on the color and texture of the walls in the room. Doesn't actually count as a wall, however, so you can't place wall items on it.
  3. When I did the Silver Mantis trial with my SG, I didn't know where she was. I just kept going back to the mission computer to contact her. Try that.
  4. Glad someone bumped this. I always liked seeing how other people designed their bases.

Description: Simply put, it'd be great to plant a door in a doorway, RIGHT along where the two rooms have their styles conflict. This would not only serve to be visually pleasing, but could provide a base defense. They would come in two different categories, decorative and base defense. Decorative would open on a right-click by someone, just like the sewer/warehouse/tech lab doors in missions, and likely close about five seconds after being opened. Defensive doors would follow the same guidelines, except that only base defenders could open them during a base raid, and they would be destroyable by the enemy raiders, as the council cell doors are.
Limitations: Can only be placed in doorways, with a limit of only one door per doorway.
