Here's another of Hammerforge. The background shot on this was really pleasing to me. It's often hard to catch that perfect moment before contact between two combatants. I got lucky with this one.

Well, Hammerforge will hit 50 today and it's been a great ride to be sure! He really isn't supposed to have a "Knight in Shining Armor" theme exactly. He's more of a "Hammer Swingin' Norseman". However, I got some winged boots and before I knew it he was looking pretty medieval!

I have seen plenty of knight type characters before but I was just curious what you folks have made in the way of Middle age type characters. So let's see 'em! Not just the Knights either, lemme see the jesters, kings, queens, and sorcerers!

Generally all my characters are built around some concept. Almost all have detailed background stories. This usually means that if I can get one costume out of it that satisfies my idea of what the character is, then that's good enough for me. It's true that all the major heroes have gone through multiple looks but they also all seem to go back to there original. I normally fill up the other costume slots with palette swaps.

Oh jeez... I had to go and do it. *sigh* until they make me a monitor that'll display this I guess this will have to do.

Hello Heroes!

What a great week I had last week! I have been on vacation and enjoying my family. My three kids have been off as well, so it was Christmas toys and sledding and all kinds of great stuffz!

Alas my playmates are back to the grind this week and I still have two days off. Actually kinda enjoying the peace and quiet now... must be getting old.

BUT I DIGRESS!

I mean really, who gives a damn about all that! This is the artz forumz! To that end I have two new Wallpapers to go up but first a bit of an explanation.

For over a year now I have been wanting to do a wallpaper featuring all the main players in my SG. Which really means all my characters as I am really the only main player . Incredible Inc. is the SG I started shortly after I departed War Gods over a year ago and it consists solely of myself and a friend from work.

I really like the large two page spreads you often see in comics that are just packed full of say, every X-Man evah and such. I have also really drug my feet on this project though, as it seemed a bit daunting to try to fit all 10 of my favorite characters on one wallpaper. And it turned out to be damn near impossible. So I made two!


Incredible Inc. 1

from left to right:

Battleforge - Oldest team member. Nanotech Armor and Katana. A Master strategist. Level 50 Kat/Inv Scrapper
Gammaforge - Radioactive techsmith with cyber wings. Level 15 Rad/Rad defender.
Powerforge - Youngest team member. Orphan son of famous peacebringer. Feels he has a lot to prove. May be the most powerful team member. Level 50 Peacebringer.
The Pale American - Scary. Taught by a ghost from the future he may be humanity's ruin. Although viewed with suspision by his teamates he has yet to ever let them down. Level 50 DM/DA Scrapper.
Xcelerate - Scientist turned pure energy. Carries a huge grudge against Nemesis. Held together by his suit which was crafted by a fellow scientist and also his wife of 14 years.


Incredible Inc. 2

Hammerforge - Has known great loss. But in the moment of his death he refused to go to save the life of a small girl. Gifted with a Valkyrie's Warhammer for his courage. Level 41 Mace/WP Tanker.
Godbreaker - Reanimated spirit of an egyptian Pharoah he has lost almost all of his memories, though they are slowly returning. Inhabits a body sculpted of the Black Sands of Mu. Level 31 MA/Reg Scrapper.
Archlight - Pure of heart and righteous to the end he was gifted his powers from a being who seems to be none other than an angel from heaven. Never does the wrong thig.Ever. Sees the world in black and white.
Circus Fatalis - Claims to be from the Praetorian Circus of Light. Not much else is known about him. Level 11 DM/SR Scrapper.
Cybergator - An abandoned house pet grown to large he survived and changed by feeding off Vazhilslok Zombies and Rikti monkeys in the sewers. In search of long lost owner and friend. Level 26 Claws/Reg Scrapper.



Whew! That's a lot of writing for meh!

There is one omission on the roster. Operative Nightshade. I just couldn't figure out how to fit 6 people in one pic and still keep it feeling balanced so someone hadda go! I chose not to include him because he is so dark and there are already a preponderance of dark characters in these.

I had exactly the same dilema about three weeks ago. I have been wanting a Hammer-swingin' Norseman for awhile now but really wanted to be careful not to look like I was trying to be another Thor clone. It took awhile but I am pleased with the result.

So I am one of those early adopters of Ageia's Physics card. Call me crazy, call me a fool even! Truth is I bought it for this game. Yes it's true. I spent that money just to make CoH look more pretty. I know, I know, but hell, I spend more time playing this silly bit of comic hero fun after two years than I do Bioshock,Crysis and UT3

So there's my disclaimer, heh. Now to the story!

There is a certain magic mission in the Carnie chain from PI that I have been hanging onto since I9. I routinely spawn it for 5 then run through it a few times when I am feeling the need to make a few bucks for my other toons. One of the interesting things I have noticed is that if you herd two groups around a corner, very often they will begin to jump over each other in an attempt to get around the corner. The end result is that they all end up stacked on top of each other and what looks like one demon is actually a whole lot more. Sometimes as many as ten or even more. If this happens it's really a kick to go in and slap em around with any PBAoE that you have as you will often kill 5 or more with one hit.

So the point is that when that happens the physics can be a helluva show.

Well I cranked out another one today. I had a different intent with this one at the start but really struggled with it. In the end I had to settle for a bit of a hybrid of the last two wallpapers.

I have a feeling this one will get a significant update sometime. I really want to find a different background for it but the end result is still pretty good I think. The foreground shot of Hammerforge came out very exciting.

Thanks TA! I've given serious thought to doing wallpapers for other folks but in the end I guess I just don't want the commitment lol. I take promises very seriously and I know I would obsess over each piece until it was done and the subject was happy. You see how often I tweak ones I've already posted.
Then there's the time requirement. It doesn't take too long to do one really, two to five hours. But I have a full time job as a lineman for the phone company, three wonderful kids, and I spend about 90 minutes at the gym 6 days a week hehe. I'd hate to promise something to someone and then have RL make them wait.

I've considered trading Inf for them but I doubt there's enough interest for folks to do that.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words!

Tries for something a bit different with this one. Going for a more subtle look and I am very pleased with the outcome!

I have really been enjoying my new Mace/Willpower tank! I have wanted to create a Norse type hammer character for a long time but was really struggling with the costume. Trying to rip off Thor without, you know, looking like I am ripping off Thor. hehe. Concept and backstory go a long way with me and over the last few days his costume and history really came together for me.

While he's only level 11 atm I think this one will be my sixth 50...Not that I have 5 other 50s..heh.. I mean I do other stuff... just ask my wife.

She's around here...someplace.
