Quote:While it's true that the openly evil mastermind type who wants nothing more than to see the world burn is one kind of villain, the more three-dimensional type is the one who sees themselves doing some kind of good.Villains...?" Oh, what true villains want is horrifying! What does Phipps want? What does Peter Themari want? What does Recluse want? The answers make normal people gasp and shudder! Joker, Dr. Doom, Darkseid.
Emperor Cole is a good example of that, manipulative and oppressive, but convinced that his methods are saving his people from the evils of Hamidon and the Primals. Another good example is the antagonist of the first season of Gurren Lagann, Lord Genome. He forced the people of earth underground into societies where food was scarce and the standard of living was fairly abysmal, and openly opposed the hero who was trying to free them, but he was doing so to save mankind from an alien race that would annihilate them all when the world's surface population reached a certain amount.
So, I think what makes a villain a villain is their methods, not their intentions. Whereas heroes solve a problem by doing what's right, villains do what they can with less regard for the decision they think is arbitrarily "good."
Also, if you're looking for villains who demand respect, Lord Genome once punched a mech in the face while his head was on fire -
My Arachnos Soldier is called Furious Survivor, because he escaped from Project FURY before he could be turned into an Arachnoid and is now pretty pissed off at Arachnos.
I also plan on making a widow called Sister Serpent, who is named so because she has a birth mutation that makes her skin reptilian, and because screw the spider motifs -
Like everything, some of the more ornate new pieces (CoT, Ascendant) look good when used in moderation. I often fill most body slots on a costume while still looking somewhat subtle, you just have to choose Sport shoulders instead of Pain Pads
Additionally, I agree with the people who feel the CoT set doesn't have much universal appeal, I just poached the nice, striking parts like the kilt and hood from it. -
Can someone remind me when having these costumes became so prestigious? I've never seen someone with one of these and thought: "what a shining example of a man, concealing the costume he spent hours designing! I wish I could be him."
And anyone who thinks highly of themselves because they got the con codes and other people didn't needs to get their priorities straight on what counts as an actual personal achievement.
Also, I live in Australia and thus can never get the costumes via cons, and if I could, hell I'd probably just enjoy the con! Maybe bust out the PPD Hardsuit while I'm waiting for a team to fill and think nothing more of it.
Also, people can get 14-day versions of these during Halloween...without spending ANY money! DOOM!
ALSO, they cancel stalker stealth, which is prety lame. -
Another thing that people need to remember about this set is that it is Titan WEAPONS, not Titan PRAGMATIC USE OF ANY AND ALL NEAR-AT-HAND HEAVY IMPLEMENTS. So the people who think that each individual fight will see you using a unique bashing tool are gonna have to wait for a different set.
But the more improvised-style models in this set will work well with specifically-themed characters, like an angry train conductor who uses the railway crossing sign.
