  1. I posted my progress in another thread but:
Arch De Triumph, TA/Arch def from 36 to 50
    Samurai Rick TW/WP scrapper 30 to 50
    Mr Mid-Nite 30 to 41.

was hoping to get all 3 to 50 as I usually get 3 toons to 50, teaming for me was awful..friday started with a manticore tf and a ms raid..2 levels from the manti in just under 3 hours, I think I shouldve had more xp than that, and 6 bars of xp from the mothership raid. i forget who lead the raid but halfway through it decided to put my lvl 36 def on his own team abd left him there until 10 minutes left on the raid.

also decide to play my fire/kin just to get infl..wound up getting him 4/6 of the absolute amazement set.so, thats a huge plus right? got a duplicate won, tried 3 times to convert it but gave me stuff I already has. so sold it and got 220 million for it after I made it and put it on wentworths

    Today I turn 30!

Happy belated birthday!!! Drinks all around! And whatever you don't want to drink, the birthday boy gets!
  3. that being said, rl did come first and i think Im allowed one bad 2xp weekend..considering the one from this past winter was THE BEST 2xp weekend I ever had. SO, maybe it's the winter ones I excel at..Long island is a summer community and such..and to be faier, I will be playing my lvl 50 fire/kin - Das Firekin more for the i-trials and in DA going forward. maybe re-roll an alt and do some DIB's for lower-level lts.
  4. another 2xp weekend done..and..I'm a bit disappointed...lots of teaming going on that I just kept missing out on..I dunno, was there a boycott on having me on teams this time? it started with a manticore tf that took almost 3 hours..and I only got 2 levels of xp, barely..then did a rikti raid where, for some reason, the raid leader put my lvl 36 defender on his own team halfway through the raid and wouldn't change it. so, while I'm hearing people getting 4 levels of xp...I got 6 bars..I repeat..6 BARS of xp. disapointing start to what I consider the worst 2xp weekend I've ever had in the 8 years of attending and participating in every 2xp weekend that they've done.

But, I did get one toon to 50 and one to 45!

Having said that, I hope your brother is doing better, Pogo! <3
Thank you, he is, and congrats on the 5-month old.
oh, it's my brother-in-law..but thank you just the same.
  6. Update:

Samurai Rick joins the 50 club tonight.

Arch de Triumph started lvl 35..now 50
Samurai Rick started lvl 30..bow lvl 50
Mr Mid-Nite started 30..currently 41 and still playing him tonight.
  7. SUNDAY MORNING 2XP UPDATE:

Samurai Rick now at lvl 36..was 30 at the beginning of the weekend
Mr. Mid-Nite now at lvl 40..was 30 at the beginning of the weekend.

As previously stated, Arch De triumph, started the weekend at lvl 35, hit lvl 50 yesterday.

taking a break for some breakfast and a 2-3 hour nap. then will continue leveling. Just found out those xp booster's DO stack with the 2xp weekend but only as their normal 25%, still..every bit helps.. 225>200%.
  8. Just got Arch De Triumph to 50. Taking a dinner break then will begin on Samurai Rick (lvl 30 tw/wp scrapper)
  9. Lousy day, didn't post this earlier..

Toon's i'm working on this weekend:

-Arch De Triumph. lvl 35 Ta/Arch Def...
Got him to lvl 41..did a 3 hour manti tf. a MS raid where I only got 6 bars of xp...ugh..then some late night teaming.. will play a lot tomorrow, after I get some mandatory work done, to get him to 50.
-Samurai Rick. lvl 30 TW/WP Scrapper.
    -Mr Mid-Nite. lvl 30 darr/Dark Controller.

Will post an update tomorrow, once I get Arch De Triumph to 50.

Logging off as I haven't gotten much sleep the last few days before 2xp weekend. Good news though, my bro-in-law is home and resting in his own bed after back surgery. Cya all tomorrow!

unfortunately, my bro-in-law was in the hospital the last two days and I've been up there visiting..sadly I went to buy generic io's earlier for one alt and prices are getting crazy already!

I was called to a home a few months ago for a patient who had been playing an online game (one of the Korean or Japanese ones I don't know anything about). The call kicked out as chest pain/difficulty breathing. According to his parents he had been in his room for several days only coming out for meals. He was overweight, but not obese as is often the case with 30 somethings that lock themselves in their rooms for weeks at a time playing games. I asked him what was going on, his breathing was shallow and he was wincing a lot, saying it hurt to breathe and he was dizzy and sweating profusely. His feet and ankles were extremely swollen and painful to the touch.

Long story short, He had been sitting for three days, eating crap food and not sleeping more than an hour or two before getting back on the computer. Due to the lack of movement and long periods of sitting he developed edema in his feet and legs (retaining of fluids) and subsequently formed a blood clot in his calf which traveled to his lung and got stuck. Last I had heard he went home, fairly intact.

    HE GOT LUCKY.

It's just a game folks, please take care of yourselves first. XP will always be there. I know it's tough, really I do. I've played COH long enough and seen enough 2XP weekends to know firsthand.

Eat decent food, hydrate ( no mountain dew is not a good choice for hydration :P)
    Get up and move regularly
SLEEP! The damage you can do to yourself by skipping sleep in scary, seriously I know. In my line of work I'm constantly sleep deprived, it @#@$$ you up!

I love this community, would hate to see any one of hurt due to not knowing when to say ENOUGH.

Play safe, see you out there!
EXCELLENT ADVISE!! One of my tips was get your sleep! and, yes, some water and healthy quick food is advised here. It IS just a game, have fun, go crazy, but take some responsibility for your health!

Actally I will add that to #4..I meant to say that there but was rushing to get to the hospital before my bro-in-law got the go ahead for his back surgery.
  13. I'll list what character's I'll be leveling this weekend, by tonight, and daily updates on my progression.
  14. On the eve of 2p weekend, I realize with real life stuff emergencies, i haven't written this up yet. So, first off, a few things to do in preperation of the big weekend

1.) FOOD AND DRINK SHOPPING. Have plenty of easy accessible snacks and drinks handy. preferably with caffeine. trust me, by Sunday morning you'll thank the gaming gods for caffeine! Also, microwavable food is best to cut down on cooking time. I prefer microwavable pizzas myself.. They're fast and easy to cook, which equals less time away from the computer. Perhaps even prepare food/meals in advance to cut down on time, refrigerate them and warm them, if needed, when ready to eat. I also find microwavable popcorn a great and fast snack. make a big bowl of it and you're set for a while.

2.) HYGIENE! I find a quick shower in the morning before sitting down to play helps refresh yourself plus takes care of that body odor. A quick brushing of the teeth, shaving optional, and you're good to go!

3.) CLOTHING PREP. this might sound odd, but this goes with the hygiene thing. You just cleaned your body, put something clean on over it now! Figure out what clothing you'll be wearing for the weekend and lay them out in advance. Since I'm home for the weekend, it's usually sweatpants or shorts and a t-shirt or tank top...Plus underwear and socks (socks optional).

4.) CHARACTER LIST. It helps tremendously to make a list of what characters you want to work on during the weekend. Focus on the ones you want to level the most. Also, it might help to save time to use MID'S HERO AND VILLAIN DESIGNER to plan out your character's build When it's time to level up, you won't be bogged down with what to choose. Just follow your pre-planned build. Also, depending on what level you are, it might help in advance to buy/create IO's instead of normal enhancers. They last longer instead of normal SO's that will turn red and useless after a few levels. Also, if you have a SG/SV base, perhaps build some IO's ahead of time and hold onto them for when you level up you can just slot them right away.
Ammendment : Slot your characters with generic IO's, because they won't go red and stop helping you.-courtesy reminder from Bullet barrage. (Thanks. I KNEW I forgot to add something. That's what I meant to say but was rushed.)

5.) HAVE FUN!! It IS a game after all. Enjoy the time you are playing with friends and teammates. It helps the weekend go better.

6.) LISTEN TO THE CAPE RADIO! trust me on this one the DJ's are friendly and the music they play is great, even hilarious at times. You'd be surprised at what they play and that helps the weekend go too.

7.) GET YOUR SLEEP! It doesn't help you, or your teammates, if you doze off mid-mission. If you can't get a decent night's sleep in, then play for a bit, then take a 1-2 hour nap here or there. In the long run it WILL help.

That's all I can think of for now, I'll add other thoughts , if any later.
SO, get to it. preparation, preparation, preparation!! HAVE FUN, maybe we'll even team up this weekend and I'll see you in game this weekend!!
Now, go get dem double ex-peas!!

  18. actually..I was thinking after I made this thread to just put it here and rename it. Plus Ive done a thread or two for EVERY 2xp weekend so far.
  19. THAT'S RIGHT!

    8/10-8/12 2xp weekend is BACK!!

Which means, very soon, I'll be starting up yet another 2xp weekend thread
to discuss what your in-game plans will be...Who you will be leveling up, etc.
Plus some pointers for getting through the fun, long, weekend!!
  20. Great Guide thus far! Exactly what I'm looking for! Especially for my level 22 dark/dark controller!
  21. Yes but Im only lvl 22. Thats why Im looking at an SO/IO build. I see a lot of great IO set builds on here. But, what do you do in the meantime while you're working your way up there? That's the point of this build.
  22. reworking the build, running out of slots. have to run out for a bit. When I get back, I'll post what I've done so far.
  23. Ok thanks, was just looking in before bed. I'll reread this tomorrow and rework the build.
  24. Ok, reposting build as is, have at it. Will look over your comments tomorrow. today wound up being a wash.:
