  4. I am thinking the PVP community will enjoy the "IN PVP" aspect of the powers selection screen

    I love the scalable factor here. I assume that the numbers presented are using the BASE stats at each level.

    I know i am going to enjoy seeing the % chance for in the powers.

After, what 4 years, of people practically begging for a pure punching set for scrappers the devs finally have a chance to correct this huge oversight in their original design, and they don't.

    SuperStrength. It's the iconic "go punch them" set. A separate "street fighting" set might have been better, but based on what Castle said, that's nowhere on the horizon.

    And for those saying "give it a try"...I need to try Fiery Melee to tell it isn't a punching powerset?

    In the past, when people asked for punching sets, they were usually told "We've got SuperStrength and Dark Melee!" To which the punchers turned up their noses and for various reasons poo-pooed those sets as punching sets.

    So, even if SS was ported over, I doubt that would have satisfied the vocal punching fans.

    But even with a Boxing Set, there will be those who cry it's not street fighting. And with a Street Fighting Set, there will be those who cry it's not a Boxing Set.

    The Devs can't win here.

    Zombie is right on this. If you make a Streetfighting set, its not going to be all punches. and there will be cries of its not a punching set. If you make a boxing set there will be cries there's no other moves and just looks like a weak super strength....

    Actually no... Transfusion is targeted and the Area is based off the enemy location. Twilight Grasp is targeted, but the Area is based off of the users location, not the enemy's.

    But the Heal is the same AMOUNT i should have said, not behaviorally, at least I believe so.

    Twilight grasp does work when mobs fall, transfusion doesnt....which still makes no sense. Wonder if BAB/Castle could look into that one as a minor issue.

    We still have a bit more time in Alpha with Issue 12. Then we have weeks of closed beta followed by more weeks of open beta. There is always time to remove or alter things, as per the plan.

    Thank you Lighthouse, that should quell SOME of the concerns knowing that things will still require as Liquid is begging for, testing before doom calling.

  12. Zloth, you changed your avatar. But you bring up a good point regarding stating clear and obvious concerns with WHY people dont like it.

    I think i explained why i am not impressed, its not doom. its not the end of the world, but really I was hoping for something that would have me going Yippee skipeee over the announcements for red side.

  13. I am underwhelmed. I am not unhappy, I am happy that things are being shuffled about, just some of the choices leave me apathetic to the whole deal.

    I can see plenty of nice combinations coming out of this, I even see an Earth / Elec Dominator concept (look up conductive minerals on the net...). I just cannot wrap my brain around Elec/Elec Stalkers. Ice Stalkers have been asked for since CoV Beta when Ice/Ice was removed from brutes. Its a good port, would fit the set thematically speaking it even sounds nice..Ice Stalker.

    I dont recall too many tanks clamoring for DA, but I guess someone somewhere was.

    /SR brutes though? If you maintain the normal porting (which we dont have numbers yet, so this is only assumption which carries its own risks) you are talking about Super reflexes performing less well than normal super reflexes. lets say 90% of normal for laughs. Granted wailers Sonics and the Longbow sonic grenade dont hurt you as bad, overall I see these guys face planting quite a bit until the higher levels. I dont even want to think of the endurance costs from the multiple toggles, almost nil resistances, no heal what so ever...this is really just a bad idea, I think testing will prove it.

    The question is, IF testing does indeed prove some of these sets do NOT work well in their new enviornment will they be thrown out in favor of something else, or put back on the drawing board temporarily until something comes along?

    And I am not unhappy. I am just underwhelmed by some of the choices. Others seem rather cool. no pun intended but I can't wait to see Regen scrappers with Frostwork on them...

    Invuln tanks with ice sheilds being completly untouchable.

    Forge AND Fortitude on people during praet arcs (though i imagine we will see Forged Fire tanks now on certain missions)

    Masterminds getting ANOTHER pet with Tornado....yeesh. Though I am having trouble putting the Storm with a primary conceptually, its still early.

    So I am happy with some of the ports, severely confused about others, but over all just not Excited by certain choices.

    Fire scrappers I called last week, no surprise. SR brute? Are you kidding me...dark armor tanks? Yeah...I just don't see myself making anything new from this so far.

    /still scratching head at the elec STALKERS rather than tanks/

  19. Bases need work. A lot of it. This isn't a Veruca salt moment unless now in your continuum = 6 issues ago. Anyone who says otherwise isn't a BaseBuilder. We've been asking.

    We have gotten some things....but outstanding bugs for issues remain unchecked. Things we believe are simple get no comment to PM or thread.

    Rent Reduction - Good
    Combo Rooms/Units/Starter Bases - Good
    Prestige Grants - Great!

    Now, lets see about
    Decorative Items that exist within the mapping program.
    Fixing RoboSurgery (YAY Pohsyb!), and certain Defensive items for those that do the base raiding (not me, but it is a valid concern for them)

    And these are just two relatively simple items from a fairly comprehensive list thats been developed, tweaked and updated.

    IOP removal...yeah its a start. Robo Surgery (again yay Pohsyb) is another start...

    But many builders are losing faith and hope that we will even be acknowledged at this point. We just had more red name posts in the builders forum in the past week than we have all year, and thats 2 by the way (warning that may be hyperbole I didn't actually count, but its damn close to accurate). So as a community we do want someone to tell marketing to kiss off and just SPEAK TO US. Address our concerns just like any other community in this game. At least give us something to cling to rather than two false starts that may not actually mean anything in the long run.
