Well, my only real tech characters are Asuka, Dr. Vladamir and Tetsuko. And the last two I only used for comedic purposes (and Dr. Vladamir has some pretty wacky inventions...)
I get kinda irate at people using demons as their characters or having their characters in some way associated with demons.
I'm guilty of this, of course, with Asuka's energy-sucking sword, but the idea behind her was to combine all the origins (except mutation) and confuse the hell out of people: ninjitsu (magic/natural), implants (science/tech), and her sword (tech/magic).
I also notice a LOT of people limit themselves to the archetypes. There are a few notable exceptions of course -
"Excuse me Dr. LeBlanc?" came a female voice behind her as she wandered the halls.
It was Kara. The young nurse was relatively average height with long dark hair tied in a low ponytail that came down to her waist. She looked like a bit of a ditz, and unfortunately many of her actions while not at work reflected that assumption. At work she was serious most of the time, and always respectful. -

THEN WHY IS IT SNOWING?!) -
"S-so....time for food!" Kara said to the still silent, still staring girl in the wheelchair.
Kara had to find out more about this girl. The odd thing about Tharomar hospital was that, aside from being incredibly large AND a teaching hospital, hospital policy for patients 'in for the long haul' i.e. longer than a couple weeks, was to have them organized alphabetically, not based on their condition. So, since the charts and file were off limits to her, Kara didn't know if Mina was a hypochondriac, had a birth defect, or had suffered an injury.
Out of curiousity, she looked at her schedule for her.
Taking blood pressure, feeding, measurements...
Not a single blood test for the next several weeks. No physical therapy scheduled either.
Kara had trained to be a nurse to physically injured children, she had little training in psychology or psychiatry, hell she slept through what classes she had that involved it, but even she could tell that Mina had a mental condition. Probably trauma, given her refusal to speak and inability to walk despite not having so much as a bedsore on her legs. Some of the other nurses said Mina would wake up and massage her own legs, and she somehow knew about acupressure and shiatsu, or at least that's what Mr. Sakamoto, the head of the rehab department, claimed after seeing her on his first day.
Kara walked into the room and placed the tray of food on Mina's lap. Since she was focusing so intently on the girl, she noticed that Mina actually moved her legs slightly to adjust the tray. Stranger and stranger...
"So, um, I brought this," Kara took out a sheet of paper with several pictures on it, as well as a speak-type device, "All you do is type what you want to say, or point to the face and resembles what you're feeling...."
Mina picked up the typing device and began typing like a pro. Even more strange.
Thank you, my last one broke. she typed, and smiled.
"Good! Uh, why didn't you just ask for..." Kara began, then stopped when she realized how stupid that sounded. Mina even gave her a look that told her the same thing.
Where are you from? Mina typed.
"Um, well, I grew up in San Francisco," Kara replied, "Where are you from?"
I don't remember. she typed.
"Oh," Kara said, "Did something bad happen? Is that why you can't talk or walk?"
I can.
"Can what?"
Talk and walk
"Then why don't you? Don't you want to go outside and play?" Kara asked, genuinely curious of course.
I'm too old. And it isn't safe.
Kara laughed a little, "Why don't I go out with you? You can see the snow!"
Snow? Mina asked.
"The white stuff outside. You've never been in the snow?"
Can't remember
The whole time they had been talking, Mina had been eating. Just then, she finished.
"Do you want to go outside now?" Kara asked.
There was a long pause.
OK she finally typed.
"Great!" Kara said, grabbing Mina's tray and setting it aside.
She began pushing Mina's wheelchair out the door. Outside was a throng of people milling about. Doctors, nurses, patients, visitors.
Kara was pushing the girl towards the nurse's station to sign the correct papers when she heard a human squeak. Of course, it was Mina.
She was trembling, badly.
"What's wrong?" Kara asked.
Tttttttoo mannyy she typed, making several typos.
"Too many what?"
People. Scared. Room. Go Back.
Kara sighed, "Okay, we'll go out again when there's fewer people. Is that alright?"
Yes.
With that, Kara wheeled the panicking girl back into her room and helped her into bed. -
(OOC: I hope this is okay, the snow kinda inspired me)
Meanwhile at the local hospital, a teenage girl, or at least she appeared to be a teenager, was sitting in a wheelchair in her room, watching the snow fall...
"Who is that girl?" a nurse, starting her first day, asked.
"Her name was...Mina I believe," an older nurse said, "She's been here for years. Before I was transferred here even. Only Dr. Eggard knows why. It's best not to ask, Kara."
The older nurse walked off, leaving the other to watch the girl.
"She seems so sad..." Kara said out loud.
"You'd be too if you went through what she did," an old man's voice came from behind Kara.
"Ah! Dr. Eggard!" she exclaimed, "S-sorry! I'll get back to work!"
"Nonsense...this is actually a happy coincidence, Nurse Wren, you've been assigned to Mina's room while I'm away on business," the doctor said, smiling.
"H-huh?! What do I do for...with...to...uh..." the nurse studdered.
"Just talk to her, check her blood pressure daily, make sure she eats, that sorta thing," the doctor said, walking away, "In fact, start now, I want a list of her measurements. Obviously it's not fair to her to have an old fart like me do it."
Kara felt a little weird about this.
"Ok...I guess..." she said, moving into the room.
On the wall she found a tape measure used to take measurements. This was really an odd hospital...
"Hi, I'm Kara, I'll be your nurse while Dr. Eggard is away," Kara introduced herself.
The girl just stared. The sad look in her eyes was almost heartbreaking.
"I-I just need to take your measurements..." Kara said as she grabbed a clipboard.
Mina seemed to know the drill...measuring her was fairly easy despite being in a wheelchair. Strangely, the whole time, the girl didn't speak. Kara was curious.
"Can you talk?" she asked.
Mina nodded.
"Huh? Then why don't you?"
Mina looked away, as if to say 'None of your business.'
"...Forget I asked," Kara said meekly, "I'll just record this then."
She wrote down the measurements and replaced the clipboard.
"W-well," she said, "I'll see you later then!"
Kara left the room.
A light smile crept across Mina's face.
She talked to me... -
"So what do you think?" Annette spoke to a mysterious figure.
"..."
"You're going to fight? So soon? I didn't think..."
"..."
"You're right...my apologies Master Kinto."
With that, the shadow was gone.

((EDIT: I really hope a bokken is a sword. XD))

it's a wooden sword. It doesn't have an edge so it's basically a short, bent staff -
(OOC: His arm's frozen solid, Shiomi's technique doesn't just freeze the surface, she stabbed him so his internal fluids are actually freezing. Add to that her stilettos are still stuck in his arms.)
Asuka didn't even flinch. She was still wearing her scarf and goggles from earlier, so the powder didn't do anything. Thus, she easily blocked the oncoming attack. -
(OOC: I don't think Nictus can teleport quantum energy...)
"Pity...it would have been quick," Shiomi said, catching the Nictus' arms with a pair of long stilettos, "I don't play as nice as Asuka."
Suddenly the Nictus felt cold, very cold. His arm touching Shiomi was actually beginning to freeze solid.
"I wouldn't try that," she said, predicting he'd try to teleport her away, "Because you'll still freeze, and I won't be happy."
Using the last of the energy absorbed from the other blade, Rensai protected his wielder from the net. Even if he hadn't, the wind around her would have.
What's more, she was prepared for Ruby's strike. With zeal. -
The absorbed energy continued to provide protection against shinji's attack.
The shuriken attack was downright insulting. A REAL shinobi wouldn't run around with shuriken in broad daylight. Poisoned needles were easier to conceil and produce.
Asuka blocked the shuriken easily, as she had ever since childhood.
As for the Nictus energy...
Backup arrived just in time: a single blast from Shiomi's quantum nullifier pistol nullified the incoming energy.
"You're late," Asuka said to her.
"So sorry Asuka-chaaaaan! I had some trouble with some street punks outside," Shiomi said cheerfully.
Shiomi turned to the direction of the blast. The room began to grow cold. It wasn't the chi-energy control Asuka emitted, but rather like the temperature was being willed lower.
"So which one do I get? The meanie with the ugly sword or the alien?" Shiomi asked.
"The alien," Asuka replied.
"Awww," Shiomi whined, pulling the large quantum gun she had strapped to her back and dropping the used up pistol. -
To their surprise, the sword seemed to consume the nether energies from the other sword.
Simultaneously, the Bane's energies that were flowing around Asuka's body changed tint, blocking the Nictus' strike and giving him a leg full of demonic energy. -
Asuka righted herself in the air and kicked off the rafters, catching Ruby's blade with her own.
Her own blade began to pulsate as it fed off the evil blade.
Meanwhile, some distance away, a disguised Longbow helicopter that had been 'liberated' by an Arachnos sect some time ago landed in a nearby park.
Several suspicious longbow agents exited the vehicle, followed by an asian woman with long, light blue hair who stood out from the rest due to her casual, civilian attire.
"Keep this area secure, I'll be back soon," she said sweetly to one of the 'longbow'.
If Statesman had known a high-ranking Arachnos operative had landed in his city to do battle with some psycho over control of a blade that could kill him, he probably would have taken an interest.
But all he would know about is a long-lost Longbow squad had finally returned after hearing about some thieves from the MAGI vault had holed themselves up in a building, and they had decided to investigate.
"Milady, the weapon you requested," one of the operatives said, holding up a smaller, sleeker, but no less powerful, Quantum Gun.
"Thank you," she said as sweet as sugar. Only these soldiers could comprehend how this sweet young woman could be a routine murderer and exceptional interrogator. -
Asuka was insulted. Such a direct attack with her chi flowing all around the area!
She didn't particularly wish to deal with the Nictus in this state, given she wanted to add a...special...touch to his defeat.
She wasn't above toying with the ugly thing though.
She had landed just a couple inches from its back, jamming a finger into its back.
"Ninpou: Five Serpent's Disguise Technique," she chanted.
With the wind tearing around the room containing her chi, this technique was rather easy:
So long as this Nictus was in the wind, he'd look like her.
She certainly hoped her back-up arrived soon, she could only keep this up for so long.
Izuhara Shiomi, once known as the Blessed West Wind, picked up her cellphone and noticed a familiar name. It gave an address, and said, quite simply:
"Bring a Quantum Gun" -
Ruby's blade cut air. In quite the literal term.
What *was* Asuka exploded in a gust of wind, containing several dozen needles.
"You idiot," came Asuka's voice from seemingly everywhere, "Sound carries on the wind, a little ventriloquism and I can make it sound like I'm where I'm not. So, right now you can't trust your ears. Oh my!"
A few of the needles, slightly more precise in their placement, cut several pieces of tape, causing the smoke bombs they contained to drop to the ground and burst, releasing a good deal of thick smoke into the room. The smoke contained a strong irritant, it didn't just block vision, but it irritated the eyes. Extended exposure would even cause blindness. Naturally it wasn't too pleasant to inhale either.
Asuka, a safe distance away and wearing goggles, diddled away on her cellphone, sending text messages to: Divine, Blessed, and Holy. -
Blade's cut met air as Shinji was pulled to safety next to Asuka.
"I knew it," Asuka's eyes narrowed at the traitor, "Whenever there's a weapon involved, I always go into a job with a backup plan in case...this happens."
She drew her sword, which had begun pulsating in the presence of the other blade.
"Rensai feeds on otherworldly energy, making him exceptionally useful against the Circle and Pantheon, but should also prove to be a match for that blade."
The wind began to blow, to howl.... -

"Do not mock my combat prowess," Asuka said coldly, "I am far more competent than you give me credit for. I said before that revealing our identities to anyone regardless of memory altering substances would be a bad idea. Naturally, I elected to stay out of this conflict unless absolutely necessary. After all, the job is to acquire the item, not defeat her."
Asuka grabbed Ms. Liberty and the girl, carrying them both with the aide of some Wind Chi to a car she had waiting outside. She drove the car some distance away and, driving about 30 MPH, rapidly swapped herself for Liberty in the driver's seat and bailed out.
The crash was carefully executed by Asuka so as to not severely injure either woman, but to also give a reasonable explanation for any cuts or bruises they may have received. -
(OOC: Alright i'm back...if you wanna know why i was gone so long PM me or read the millenium arena thread...why do i get all these forced hiatus when the action starts?!?!)
Asuka walked from behind a corner. Despite her mouth being covered by a long purple scarf, the others could tell she was annoyed.
"You had her INGEST the poison? AND you fought her openly? You do realize someone can just give her a laxative and press the back of her throat and most of the poison is ejected! I guess I'll have to use it..."
Asuka pulled out a jewel, shaped like a magatama, and chanted an incantation. With a puff of smoke, the amulet changed to a mirror image of the one she formerly wore around her neck. She continued chanting and scribing words with her aura that flowed into the pendant.
"So long as she touches this, she won't be able to remember you," Asuka said as she put the pendant around her neck. -

I'll be fine, i should be back after thursday.

Nomura, having heard the rules, deduced easily that her enemy would have to come to her one way or another.
Unconcerned with the light, she reached into her mechanical arm and pulled out a series of drones which took to the air around her.
There were about twelve of them, each one programmed to fly in the path of oncoming attacks and emit a powerful shield before exploding.
Since she wanted her enemy to come to her, she also activated her arm's disassembly function, which doubled as a high energy signature and increased the strength of her arm to just under the maximum. She didn't favor fighting hand-to-hand, however, and instead released a few more drones that buried themselves into the ground around her. Diggers, she called them. The floating suicidal ones were Yojimbo. -
(OOC: It's spelled Reishi btw, like the mushroom)
"Te-chan?" Annette called over her comm device between her gladiators.
"Yes m'lady?!" Nomura Tetsuko replied excitedly.
"You're entering the next match. I give you permission to use your 'good' arm," Annette ordered.
"YES MA'AM!" Tetsuko replied eagerly.
Shortly, in the official arena, a short girl with a green right eye and red left eye behind large glasses and her hair in pig tails, as well as a large robotic right arm and a painful looking taser sheathed on her waist, stepped into the arena.
When the mecha hit the ground, Kamui disappeared in a bright light, and Reishi left the arena.
"Nomura's battle is next," a voice from behind her in the hallway said.
Reishi turned and saw Igarashii Sousuke, perhaps the only fighter on Annette's team that was more dangerous than herself.
"Should be interestin'," Reishi grinned, "The little one doesn't fight like we do..."
