My heart just sang with utter joy.
Although, if other people don't wanna do something like that it's totally okay. I made a new toon anyway, and I'm very close to getting his storyarc. (The reason why I had a hard time before was because I got the technology and science origins mixed up. I didn't know science origin leads you straight to Dr. V until recently).

But this whole gathering idea sounds awesome. Very relevant to my interests. I'll definitely check in on this.

On another note i read some talk of the hero con coming up this year. I have been to every single one of em so far and i just aquired the registration for this one. Would be cool to meet up with you and some of the other artists that are going. Just look for Babs, he and i seem to get into long talks and hang around a lot during these things lol.
    Aww, thank you!
Ohh, awesome! I'd love to meet you.
I'm trying to find people I know online on CoH so we can greet each other at the con. I've even gone as far as asking people in my teams if they're going... So far, all of them said no.

And an update! Except this time I decided to draw for myself... I don't believe I do that enough.

I made an empath defender today. I've always wanted to create one. His name is Doctor Brainbleed! He looks kind of scary but he's really quite nice. front back

I also decided to upgrade Cashoo's costume because I realized that I hadn't changed it since level...14 or something (31 now). I thought it looked kinda cool.

She's supposed to be floating or something. If it looks like she's trying to walk, I'm sorry. That would be a little uncomfortable.

Still not sure who I will draw next. lol.
Finally, I'm legal in two days. Hallelujah.
  3. Oh finally, it's about time! Congratulations!
  4. Thanks for the comments! I dunno who I'm gonna draw next... *hasn't looked yet*
    Glad you like it, Maynia!

ChristopherRobin • Yeah, VexXxa also has the same problem. Not sure what's going on.
  5. Meat factory wouldn't bother me that much, but manure....augh. I'll make sure to steer clear of Greeley then!

    just a bust for Maynia:

And something non-COH, Freaky Fred from Courage the Cowardly Dog (Which is an amazing show, too), translated into my style.

Thanks for the info! It's quite interesting. I feel so embarrassed though, it would be an easy fix if I hadn't flattened all the layers on the original file.

Go as a Meat Doctor! LOL
LOL, I've heard it's very boring there, especially in comparison to CA. However, I've also heard it's very beautiful there.

I was actually contemplating going as a meat doctor, but I'm not a big fan of bald caps (and no way would I shave my head ), and I don't have the time, money, or materials for the tools coming from behind her. I'm not even sure if I'll be able to make the skull/spine/ribcage part for the Vahzilok surgeon. I'm already spending a huge amount on the ticket and hotel alone!

I'll be in Colorado Springs. What is so terrible about this Greeley you speak of?

Ohh, that's so cool! It's great seeing people get creative, even if it's just a little bit.

(Minor Nitpick..... the Flag in Masked Shrike's piece (as great a piece as it is) is upside-down. The field of blue should always be at the top lefthand side whenever the flag is displayed.)
Really? I never knew there was a "rule"...

    Pyro • That's cool

Oh, awesome! I definitely would love to meet you.
I'll be going dressed up as a Vahzilok surgeon (er, a short, cute, female version ). Are you cosplaying?

Finally, some content! Commission for The Masked Shrike. Tried to tie in a little patriotism by adding the American flag in the background.

And speed-paint-sketch thing of Dr. Vahzilok (again ).
  9. Wooo, awesome! Congrats Jophiel, I'll make your picture sexy!

It is indeed in San Jose.

I wanted to go this year since I couldnt make it last year (I'm from Sacramento so it was only a hop, skip and a jump away), but I've found myself 3000miles farther away than I was last year, so no such luck.
Haha, yeah, that's where I found it (I rarely go outside of the Screenshots and Fan Creations forum, I should do that more often...). I was just...shocked and a bit in disbelief when I saw that it takes place where I live!
    Aw, that's sad to hear.

I won't be going to HeroCon though. I went to the first one when it was at Dave&Busters at the Great Mall and it was fun. But now that it costs 80 dollars, there's no way I can afford it. I mean, FanimeCon costs around 50-60 and that's 3-4 days long. I can't imagine how HeroCon could possibly serve up enough interesting things to make it worth the money, especially when it's only 2 days.

I love this game, but unless they're going to try and compete with ComicCon or SuperCon for generic superhero comic stuffs, I can't see them having the content to make it worth the price.
    Hooray for San Jose!
I assume it was cheaper the first time? I also questioned the price...
You have a very good point. Although I find it a bit much, it's very worth it for me and my RL CoX friends, since it'll be the last time we'll be able to nerd out together in person for a while, as I am moving in December.
It's too bad that you won't be going, though!
  11. Haha, thanks guys, I'm glad you understand.

Sheesh Caemgen, ordering all those pictures like that. Crackin' the whip aren't you? Good luck with the contest btw.

Oh, and I know this is a little OT...but I just found out about the Hero Con? Is it really in San Jose? My heart just skipped a beat a little.... I live in San Jose! This feels too good to be true! I'm like, so excited right now. ksjdhglgjhfd
    Is anyone else here going?
  12. Err, sorry for the double post...

I won't be doing freebies for a little while because I have to concentrate on my commissions. I've realized how many I've gotten in so little time, so those need to receive most of my attention right now. I'll probably post the commissions here when finished, especially the CoX ones. So, just hold on a wee bit!
  13. I'm so glad you like it, ShadowWings!

Wesker is sooo awesome (and hot).
  14. OH GOD NOO THIS THREAD AHHH

I didnt use the img codes because they be photobucket. But the red marks above the patch and below is supped to be a scar.

Think of him as Albert Wesker. His experession/demeanor is calm, collected, and such. So a face with no emotions would work for the costume.
Eurgh I kind of gave him a chill smile, hope you don't mind!

I think I'm gonna do one of Maynia's characters next. :>
  15. I think critiques should really only be given at the artist's discretion. If the artist doesn't want critiques, well, then that's their loss.
I don't get caught up in what kind of person is more fit to give a "good critique." That doesn't really matter. When you ask for critiques, you better expect anyone, whether it be Joe off the street or someone who has been in the art business for it a while. They both probably have something interesting to say. My dad knows diddly-squat about art, but he can still pinpoint things that are still important. He sees it from a regular Joe's point of view. A consumer's point of view. In the end, it all really comes down to who the artist is trying to please.

I'll be quite honest. I'm an artist that never asks for critiques (but at the same time, I don't discourage it). I really don't like getting them. And personally, I'm actually marginally satisfied with my own work. I know there are flaws and I can easily pick them out in my pictures, but I don't really care. I enjoy doing what I love to do, and I improve my skills and polish my style at my own pace. I suppose I'm just one of those people that hates be taught by someone else. I like learning things on my own, even if it is the hard way.
Most of the time, I already know of the flaws that people critique to me. I've only gotten 3-4 good critiques during my whole time of drawing, and they were of things that I was never aware of at the time (and boy, did they help me!).

I'd also really like to direct anyone here to this little journal entry about critiques, written by a friend of mine. She does the greatest critiques I have ever seen. She makes a very good point about how all critiques should be in 'good faith.' click.

Oh, and praise parades are just dumb. People who feed off them and take them seriously are wasting their poor time. In my time of traveling the Internets, I have gotten a few little praise groups that suck up to me and treat me like I'm some goddess. It's ridiculous. It's silly. I just roll my eyes.
  16. Haha, nice little game you played there! That was fun.

And I love these little buttons you're making! They're so nice! And thank you for making the anchor ones, they're so cute!

I also really love your Pyro Nympho button. It looks great with the yellow/red on the rim.

Haha, I didn't post it because I found it boring. Also, when I finished it, I found out the character was happy and outgoing, and I somehow initially came to the conclusion that she was a more serious-type of person.

With such a dark character, you need to put a little more effort into it, make sure you get a lighter background.

I for instance go into one of my bases that has a light background, I make sure that the light falls on the side that I want to show off, then rotate the character and my camera to get the new angle with the lighting on it.
Actually, they're fine. The character isn't all that detailed so I can easily know what she's wearing.
But...I think it may be just because my Mac monitor is lighter/brighter than most other monitors.
  18. You already know how much I love this. Thanks so much, again! I'm so glad you enjoyed doing it. It looks fabulous!
  19. GAH! I made a whole reply, accidentally hit backspace when the text box wasn't selected, and it brought me to the previous page. I went back but my reply wasn't saved. aaaaagh.

Jophiel - Glad you like it!

Suichiro - Ohh thanks for telling me that! You probably already had that in your description, but I musta skipped over it or something. My deepest apologies. I'll make sure to give her green eyes in the commission! And I'm glad you like the headshot!

Ghost - OMG, those are so awesome! Thanks for sending them, too! I think I may just use them.

PowerStream - Aw thanks! I hope I don't burn out either. I really enjoy drawing for this community, and it's a breath of fresh air to draw costumed heroes, which are so different than most requests I get. It's very nice.
Your son is a lucky one

    Oathbound - Haha, true. Thanks.

    Dr_HR - Muahaha. ;3

Totally not CoH, but I feel bad if I don't post art. This is a gift for a friend of mine, whose pirate OC I had intended to draw for over a year.
  20. Ack, sorry again for another late post. This month has been really rough for me, not to mention that I just got out of an art block. Those are quite annoying.

    Jophiel:

And, since you're commissioning me, I just decided to do a headshot for this. At least it's good practice for the commission I will be doing! Suichiro:

I think, from now on, I'll just be doing stuff like the above, except with background colors and such. It's getting to be too much work for me to do the more complex ones. What's the point of offering them as commissions if y'all can just get them for free? I hope that's not a problem! Don't hate me!

    Non-CoH...
Someone on DA told me that I should do a zombie ninja. So I did! I actually quite like him, but I'm still trying to think of a good name.
  21. Pirate Cashoo

    Buy This

Good luck with this! Although it doesn't seem like you need it, haha.

I'm contemplating entering...none of my toons are all that pin-upey, except for the main Pirate Cashoo (I have a million different versions of her, it's crazy), who you have already drawn. I'll PM/note you if I decide to apply.

    Have fun with this!
  22. Forgive and forget.

In other news, I will be doing Jophiel and Suichiro's toons next!

Oh and if anyone does implement a blinky avatar gender telling-thing for forums make out the royalty check to Christopher R...

Ironically Cashoo's avatar here is a guy even though she is a girl and both your avatars here and
on DA are female even though your a guy so I guess mixups are bound to happen... if you don't mind
my asking BW what is the story behind your avatars?

P.S. Hey Cashoo I see your DA avatar is one of your mains in CoX but what's the story behind your CoH forum
avatar... a favorite piece you did... or something more?
I've also noticed the lack of gender option on this forum...

Like Battlewraith already said, my CoH avatar is the G-Man from the Half-Life series. Really awesome -- and creepy -- character!
My CoH character is actually based on my original character (also my DA icon), not the opposite.

Okay, done hijacking the thread. My deepest apologies!
  24. I'm very happy you like yours, Vivace!

On another note, it seems like some people are reposting their requests. I do ask to please not do that! It makes going through the requests a little confusing. I make sure to look over every request. I may or may not do each one. I only choose the ones I enjoy the most.

Bah, I haven't been visiting the forums much lately. Looks like I'm very late into catching this thread.

But if you're still looking for more characters to draw, I'd like to put up my main character, Shadowrush:

Oh and another pic is his wallpaper in my signature.

He's a kind of mysterious fellow. He belongs to a family line, whose genes give one child every other generation amazing abilities. He's an expert martial artist and has superhuman reflexes and agility. He also has some minor enhanced physical attributes overall: minor super strength, speed and toughness. He also has the ability to jump a short building in a single bound. He also has a few gadgets on hand: a medkit, flashlight, his trusty high-tech gauntlet that helps deflect lethal attacks from blades and such, which also contains his communications and teleportation devices, and he also has a few different kinds of shurikens.

Shadowrush is a dark-brooding hero at times, looking over the city at some rooftop. He knows it's kind of cliche, but he doesn't care, he loves doing it. But he also has a lighter side to him and would sometimes throw out a witty remark during a fight.

I know you're probably filled with requests with the amazing art you've posted, but I just had to try and hopefully Shadowrush will get picked someday.
I just gotta say, I really love this toon!
