Well, I am ery new to this game and totally fallen in love with it. I have just done a second build of my original fire/fire blaster - I messed up picking flight at lvl6 and had some friends starting so I re-rolled her.
I find as long as you don't rush in and pick on one target at a time you can stay alive relatively well. The trick is I think is to not try and be a 'Hero' (groan) I have been teaming with an Electric/traps player, and we are very effective together, especially when it gets hairy and lay down the Healing Pyramid thingy. We both levelled up quickly and don't often have to back down from a fight but... if all else does fail......leg it! -
Quote:Funny you should say that i'm on my way there now Aha!Yep, you can get your name back, as long as you delete the old toon first.
If you do decide to remake the character, try joining a "sewer team." When you get to Atlas, just broadcast "looking for a sewer team" and hopefully any forming teams will scoop you up. You and 7 other friendly strangers will then hammer your way into the darkest depths of the sewers, and probably end up between level 6 and 10 in an hour or less.
Its a nice quick way to break in your character, make some friends, and ask some more experienced players all kinds of questions.
Sidekicking is much simpler these days. Everyone on the team matches level to the person at the top of the team roster (usually the leader.) Doesn't matter if you're 1 or 50. People that sidekick down usually have the easier time- they keep their powers from the new level +5. So if a 50 sidekicks to a 20 team, they would fight as a 20, but have access to the powers they have up to level 25.
And by the way, welcome to the game!
Thanks for your help, and the welcome!
Keep yer eye's peeled for Ignition Girl on your travels!

Quote:How'd you add a third colour? It only gives two colour options on character creation!Go here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=204518
Offhand, I would say that you just have too much going on. The whole costume is a little too busy, and gives too much for the eyes to focus on. Do I want to look at the eyes? The face? The wings? The chestpiece? The belt? Etc. It isn't really a cohesive unit. Knock out a couple of the more opulent parts, and maybe add a third color (I'm a nut for tri-color costumes).
You could always send me the costume file and let me work some magic too. I'm always willing to fiddle around with things. -
I re-rolled and got to level 6 in no time with help from my pals, it is Sooooo good to fly high above the city, I think I have become addicted to his game...like I didn't see that coming!

Well now I am torn, do I re-build now and level with my pals or get one more level and have fun that way?
If I deltee and re-create her will I be able to use the same name as before?
Also if someone could tell me about the sidekicking system I would appreciate it as not played in any teams yet and be good for me to know whats what when my mates log tonight! -
Quote:FAIL.......... Oh well, one re-spec comin' up...and I was so closeReally? It should be a yellow icon with a shield on it. Are you certain you really did take it, and didn't choose it and then accidentally overwrite it with a different power during level up? Once you choose it from the Flight pool, you do have to confirm that yes, you want that power, and not one of your primaries or secondaries - after you choose a pool power, it takes you back to the power selection screen, where you can either confirm the power choice or choose a different power. I know that I have on occasion not paid attention and chosen a different power by mistake.

Quote:That's the weird thing...I took Hover and am now level 7 approaching 8, but I can't for the life of me see it in my Powers list or work out how to do it?you could always just hover above everything and drop down on the contact. may take a while but it will be safe.
I've stared and stared at every option I can find but still can't work out how to actually hover! -
Well, Ignition Girl is going well, but I now need some friends. I cannot get through the park to the East in order to speak with the Leiutenant. That park is waaaaaaay dangerous and I don't even want to contemplate going through there alone again, nightmare!
I have some people downloading as we speak to assist....
...really enjoying this game, can't believe I only just discovered it! -
Yeah you're correct in betting I am Fire/Fire all the way. I always like Pyro from X-Men and a big fan of female Supers...so I created...
Ignition Girl
I took Hover. The Moves/Powers you suggested seem not my character style, I have a lot of ranged and high damage firebalss and I have flare at a ridiculous Damage and Recharge that it is my MAIN weapon.
Well, thankyou guys you have been a great help. I think I would of like the Flight just for flying around but having played a grounded Blaster for a few hours, I am glad I picked hover....can't wait for lvl 14!! -
OK well I got to level six, been chasing baddies all over town and frying 'em to a crisp! Am I right in assuming that even though I have taken Hover, I still cannot fly until level 14?
-
Quote:At level 6 you have the option to open power pools which flight is in one of them. So at either level6,8,10 or 12 take hover or air supiority then at level 14 you will have the option to take fly.
Oh brilliant thanks very much! Which is best, Hover or Air supiority? -
Does anyone know if/how this is possible? To make a Flying Fire Blaster?
Forgive my ignorance (lol n00b) I cannot find where to add the flying skill!
