Yeah, it was a decent turn out with 3 full teams: 50s w/ sks, low 20s w/ teen sks, and super lowbies.
Infinity will be good for me since that is where my lvl 30 something Ice/Ice Tank, Frost Heaves, was transferred before they offered additional slots. -
Thank you, Guardian, for the wonderful hospitality.
I think I can speak for all of the Tanker Tuesday contributors when I say "We hope everybody had a good time, and will continue the TTTradition in whatever way Guardian chooses."
It's really as easy as posting the Event in your home server forums, and telling everyone you know about it, then organizing teams with similar level tanks to tackle whatever challenges they decide to take on, be it TF, trial, missions, PvP, whatever. Anybody, and everybody can be an organizer, you just have to step up when needed.
That's how Tanker Tuesday has lasted for 4+ years. When one Tank wasn't able to make it to help organize, another Tank would take his/her place. -
We only have a Tanker Tuesday SG on Champion which was made mostly so the non-Champion Tankers who came to TTs would have one.
We're pretty much leaving it up to the the home server tanks if they want to continue Tanker Tuesday's on their server.
TONIGHT'S Tanker Tuesday Tour is on Guardian at 9pm est! -
That must have been the 3 year anniversary which was Oct 2007.
-
Thanks for the HBDs all! You guys/gals are awesome!
-
Okay, TTT '09 will be pulling into Guardian server this Tuesday at 9pm in King's Row near the IP gate.
Hope to see some champion tanks there for the fun. -
Ok, Tuesday May 19th is TTT: Guardian edition, so be there or be squishy.
Same deal as the Freedom one, but on Guardian.
Hope to see you all there. -
Sorry about that. I tried to edit the post from last month to apply to this month's TTT while watching the Bruins' game, but I missed changing the date. It's fixed now.
Give me a break, it's my Birthday, and my first gift was another heartbreaking B's overtime loss ending their season -
Hello, Guardian server.
Most(if not all) of you probably don't know me, but you may have heard about Tanker Tuesdays being held on Champion. You may have been to the 3 year anniversary which gathered 500+ Tanks on Champion with some Dev appearances, and numerous contests for prizes, or seen that it won the 2006 Favorite Player-run Event award. Or not. It doesn't matter.
I'm just one of the Tanks that have attended, and helped run it when needed every first Tuesday for 54 straight months.
Well, to make a long story short, we thought it would be fun to hold some Tanker Tuesdays on the other servers. One a month, on the 3rd Tuesday (regular TT is 1st Tuesday on Champion) going in alphabetical order.
**********Important part**********
So, all you Tank lovers please meet up on the wall near the Independence Port Gate in Kings Row Tuesday, May 19th at 9 pm est where we will split into teams to have some all-tanker fun.
********** end important part**********
All levels, and powersets are welcome, as long as you are a Tank.
The only requirement is that you have fun, and take the initiative to attain it. Any Guardian Tanks who want to step up, and co-host/lead a team, please do. Just show up, and let us know. The more the merrier. No signup is necessary.
If you want to run a TF, let us know so we can see if others would like to join you, and we'll try to put a team together. We've completed pretty much every TF in the game with an all-Tank team, including STF, and ITF (results may vary ).
We usually try to form the TFs before normal mission teams.
To assist in forming teams, we ask that you hold up the numbers:
1 for levels 1-10
2 for levels 11-20
3 for levels 21-30
4 for levels 31-40
5 for levels 41-50
with the Judge emote (i.e. /em score 10) while standing on the wall. Once picked for a team, please join your team off the wall. It also helps if Tanks with like numbers stand close to each other on the wall.
I might even try to run a Tanking 101 team. For this, please hold up a 10 while on the wall.
I also ask that you join the TankHQ channel(/chanjoin TankHQ) for the event, or longer if you want, especially if you are late. Please let us know through the channel, and we'll do our best to put you on an appropriate team.
If you'd like to learn a little about the history of Tanker Tuesday, while having a heck of a lot o' fun, please run MA arc "Tanker Tuesday: Night of 1,000 Tanks" by AceMACE. Arc#1755
Thanks for listening, and I hope to see all you Guardian Tanks on the KR wall on Tuesday for a smashing good time, Tanker style.
edit: sorry, wrong date. May 19th! -
What's there to be afraid of? We're frickin' Tanks!
-
Thanks Ace, and thanks for coming out Tanks.
Next stop on the Tour is Guardian May 19th(3rd Tuesday) after the usual Champion TT on May 5th. -
Thanks to all the Champion Tanks that helped spread the Tanker Tuesday Lifestyle to Freedom, and yes, it is a Lifestyle choice(make up your own definition for that).
May 19th will be on Guardian, after Tanko de Mayo on Champion, of course! Hope to see you there. -
Hope to see all you Champion Tanks on Freedom tonight to represent Tanker Tuesday. Let's show them some respect, and deliver a great TT experience.
-
This is tonight. Hope to see you all there.
-
Okay, I posted this event in the Freedom, Player event, and Champion forums, so there's no stopping it now.
TTT is a go for next week. -
Well, we've decided to get the ball rolling on this. Same TT, different Tuesday, different server.
We kick it off on Freedom server, next Tues, at 9 pm est in Kings Row near IP gate.
Tell your Freedom friends, dust off your ancient Freedom Tanks you forgot you had, or hit the costume creator cuz it's on like Donkey Kong.
Some more details here.
Any and all support appreciated, especially people to lead teams, and show up early to zone broadcast.
Thanks.
the Tanker Tuesday Society for the Preservation of Smash(yes, we are taking it back from the brutes!) -
Okay, so how should this be advertised? It should probably be posted in the Player Events, Tanker, Champion, and the server the TTTour is gonna be on which is Freedom.
I'm not an expert on forum rules, but I have a feeling posting the same post in different areas is against them.
Any advice?
I'd also like to have a few volunteers show up maybe an hour early(8 pm est) to broadcast in the server's zones.
There doesn't have to be any formal contract. You can just show up early, say "hi" on our channel TankHQ, and start spreading the word.
Also, any Freedom Tanker peeps who'd like to co-host this event, you're all welcome. Also, speak up if you want to lead a all-Tank TF at the event. We try to put those together first.
I was also thinking that during the Wall team picking, it would be easier if the Tanks with the same number held up would stand near each other.
I also thought maybe we could add a number 0 to the list for folks that are new to Tanks, and might want to take a Intro to Tanking 101.
Same TTtime(except 2 weeks later), same TTplace(except different server) see sig -

Well, I'm not really a celebrity, but Pep is in the Tanker Tuesday: Night of 1,000 Tanks mission by AceMACE.

You also get to fight some of Champion's finest Tanks, and some info about the event, which will be going on Tour this summer to a server near you the 3rd Tuesday of every month. -
Ok, it looks like the consensus is to have TT on champion on the first Tuesday, and the TT Tour happen on the 3rd Tuesday, so we could try to have TT on Freedom next week on the 21st, or wait until May.
The other question is should we try to have the Tour on 2 servers each 3rd Tuesday to try to get every server by the TT 5th Anniversary in October, or just go with 1.
I vote for just one, because I don't want to split up our resources even though it would be nice to have had at least 1 TT on each server before the Aniversary.
What say the Tanks? -
[ QUOTE ]
Fictional scenario: There's two big SGs on your server who contain literally hundreds of players and constantly run SG and community events. The leader of SG A constantly brags about their achievements and actively seeks recognition for their deeds while the leader of SG B just goes about their job.
[/ QUOTE ]
You've heard of Stryke Force?
Sorry, I couldn't resist. -
[ QUOTE ]
Thats basically what kiloton said. He just used more words.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, you are speaking of posts from the Tanker Tuesday Tour thread I started in the Tanker forums. (I read this one first when I cam home from work, and thought you may have grossly misconstrued one of my posts from this thread. my bad. sorry.)
I don't think Kilo meant TT wouldn't be special(or whatever it is) anymore, just that the streak would be over.
I can understand feeling this way. My family has many little traditions that we do on holidays that would be missed if we didn't do them.
The practical side of wanting to keep TT on champion is to satisfy the players that already made the effort to make a new Tank on Champion, especially ones from other servers, and people without the time to keep making new characters. Those people may even be NON-ALTAHOLICS.I've never met one, but I've heard they exist.

[ QUOTE ]
Everything you mentioned there has already been covered.
Repeatedly.
And to great extent.
In fact the only people to repeat themselves are the ones saying "we deserve a plaque!"
[/ QUOTE ]
I think the point of Panthershade's post was to try to stop the back, and forth of the SAME Pro, and Con posters who will never agree.
I'm not gonna say their aren't any posters on the Pro side that have repeated themselves, but answer me this: How many posts have Memphis_ Bill, and you yourself made in this thread repeating basically the same thing: TT should not get a plaque?
Opinions have been duly noted, please allow others to weigh in on the same topic without turning this thread into 100 pages of the same posters saying the same things.
[ QUOTE ]
But, its seems obvious that whenever someone tries to spread out to other servers to make TT more game wide, the majority say "O gee, I dunno" "I don't want to make a new lowbie tank on another server" and my persoanl favorite "If TT leaves champion on the first tuesday of the month it's streak will be broken and not special anymore".
[/ QUOTE ]
Who said that last quote? I must have missed it. -
I don't want to have to retype my whole post from the 5 yr plaque thread, but I'll just say 4 words:
Traveling Tanker Tuesday Tour
Twice The T's!
There's Three more!
Two More!
One More!
ThaT's Ten T's Total! ....er sixteen. Incredible!
I propose holding TT on a different server each month, going alphabetically. It'll be kinda like a traveling circus with smash.
We can do the usual forums event posts, with the addition of this months server forums, plus whoever wants to can show up early, and do some guerrilla broadcasting in that servers zones to try to get some added interest.
Alternately, we could have a Home, and Away Team where whoever wants to can stay on Champion.
I'd like to keep everyone together though, even if it means having to roll up newbie tanks on the other servers, since I'd rather have one big gathering instead of lots of little ones split up by servers. I think it gives a better sense of comradery, and let's you meet more of your fellow Tank enthusiasts, and gives a better selection for forming teams.
Since TT is really run like an anarchist collective where there really aren't any leaders, and everybody has a vote, I want to put this out to my fellow, and possible future Tanker Tuesday attendees.
Would you like to go on Tour?
Would you like to pitch in, whether as a roadie who helps broadcast in zones, as a performer who puts a team together and guides it wherever your team's whims take you, or even an audience member who has a blast smashing stuff?
If you decide to attend even just one TT, you are part of it, and you can do as much, or as little as you want.
Thanks for listening.
-Pep -
You know, I've been thinking, maybe we should take Tanker Tuesday on Tour.
A different server every month. Same core participants. A little guerrilla advertising to swell our ranks an hour before the event in the zones added to the usual forums posts warning participants to hit the character creator.
Not a separate TT on every server, but a traveling Tank circus!
So what if some of us have to make some new lowbies. I'm all out of slots on Champion anyways, and I have Pep Rally reserved on most of the servers anyways.
I'm sure we have representatives from most of the servers already attending on Champion anyways who could co host the event.
I think the reason TT hasn't been able to spread to other servers is we all like to be in one place together where we can meet others of like interest. You don't really get that opportunity when we have little gatherings separated by servers.
I don't know, just some random thoughts I had, and I didn't really know where to put them since we don't really have any real organization at TT, and alot of the participants seem to be reading this thread. Sorry for the Tangent.
