TTTour is going alphabetically down the server list.

We have them on the 3rd Tuesday every month at the normal meeting spot in Kings Row near the IP gate at 9 pm est.

This month is Pinnacle on Sept. 15th

    So Protector(oct), Triumph(nov), Victory(dec), Virtue(jan)

There may be plans to have a TTTour: reloaded on one of the servers we already toured(which includes guardian) on the 4th, or 5th Tuesdays this month, so stay tuned.
  2. It's only a matter of Time before we complete Kahn.

We tried it the day the TF went live, and cruised through it until the final fight.

We just didn't have the DPS to get through his unstoppable. Not a surprise since alot of the mixed teams I've been on failed to overcome it as well.

Kahn would be a TF we'd have to plan to get some nukes before hand to complete, but it's not as if it's very long outside of the final fight.

TONIGHT IS TTTOUR: RELOADED ON JUSTICE!!!

9 PM EST IN KINGS ROW NEAR IP GATE

    BE THERE OR BE SQUISHY!
  3. bumpity bump bump

Tonight we'll be reloading the Tanker Tuesday Tour on Justice.

HEAR YE HEAR YE! BRING OUT YOUR TANKS! BRING OUT YOUR TANKS!

Bring them to Kings Row near the IP Gate at 9 pm est for some All Tanker fun.

Trials, TFs, missions, what have you. You want to do something with an all-tanker team, let us know, we'll put it to vote, and if we have the Tanks, we'll do it.

I'll be subbing for NuclearMedicine as team captain, but if anyone wants to run a team, or whatever, let me know at the event. Participation always helps.

    Hope to see you there

Not only is the community in CO non-existent (thank God for old CoH friends playing the game), the game mechanics to allow for teaming was designed by a retard.

When you try to "share" a mission in that game that are so many excuses why you can't.

    - Sorry, That person already has this mission.

    - Sorry, That person is too far.

    - Sorry, that person is wearing purple.

I thank God this game has a navigation screen were I can pick a mission from any of my team member and set it in the Nav for all to see. CO's teaming mechanics is beyond frustrating.
Yeah, thank god for the COH folks that play over there. It is very difficult to find a team, and the ones that I've joined outside of our SG, MEGAFORCE, nobody talks. I say 'hi', and usually I get nothin'.

I totally agree on the Teaming interface. It's dumb.

Another thing that's been frustrating me is some targeting issues. Sometimes I click on a target, then go to click my attack only to have my target become unhighlighted. I also never know when my Toggle energy-building attack will decide to be 'off' or 'on' when I click it.

CO does have some cool things, and can be pretty fun. Alot of the powers are pretty kick ***, but I just don't get the "good Teamwork" feeling like I do in CoH. Not having character classes just makes everyone a mixed bag of powers. It's kinda nice for character customization, and soloing, but it really doesn't seem to promote teaming, or teamwork.

This is actually good for me because it makes the games very different, and should keep both games fresh.

I did go ahead and buy a CO lifetime subscription because I told myself I don't want to be paying for 2 online games at the same time. The $200 is like the cost of 20 movies, and 20 movies is 40 hours of entertainment, so if I play CO only 40 hours than I've got my money's worth. This is how I rationalized it anyways....

thus I'm only paying CoH subscription fees

Now if only COH had lifetime subs...
  5. Hey all, September is here, and with 5 Tuesdays, there's plenty of time for some all-tanker fun.

    This month we have:

    1) Tanker Tuesday Classic : Champion server on 9/1

    2)TTTour Reloaded: Justice on 9/8

    3)TTTour : Pinnacle on 9/15

and that leaves 2 more Tuesdays open.

I believe there was a request for another TTTour: Reloaded, but I'd like to confirm that, so make them requests here. Remember, if you request it, you're expected to get the word out to your friends, and even enemies, basically anyone you see to bring their Tank on down to Kings Row near the IP Gate at 9 pm EST.

Next month marks the 60th!!!! straight month of Tanker Tuesdays on Champion!!! Woohooo! I can't believe it's been 5 years already! I'm not sure if there will be an event, or not. If nothing is planned, maybe we'll have a parade, or something. Anyways, stay tuned.
  6. This isn't exactly what you're looking for, but it might help anyways.

I wanted to get as many Axe attacks as I could, well slotted, and still hit the soft cap with my Axe/Shield so this is what I did.

It's a nice solid build which I found fun. It has some kinda expensive sets like Obliteration, Mako's Bite, Touch of Death, and Scirroco's, but not insanely expensive.

If you are patient, and shrewd, you can save some money. I put in some low bids when I hit lvl 20, and had gotten most of them by the time I hit lvl 32, when I respec'd into this build.

Obliterations were the hardest to get, and it took a few levels after that to finally get a couple of those.

    Good Luck

  7. Wow, where did the summer go? Well, there's no better way to smash those blues away (cuz Tanks burn through alot of endurance *rim shot*)than some good olde-fashioned melee mayhem, and September has 5, count 'em 5, Tuesdays!

We start off with Tanker Tuesday Classic on Champion, September 1st, then move on to Justice for a Tanker Tuesday Tour: Reloaded (how many reloads does it take until it's just a plain TT?) on the 8th, followed by the TTTour destination of Pinnacle on the 15th.

We gather at 9pm est near the IP gate inside Kings Row as usual.

I hope to see all you Tanker enthusiasts there, and stay tuned for news of maybe even more TTs on the 22nd, and 29th.

  8. Pinnacle is next! Sept 15th!

We did a TT mothership raid some months ago on Champion. We had 3 full teams, and it went really well. We couldn't keep it just tanks, though, since it's an open zone, and some non-tanks did join the fight as well.

If enough 35+ tanks show up that want to do a raid, then go for it!

My highest freedom tank is lvl 14, so I won't be able to join in, but I'm sure I'll find something to do.
  10. Looks like it's time to dust off another of my Pep clones.

I'll very much try my hardest to be there.

Oh, and don't forget to /chanjoin TankHQ to help communicate on TTs, and to keep track of future TT events in the MOTD, or just talk about tanky stuff.
  11. Thanks for the hospitality, Liberty. We fielded a 8 tank level 30+ Manticore team(finished with 6 seconds to spare on the 2 hr timer), and a 20- team that did some AE, and Faultline missions I believe.

If anyone missed this event, and would like to attend future Tanker Tuesdays please join the TankHQ channel (/chanjoin TankHQ) where we will post TT dates, and servers in the MOTD.

We currently have TT:champion on the 1st Tuesday every month, next is Sept 1st. (October will be the 60th TT aka 5 year anniversary)

The TTTour is on the 3rd Tuesdays. Next stop is Pinnacle on Sept 15th

We also have been doing TTTour:Reloaded's on the 2nd, and 4th Tuesdays. September even has a 5th! (Freedom server is next week, Aug 25th)

These are where we try to accommodate requests by people who may have missed, or just want another TT on their server that the tour has already passed by.

Be warned, you will be expected to tell everyone you see about TT so we can have a good turnout, and at least lead one of the teams. You can be the MC/team organizer if you wish.

We always gather on the wall near the IP gate in Kings Row at 9 pm est.

Hopefully I16, and super-sidekicking will come fast to make forming workable teams easier for the organizers. I think I'm finally getting the hang of SK-Tetris, though...

  12. What, like Tankers Anonymous for people hopelessly addicted to playing Tanks?
  13. Tanker month marches on this week as the Tanker Tuesday Tour touches down on Liberty server tomorrow, Aug 18th, at 9 pm est at the usual location, Kings Row near the IP gate.

Next week, on Aug 25th, there will be a TTTour: Reloaded on Freedom server. Usual time and place.

Hope to see you all there.

    -Pep
  14. Heeeeellooooo, Cleveland!...er, I mean Liberty server.

Most(if not all) of you probably don't know me, but you may have heard about Tanker Tuesdays being held on Champion. You may have been to the 3 year anniversary which gathered 500+ Tanks on Champion with some Dev appearances, and numerous contests for prizes, or seen that it won the 2006 Favorite Player-run Event award. Or not. It doesn't matter.

I'm just one of the Tanks that have attended, and helped run it when needed every first Tuesday for 58 straight months.

Well, to make a long story short, we thought it would be fun to hold some Tanker Tuesdays on the other servers. One a month, on the 3rd Tuesday (regular TT is 1st Tuesday on Champion) going in alphabetical order.

    **********Important part**********

So, all you Tank lovers please meet up on the wall near the Independence Port Gate in Kings Row Tuesday, Aug. 18th at 9 pm est where we will split into teams to have some all-tanker fun.

    ********** end important part**********

All levels, and powersets are welcome, as long as you are a Tank.

The only requirement is that you have fun, and take the initiative to attain it. Any Liberty Tanks who want to step up, and co-host/lead a team, please do. Just show up, and let us know. The more the merrier. No sign-up is necessary.

If you want to run a TF, let us know so we can see if others would like to join you, and we'll try to put a team together. We've completed pretty much every TF in the game with an all-Tank team, including STF, and ITF (results may vary ).

We usually try to form the TFs before normal mission teams.
I will probably be doing Synapse since my Tank is only lvl 15 on Justice.

To assist in forming teams, we ask that you hold up the numbers:

    1 for levels 1-10
    2 for levels 11-20
    3 for levels 21-30
    4 for levels 31-40
    5 for levels 41-50

with the Judge emote (i.e. /em score 10) while standing on the wall. Once picked for a team, please join your team off the wall. It also helps if Tanks with like numbers stand close to each other on the wall.

I might even try to run a Tanking 101 team. For this, please let me know via tell.

I also ask that you join the TankHQ channel(/chanjoin TankHQ) for the event, or longer if you want, especially if you are late. Please let us know through the channel, and we'll do our best to put you on an appropriate team.

If you'd like to learn a little about the history of Tanker Tuesday, while having a heck of a lot o' fun, please run MA arc "Tanker Tuesday: Night of 1,000 Tanks" by AceMACE. Arc#1755

Thanks for listening, and I hope to see all you Liberty Tanks on the KR wall on Tuesday for a smashing good time, Tanker style. Be there, or be squishy!

    Thanks for listening.

    - @Pep_Rally TTTour coordinator
  15. Tomorrow night the tour hits Liberty server. Hope to see you all there.

Also, there has been rumors of a TTTour :reloaded on Freedom next week on the 25th. So look out for that.

Unfortunately, TTTour already hit Freedom server a few months ago. We've been going alphabetically every 3rd Tuesday with Liberty being this month.

We still have TT on champion the 1st Tuesday every month.

You could try to contact Gorgus, or one of the other good Tanks at "Tanks A Lot" SG on Freedom. They started an all Tank superteam as shown in this thread: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=127889

It seems to have fizzled out because of level differences, but maybe they'd be up for a more Tanker Tuesday style once-a-month gathering. The 4th Tuesday is open.

You really just need someone to advertise the event, and help put teams that work level-wise together.

Let me know if you need any help getting it started.

    Fun Tanks?

You really can't go wrong with any Tanker sets. I'd do what some others suggested, and make a concept for your character, and try to fit the sets to that.

That being said, I'd try Shield/SS. The +damage from Rage + AAO, and the huge AoE carnage of Shield Charge + Foot Stomp just seems insanely fun.

I've played a Invul/SS, Shield/Axe, and Fire/Fire to level 50, as well as playing all the other primary, and secondary sets to at least lvl 30, and they really are all fun.

If you need some build advice, just let me know, or you could ask in the Tanker Forums. There are plenty of folks over there willing to help.
  18. Thanks all for still coming out despite the server issues.

We ended up with 4 teams: 1 mender silos TF team, 2 lvl 50ish w/ sidekicks, and a mid-20s w/ lowbie sk team.

I hope everyone had a good time.

Two months until TT's 5 year anniversary. Anybody got any ideas for special events, etc?
I'd be cool with just having a huge parade, with everyone forming TFs/mothership raid afterwards. Maybe some prizes. Maybe hold the "Tanky awards" as a black tie event. I wonder if you can make a huge auditorium with a stage and seats, and a red carpet leading to it with the base system.
  19. Well, this blows. Server Status says servers are Up, but I still can't get on.
    Will keep trying...
  20. This Tuesday, Aug. 4th, will be TT #58 (2 more months until 5th anniversary) on Champion server, so come on out and get your Tank on. Starts at 9 pm EST in Kings Row on the wall near the IP gate. All Tanker Teams doing Tanky stuff.

The TTTour will pass through Liberty server this month on Aug 18th. same time, and gathering spot.

I also believe the good tanks over on Justice will be putting on another TT on Justice on Aug. 11th.

As always, all levels and powersets welcome, as long as you're a Tank. Hope to see you all there.

    -Pep
  21. or it just seems that way since there will be 3 Tanker Tuesdays this month.

First up is classic TT(#58 i believe) on champion on Aug 4th. Please post any ideas for TFs/trials/arts/crafts/whatever to do in this thread, or just shout it out while we are gathering.

Second, for anyone with tanks on Justice server, there will be a TT on Aug 11th there put together by some folks who were at out TTTour last month.

And finally, the 3rd Tuesday, Aug 18th, the TTTour will be smashing it's way onto Liberty server.

As always, we meet at 9pm EST in King's Row on the wall near the IP gate. Any, and all Tanks are welcome for some all tanker teamage.

Please be ready to hold up a sign signifying your level. (i.e /em score1 )
    1 for lvl 1-10
    2 for level 11-20
    3 for level 21-30
    4 for levels 31-40
    5 for 41+

Hope to see you all there for the monthly Tanker migration!

Well, it sure doesn't stand for Mighty non-alcoholic.

Boy these new boards are weird, and not in a good way IMHO. Oh well.
  23. Just do what Ed is doing in your avatar, and we'll call it even.

Cloak of Fear just seems like too much end cost for what it gives, especially with Oppressive gloom also in the set.

I like getting Taunt by lvl 30 for AVs, but if you aren't going to exemplar to do any sub-lvl 50 content then you could drop Taunt to lvl 50, and maybe scrape a couple slots to put into Fireball for some recharge.

The only IOs would be the -KB ones, and Steadfast +3% def, and res/end.

I only have 1 -KB IO on my lvl 50 Fire/fire tank, and it seems good enough for 95% of the content in game. The only really annoying KB came from Mary on the Katie Hannon TF.
I actually kind of like being knocked back every so often if it doesn't cause team wipes, which hasn't happened yet.

Of course, even a cheap full set IO build would make your tanks performance much better, but it's up to you.

I could work up one if you want to put in the effort at wentworths.

    -Pep
  25. Awesome! This is the initiative I like to see!

I'll try to be there on the wall with my newly level 20 tank(I made almost 5 levels on our TTTour synapse run).
