Still plenty of room on Froggie's team if y'all are lft.

we could, if he'd like us. Frog is the main reason there are all those oh so annoying cute pictures of me and Scimi together
of course it might be nice to use the live event to meet new fellow CoH players in person. I have managed to meet someone new to add to my global friend list the last two years running. I kinda figured that was the point of these cons.

So looking forward to dinner and seeing everyone!

and what's this about a trek exhibit? I may have to drag Scimi to see it. i don't want him to be Trek ignorant or the parents will never agree to him as a son in law.

14. explorer-killer...nice!

So I'm like an evil Dora?
15. Scimi and I are scrapping it together this year to be able to come.
It's been a better year for him than me, thankfully.
We are all for any justice group activities! it's so much fun to get together with everyone. so here goes:

So dinner questions to be answered:
1) You coming?
--Yes
1a) If yes, banquet menu ok?
--Banquet menu is great
1a1) If yes, which banquet items appeal?
--All of them, we aint picky, especially when hungry
1a2) If no, what do you propose we do instead?
--we could always do sushi again??
1b) If no, are you weenie-ing out because you THINK you can't afford it?
--n/a
1b1) Does the wording of my question above change your answer?
--i'm going to wink here
1d) If no, what the heck is wrong with you?
--bears!
2) Anything we MUST have (even if not on the banquet menu)?
--cake
>.>
<.<
(I figure we might have some leeway in this regard as omissions cost the same as some included items.)
3) Preferred dining date/time? My planned default is Friday Oct 23, 5:30pm which will hopefully allow us to dine without rushing to get to whatever Niv might be putting together on Friday
--5:30 sounds fine

Are you sure this honor doesn't go to DD and Chewie?

Scimi's landed safely in Atlanta, and I have awakened from my post drive-back-from-the-bay nap.

Both Scimi and I wanted to thank everyone who showed up at the Murderburger run. We had a wonderful time and it was a great round up (ed: round out?) to Scimi's week out in Sacramento.

Thanks to Mod 8/The Ocho for attending as well, and for the great, great schwag!

Also thank you, DD, for a great dinner. Scimi and both felt it was the best sushi we have ever had. If you are in San Mateo or nearby, it's worth the trip!
17. Yea! Ostrich Burger here I come. I have to say Chevy's on the river is probably not a good idea for us, since we have to head to San Bruno that night (opposite direction and what not).

Although I too heard rumblings of teh bowlings afterwards. I'd say you should watch me handle a ten pound ball, but there's just no way to make a risque bowling joke without it sounding entirely too goofy.
18. Happy Birthday!
Scimi says happy birthday too

I dunno. Is that what folks want? I sort of didn't want to repeat myself, but if that's what folks would REALLY like to do, I think I can find a way to deal with it.

Alternatives:
I had dinner at Frankie, Johnnie, & Luigi's last night & saw their family-style menu which looked pretty good. I've also had some good-sized groups at Buca di Beppo that went well. Of course, Italian food can be had most places, and I imagine everybody has a favorite that these won't match up with. But, I think the food's pretty good at either place & I think they could accomdate a similar sized herd to the last one we managed.

There's also a Mexican place I'm partial to that I think folks might like. No idea if they do family-style, but don't really care as long as I get my favorite... They have a store front in Palo Alto that has this nifty wall-o-tequila behind the bar, but they don't take reservations & parking in Palo Alto is teh suck. Instead, I'd suggest folks trek to the sister restaurant in Mountain View where the parking is more plentiful.

That's just stuff that I've already been thinking about. I could look into other places if people have requests for other kinds of cuisine. There are more Indian places than you can shake a stick at in the nearby area, and there are a fair number of Thai places too. Of course, given that a number of people wanted to stick with foods they were more familiar with, I thought I'd try to be more accomodating this time around.

Oh... I'm also going to say that anything I suggest is likely NOT going to be close to any hotels that Niv & crew may set up arrangements with. Apologies to those who might be driving in the day we decide to do this gathering, but I like to think the food will be worth it. I'm pretty gol-darned sure you'll find the company to be top-notch!

all of these, yes please thank you!
