    Personally, I think it does what I would expect a Shield set to do. Provided the numbers are reasonable when this goes live I will be playing it.

    It does a dopler shift effect. Move past (or rotate) near a glowie and you can hear the pitch change.

    Without Phalanx Fighting, it is still 26.7% base def, compared to Ice, which is 18% without EA, and no resistance back up.

    Its about 41% slotted. Add in Combat Jumping and you are at the cap without even having to think about IOs or Weave.

    And then you have the +150% damage buff.

    Unfortunatly there is no way it will go live in such an overpowered state, but it ceratinly doesn't look bad at the moment.

    There is also word that OwtS now has +hp, witch would make it a self heal. Don't know how genuine it is though.

    Shield Bash used to be in the set, but was replaced by Shield Charge. However, Shield Charge does not work properly, so Shield Bash may go back in.

    Energy Melee: I just have lots of +recharge and cycle ET and TF as often as possible. Barrage is unslotted, the only other EM attack I have slotted is Bone Smasher. I have Laser Eyes and Energy Torrent though.

  10. It's not specifically mentioned, but its pretty clear spike damage is being nerfed, which would include AS. I expect stalkers normal attacks would be buffed, and they may get some of the squishies resistance stuff.

  12. My guess would be that base salvage will no longer drop.

    Invention salvage can already be used to make tier two salvage. My guess is that will remain, and become the main path for building base stuff. Tier 2 salvage could be stored in the racks. Invention salvage in racks? It wouldn't suprise me, but might be limited to common salvage.

    It's probably because people choose NRG secondary for the single target damage, which Granite nullifies, making this an anti-synagistic combo.

    You really don't understand do you?

    PvPers don't want new players (except as targets). They certainly don't want an even fight. They have put a lot of work in creating thier perfect builds. Any attempt to balance PvP is doom for them.

    I'm afraid this (or any) change to PvP balance is a complete waste of Castle's time - it alienates far more existing PvPers than the new people it will bring in.

    Only 2 directions. knockup and knockback, as TRT says, knockback with a mag less than 1.0 is knockdown.

    The direction? It's knockdown. It doesn't have a direction unless you slot it.

    If you do slot it, it's direction is likely to be towards where you end up anyway, and its a once-per-fight agro grabbing power anyway, basically a clone of Lightning Rod.

    But it doesn't work right atm, so it may well get taken out.

    I bet you the controller damage buff is because they won't get containment in PvP anymore.


    One thing is certain, sets that are currently good in PvP will be hit hardest by any nerfs.

    I understand now, I have different preferences in my playstle I guess (am quite happy with keldians for one thing).

    One think though, there is no knockback power in Shields.
  22. It's not a matter of reading the EULA. Its a case of simple manners. If you are new somewhere, and you say something that clearly annoys/offends people, you apologise, you don't continue to argue.

    This is almost certainly not a new player, but someone who has had thier previous account banned, and is using a free trial under a different name to come back and cause trouble.
