stating that the EU boards are closing and that the EU players are being moved to the US servers would have no undue impact on any talks with Brighton staff
[/ QUOTE ]
That would affect the status of a post actually existing or not. It probably would have no influence on negotiations, but the lawyers would have advised them to say nothing anyway, as lawyers always err on the side of non-disclosure of information. -
They won't be considering DCUO or Star Trek as they are unlikely to go live in 2009.
LB is right about HR law though. -

I wonder what their analysts know that we dont.
[/ QUOTE ]
They where going to anounce CoH2. -
Issue 9 was actually the issue that turned things around, numbers wise.
Numbers increased steadily from issue 1-3, went down for issue 5-7, picked up a little with 8, then quite a lot with 9. they remained roughly trending slightly upwards until the dip in the long time gap betwen 12 and 13. -

I keep poping into this thread, but there never seems to be anything gnu.

It's stoatally different. You should be able to distinguish the difference weasily
[/ QUOTE ]
Your just ferreting around for bad puns now. -

Pot is good for that Bullet Time effect.
I'm going to go back to painting though. Keeps me out of mischief and I can occasionally sell something. -

if someone had suggested the game was doomed because they weren't targeting pensioners, the game not doing well now wouldn't mean they were correct.
[/ QUOTE ]
Lots of time, possibly have difficulty getting out of the house to socialise, remember Steve Reeves as Superman, would seem like an ideal target market to me. -

[ QUOTE ]
Because bearing in mind I have tried to put forward why I think the game has never hit its potential, and you lot have constantly knocked my theories and suggestions, then clearly the game should be doing fab business right now.
[/ QUOTE ]
That had a hell of a lot more to do with the WAY you said it rather than what you were actually saying. The message was drowned out by the arrogant attitude.
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed, we all agreed that more advertising was needed. It was just the idea that CoX sould be attracting as many people as watched The Dark Knight movie that was absurd. Or that Supergroups where of more than marginal interest.
It's all irellevent now anyway, I shall go and do something more productive until SWTOR comes out. -

Human Form Peacebringers can (and, in my grumpy elitist opinion, should!) do this with Combat Flight, too.
[/ QUOTE ]
This works a lot better with a ranged KD than a PBAOE though... -

Things must be getting bad when I think Lionsbane is talking sense...

Obviously it's also outperforming Aion at the moment, but that will likely change unless Aion is a complete flop.
[/ QUOTE ]
What does Aion really have that will sell it to a western market though, appart from pretty graphics which will make it run like a slide show on a lot of PCs? -
As I said in another thread, I dislike Solar Flare. Used to have it, respeced it out for the ranged aoe power, since issue 13 buffed it's damage to be near the level of Solar Flare. The KB can be useful solo, but it is a liability in teams, but my real problem was the need to be on the ground to use it, I found I was doing a lot of hover fighting on my human for PB.

This thread is the most hysterical block of doom-mongering ever to appear on these boards. Please don't forget to tar yourself with that brush,
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed, and you will notice I entered this thread very late, in order to avoid DOOOM mongering, as I'm aware of how damaging it is.
I'm pretty sure it's too late to change anything now though, so it doesn't matter one way or the other.
TBH, I'm suprised CoX has lasted as long as it did. Around the time of issue 7 I didn't think it would get beyond issue 9. -
I think a lot of the problems with NCwest managment is they are stuck in a buisiness model based on an Asian model.
E.g. lack of advertising: In asia, most gaming occurs in public areas, so word of mouth is much more effective. In the west, people usually game in thier own homes, so you need to find other ways to reach them. -
You could argue that the greed of the bankers simply reflected the greed and moral bankruptsy of the society they where living in.
There is plenty of blame, to put wherever your politics suggests it sould go. -
As I said it was oversimplification/hyperbolae.
I also say that electrons are particles in shells around atoms. That's not true either. -

Surely if the media doomsaying caused some people to alter their spending habits it could have lead to or exacerbated the recession.
[/ QUOTE ]
This.
The media caused the credit crunch, which caused the recession.
[/ QUOTE ]
lol, if that's not the definition of naive I don't know what is. I admit the media didn't help matters but to blame them entirely is just narrow-minded.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's certainly an oversimplificion, but I'n my job it's something I have to do a lot.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oversimplification? You mean you took out all the other people responsible and just blamed the media.
It's like saying the problems in Brighton are the fault of the people starting the server merge threads.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's a good analogy. The people calling for server mergers didn't cause the problem, but they certainly made it worse/happen sooner (as we predicted at the time). -

The media is resonsible for talking up the DOOOM and destroying confidence..
The banks are responsible for gambling with other people's money
the government is responsible of failing to properly regualate the banks.
People are responsible for electing the government/borrowing beyond thier means/believing the media. -

take a peak at your interest rates.

Doesn't really affect me, I don't have huge savings, and zero borrowings.

Not enough to have a noticable effect on my bills.

Or Woolworths.
[/ QUOTE ]
I haven't shopped in Woolworths since I was six. -
I'm not talking about NCSoft in the EU, I'm talking about the whole of NCSoftWest.
It occured to me that the reason for consolodating NCSoft's western operations was in the hope of finding a buyer.
Since no buyer has appeared...
